News from the Preschool
This week in preschool we have been busy working on our very first letter of the year
Ll. We have also been talking about the Ten Commandments and how God
created those rules for us to follow so that we can reflect clear images of God
through us. In the afternoons we have been reading the book Chicka Chicka Boom
Boom and doing different activities that go along with the book. Parents, please
remember to sign in your child/children everyday when you drop them off in the
morning. If somebody else is going to be dropping them off please remind them about
signing in. And if you havent done so already, please remember to send back the
beginning of the year evaluations that were sent home a couple week ago. Dates to
Remember: October 9th book orders are due if you are interested in ordering
books. October 18th: Field Trip to Kapnick Orchard. Permission slips and payment is
due back no later than October 13th. We are also planning a walking field trip to
the Fire station and Police station sometime in the month of October as well. We are
looking at either the 24th, 25th, or 26th. More information will be coming once we get
things finalized. I would like to thank all the parents and grandparents who helped
with the Walk-A-Thon this Wednesday and thanks to everyone who donated food and
or money to the food pantry. Your help is greatly appreciated!. Have a good
weekend! Miss Jessica

Traveling to Lansing
This week the 5th and 6th graders traveled to Lansing for the All Schools Mass at St. Marys Cathedral. It is a tradi-
tion where our students can join and celebrate Mass with Catholic school students from 33 different schools in Mich-
igan. Bishop Boyea asked the students to Ignite the Light of Jesus. He asked the students to shine with Jesus light
and not hide it somewhere where no one can be
helped by it. We walked through downtown Lan-
sing and enjoyed lunch with the busy people in a
big city. We then walked over to the beautiful
State Capitol building and the students im-
pressed the tour guide with their knowledge of
Michigan history. Thank you Mrs. Schutte for
teaching them last year! Mrs. Martinez, Mrs.
Atkin, Mrs. Jedele, Mrs Rijke and Mrs. Hart
chaperoned the trip. A very fun day!
Community Service
This week all of the students: preschool to 6th grade walked to gain awareness of the
need for food at the Hudson Food Pantry. We asked for monetary and food item dona-
tions of as we all took part in the Annual Walk-a-Thon. The weather was wonderful
and it felt good to help God feed his people.

News from the 3rd/4th Grade
I wanted to write a quick note about the progress reports that went home today. Please remember that the grades on
these reports could change quite easily between now and report card time, as we will have more assignments in the
second half of the marking period. Also, third grade progress reports include letter grades just as fourth grade re-
ports do. This will be different when it is report card time and the third graders will receive 1's, 2's, 3's, and 4's as they
did last year. I give them grades on the progress report so they can see what to expect for next year and to get a
gauge as to how they are doing overall. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Also, we do have a religion test over unit one on Tuesday. Review sheets to help the students study were completed
and sent home on Thursday. Finally, I'm sure this was an oversight on my part, but I believe I didn't include glue
sticks or glue on the supply list. The students will need glue this year, so if you could add that to your shopping list
that would be great! Thanks and have a great weekend!
Students may wear shorts next week because
of the unseasonably warm weather.
