PART ONE Characterization Project:

A Birthday Present for


Auggie pullman!
OVERVIEW: Imagine that you are a student in Ms. Petosas
homeroom class and were invited to August Pullmans fifth
grade bowling birthday party on October 10, 2017! Your parents
R.S.V.P. that you will attend, so now its time to put together the
perfect gift and write a birthday card! You will assemble your
gift based on what you have learned about Auggie through the
five (5) methods of characterization in PART ONE of Wonder.
Step one: Birthday Gift
Based on what we have learned about Auggie in PART ONE,
brainstorm . Consider Auggies personality, likes, and dislikes

Start the card with a salutation (Dear Auggie,) and a brief


introduction. At the end of the card, sign it as if you are one of the
characters who attended Auggies birthday party in the book.

The body of your card will be I.C.E. paragraphs that answer the
question, Why did you chose this gift for Auggie? You will have
three (3) I.C.E. paragraphs in total, one for each of your three (3)
items. Use the information on your graphic organizer to assemble
your paragraphs. Your text evidence should be DIRECT QUOTES
that represent a different method of S.T.E.A.L. characterization Due DATE: _____ / _____
