Foreword

I gave my life to God at age 20, my conversion was real and I witnessed for God at
almost every opportunity. I believe my heart was right, but of course my mind
hadnt been renewed the way that it needed to be and I didnt have access to the
kind of mentors that I needed to help me understand Gods word properly so that I
could grow in relationship with God. Not long after my conversion I was slowly
headed in the wrong direction, with a wrong legalistic understanding of Gods word
and an increasing sense of condemnation. That led to numerous DUIs as I was a
periodic binge drinker and that finally led to an addiction to crack cocaine with all
of the demonic activity that all of those things open the door for. Demons would
slam doors and the addiction could seize me almost at will and without warning. I
remember one time clearly hearing a whirlwind behind me as a friend and I were
praying over the telephone and a demon was forced to leave my apartment.

Most of us need some help in the area of understanding Gods word through the
eyes of the Spirit and our inheritance in Jesus, as sons and daughters of God. We are
all called to operate in the supernatural power of God for the benefit of others. That
isnt just for some of us but for all of us. Having a mind which is renewed with the
understanding of these things is key to spiritual growth, getting free from bondage
and becoming the people we were designed to be.

Those who have not done so already, will be empowered by this book and
knowledge of the truth to do the supernatural work of Jesus if they will believe and
step out in faith, regardless of whatever shortcomings they may presently have. That
is Gods will be for all of us. Regardless of your occupation, I pray that you be em-
powered to stomp Hell for a living.

Chapter One
THE PROBLEM & THE SOLUTION

Fear and/or a lack of knowledge are the problem with regards to spiritual growth
and spiritual or demonic bondage. But the solution to every problem is in knowing
Gods love for us in the framework of His word which is the Bible. In our spirit man
(the Holy Spirit) we are just like Jesus, in spite of what imperfections and problems
we have in our natural person, mind & body. The only path to spiritual growth and
freedom is in knowing and operating out of who we are in Jesus, which allows us to
operate in His love and power as sons and daughters of God, being free from human
agendas.

Many believers are so blessed that they are able to step into their identity in Jesus
and operate in the things of God powerfully moving in the right direction from the
start. Those often are the worlds most powerful men and women of God but they
are a fairly small percentage of the church. Jesus said, "If you continue in my
word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and you shall know the truth, and the
truth shall make you free."(John 8:31-32) Its a process. He did not say stop
sinning and learn to act like me and that will make you free which is mainly what
the church has taught which is also backwards and it is not possible to go grow into
the image of God and our identities that way. Freedom comes through knowing
Gods love, who we are and what we have in Jesus.

Until we have an understanding of Gods love for us at a heart level we dont have
the kind of relationship with God that we need, nor do we have the kind of peace
that is needed to have any kind of true freedom. We can see great miracles through
prayer and move mountains with our faith, but still lack the kind of peace that we
need if we dont have a meaningful understanding of the love of God. I saw a multi-
tude of great miracles a long time prior to getting free from my addiction cocaine.

But it for me it took a long time to have a sufficient knowledge of Gods love for
me that I was able to overcome that addiction. Of course an addiction like that
brings great bondage until it is broken. This was a long time after I started my jour-
ney back to God and was renewing my mind with the truth. It took God time to
break down the strongholds that had been built and reinforced for such a long period
of time so that I could have eyes to see and ears to hear. If intellectual knowledge of
Gods word would have gotten the job done I would have gotten free long before I
did.

5
On the other hand I know many Christians who trust and love God, but because they
do not have a right understanding of Gods word, who they are and what they have
in Jesus and even though they truly love other people they do not operate in the
power of God for the benefit of others. As a result they are rather powerless and
they very rarely produce fruit. That is not Gods will for any Christian. As Gods
representatives we are intended to operate in Gods power. If we fail to understand
and do this we will never produce anything close to the harvest for Gods kingdom
that we were meant to. 1 Corinthians 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in
word but in power. Of course this is the kind of power that can never be bought
with money.

Most people think that power only comes through maturity, having an absence of
sin and or having all of our ducks in a row. All good things work together in the
kingdom of God and of course with time and maturity our ability to operate in
Gods power increases. But mainly power comes through faith and having a
knowledge of Gods willingness to flow through us in spite of however much sin a
person has in their lives.

Growth is dependent and contingent on knowing everything we have & who we are
in Jesus as sons and daughters, in spite of whatever problems that we have. That is
not just the best way to grow into the likeness of God, but it is the only way. Ro-
mans 8:6 "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is
life and peace." The carnally minded person thinks that they are righteous based
upon their works or absence of sin plus their good deeds and usually in comparison
to other people. That is self-righteousness which in the end is only destructive. But
the spiritually minded person understands it is only through Jesus payment and
relationship with Him that they are righteous (in spite of their imperfections) and
doesnt compare themselves to other people.

Until we can understand that Gods love for us is totally independent of our perfor-
mance and in spite on any sin we may have, we do not have a reasonable
understanding of Gods love for us and others. In fact our understanding of Gods
love is quite polluted. When I first started seeing an abundance of great miracles at a
time when I was doing a lot of street ministry, I had an intellectual knowledge of
Gods love and of course accepted it as fact. That was really the starting point of
coming to a heart level understanding of Gods love, although I had been seeing
amazing miracles for some years prior to that.

There is not any doubt that the more that we use the faith that God has given us
the greater that our spiritual growth will be. Your journey doesnt need to be and
6
should not be as long as mine was. If you are not already doing so you can begin
operating in Gods supernatural faith and do that in abundance starting today.

Love, Gods Will, Right Identity & Power

The Formula for Relationship with God

Jesus gave this to us very plainly and clearly by instructing us that we are to love
God with everything that we are and to love our neighbors as ourselves. This is only
possible when we begin to understand Gods great love for us as individuals and His
love for all of mankind.

Regardless of the fact that many will reject the truth, Gods love and His will for
every human being is that they become a son or daughter of God. We are all meant
to walk in relationship with Him as a son or daughter and to destroy the work of the
devil, bringing life and healing to others. We are meant to become free from all
forms of self-centeredness having all of our needs met also. When we put others
first God sees to it that our needs are met one way or another.

Only as we begin put God and others first do we begin to understand Gods love.
We also see Gods love and power manifest as we do this.

But again, this also explains why a person can have love and relationship with God
but be void of His power which is not His will for us. And this is why its important
that we understand His will for us that is who we are in Him and the power we
have in Him. You might say the formula is Love, Gods will, right identity & pow-
er.

Chapter Two
Getting Free from the Spirit of Offense

As Christians its our blood bought right, our duty and our obligation to be free
from anger and offense. Understanding that truth and being committed to it, in and
of itself, will set us free in time if we have any problems. But the enemy wants to do
whatever is possible to prevent that from happening.

Not everyone has a problem in this area of course, but there is probably no sin that
is more deadly than having a spirit of offense or a stronghold of it. Some people
who do not even know God have learned to walk free from offense because of all of
the problems it brings.

But its no doubt the most common of deadly sins. It also opens up the door to the
enemy and keeps people in bondage to a host of other problems. There is little if
anything which repels the grace of God like the spirit of offense. This is why the
devil does what he can to make as have problems in this area. If we are offended by
others we cannot love them and its Gods will for us to love everyone even our en-
emies. This is why being offended or resentful at others does more to keep
Christians in bondage than anything else. Gods word tells us that strife and envy
bring confusion and every evil work (James 3:16) so that amounts to a wide open
door for the enemy. Its the exact opposite of operating in the Spirit of God.

But be encouraged if you have a problem with anger, resentment or forgiveness.

Upon learning and applying the simple truths contained in this book you will get
free from those things and that will happen effortlessly. The only things required are
that you be willing to trust God and believe His word. But my hope and belief is
that if you lack the faith needed to do that right now you will have ample faith to
do so by the time you finish reading this book. Jesus made it quite clear and clear
that it is through understanding the truth of Gods word that makes us free. There
are people who can recite much scripture but have little understanding of it or the
gospel.

Like most things - it is in understanding Gods love through His word, what we
have and who we are in Him - that we get free if we have any problem in this area.

The spiritual person sees themselves and others through Gods eyes of love not tak-
ing into account the sins of others but seeing others for their created value and
potential or who they will be when they give their life to God and allow Him to be
in control. 2 Cor.5:16 "Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh:"
8
There is tremendous information and power in this short simple statement. We are
not to see people for their race, color, religion, political affiliation or their sin and
no man includes ourselves.

God made you to be His child and Jesus paid the price to make that possible. That
is Gods will for every human being although not all will accept it. 2 Peter 3:9 "The
Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is
longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should
come to repentance." He paid the price for every sin you have ever committed
(past & present tense) or ever will commit (future tense). God loves us in a way that
is beyond our imagination. The problem is that most of us cant imagine that and the
devil does everything in his power to see to that. When we know Gods love and we
understand what God has given us the devil is powerfully defeated and that re-
quires little effort on our part.

What are the two greatest commandments? They are to love God with everything
that is in you and to love your neighbor as yourself. We can only do that when we
understand the great love God has for each one of us and who we are as sons and
daughters being born again. That is Gods will for us and what Gods love and grace
flows out of, so that is the key to getting out of spiritual bondage. Secondly, but
almost as importantly, we need to understand our authority over the demonic and
use that authority as needed.

Pride is simply being concerned or focused on ones self or ones own needs and it
is at the root of every kind of evil including the love of money. A person with a
low sense of value or one who is timid is self-focused. Such people often think they
are humble, but that is just another form of self-centeredness. Although that is less
offensive to others than an attitude of arrogance is, both are forms of pride. They are
fear based and are very harmful.

When we know Gods love for ourselves and others, knowing who we are in Jesus
and what we have in Him, fear has little or no place and without any effort we are
set free from strongholds of fear and from pride and to the degree that we under-
stand those things. We may fall short of perfection but we should always be
growing in our understanding of these things

In order to get free from offense or unforgiveness we have to come to understand

Gods love for us personally and that that love is not based on our performance,
but entirely on the payment of Jesus. It seems like a catch 22 because if we have
problems in this area because we know that Gods word says that in order to be for-
9
given by God we have to forgive others. But once we get hold of a few simple truths
not only will you get free from anger and resentment of things done in the past but
from there afterwards you will rarely be bothered by things people say or do and
forgiveness will come automatically and effortlessly.

Before I understood these simple truths, because I had studied Gods word much
and had seen many great miracles as a result of that knowledge, I thought I under-
stood Gods word. But when I came to understand these things I realized why I had
been in great bondage. As God began to break the stronghold of offense with the
truth of His word I began to set out to find those truths to keep me free from the
spirit of offense. Of course it is over time and with repeated application of the truth
that we know the truth which sets us free (John 8:31-32).

It doesnt matter how we acquired the problem or what other people have done to
us. We need to be free from offense and any type of anger or resentment to become
what God wants each one of us to be. Although I had done a thorough moral inven-
tory of my past there were attitudes and wrong ways of thinking that had created
strongholds for being offended. There are several lies that need to be replaced with
the truth. The first lie, taught to us by the world and unfortunately very often even
by the church is that we have any right to be angry. A lot of that false understand-
ing has to do with a misunderstanding of what Gods word says about the subject.

There is probably no greater thing that the devil does to make Christians ineffective
and or to destroy us than getting us to believe the lie that we have a right to be angry
or secondly that we can afford to be angry. The main reason why he has such suc-
cess in this area is that most people do not really believe that they can trust God and
that He will provide for us in spite of our imperfections. A common reason for that
belief is usually just our carnal (natural) thinking, which is all about performance.
Many have also falsely taught by the church that God gives us illness or tragedy in
order to teach us things, but both Jesus and His brother James made it clear that is
not true.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I
am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundant-
ly

James 1:16-17
"Do not err, my beloved brethren.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from
the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
10
We are in error if we think God gives us bad things to teach us. Every good gift is
from God and there is, no darkness in Him at all.

Probably the number one reason that we have been deceived into taking on offenses
is that we havent really believed that God is our provider and not men. If we think
that God will not meet all of our needs and that our welfare or well-being is depend-
ent on people then we have a reason to be afraid. And fear is almost always at the
root of anger.

The End of Excuses & the Beginning of Truth

Angry people are fearful people. Where there is fear there is torment, but per-
fect love casts out fear. 1 John 4:18. So anger and resentment always produce
torment. When a person assumes a right to be angry, what they are doing is inviting
torment and it will come. Its amazing that the devil was able to trick us into invit-
ing our own torment and he was even able to trick us into making excuses for
staying in that torment. At that point, a stronghold was built and with that in place
the enemy can often bring destruction and loss in many areas of a persons life.

Pride is simply about being self-centered or focused on ones self and ones own
needs but if we are really trusting and following Jesus there is no need to be that
way and He provides for us. God wants us to be free from ourselves and pride so
that we are free to love God and others the way we should. He will meet our needs
and He will do that abundantly as we trust Him and follow His instructions.

No matter how bad or wrong something may have been we need to stop making
excuses for holding onto anger and resentment and for staying in torment. Nowa-
days when people do things to me that I think are wrong I immediately do whatever
I need to do or can to prevent it from becoming a resentment. Its simply about for-
getting the matter and focusing my thinking on something else, knowing that it
doesnt matter what people do because God is my source for everything and other
people are not. You might say I look and find the excuse needed to forgive, alt-
hough there is no excuse for not forgiving.

There are a few other New Testament scriptures that people often misunderstand or
use as an excuse for being angry, but I am just going to address what is probably the
main one which is Ephesians 4:26-27 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go
down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil."

11
Our anger should always be directed at Satan and not people who are under
his control. We are supposed to hate evil, but we need to remember that although
people do evil things - they always do it out of ignorance and because they are de-
ceived and blinded by the enemy as God's word says. 2 Corinthians 4:4 "In whom
the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the
light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine
unto them." That is why Jesus said as He was dying on the cross (Luke 23:34) "Fa-
ther forgive them for they know not what they do."

When God's word says "do not let the sun go down on your anger" it is not saying
as it is so often taught that we need to get over our anger towards people before we
go to bed. Its true that we need to be quick to forgive (actually that forgiveness
needs to be pretty much instantaneous) but what this really is saying never stop be-
ing angry at the devil. If we do, we become apathetic and an easy target for Satan.
Then, at times, we may simply accept what Satans demons are doing when we
should be bringing a quick end to it by using our authority over them in Jesus name.
God's word says "be angry and sin not". When we are angry at people, we are sin-
ning but we are not when we are angry at the devil.

God tells us not to take vengeance because vengeance belongs to Him. Many people
use that as an excuse for thinking its ok to be angry at other people. That is not
God's intention. Romans 13:8 says "owe no man anything except to love him."

There is Only One Lawgiver and One Judge

James 4:12

That scripture by its self should put an end to any excuses we have for anger if we
have any understanding of why it is that God wants us to love our enemies. That is
because He wants to save them and He can only work through us if we are operating
in love. We cant love others is we are judging them.

I have had a couple of men of God who are well known and highly respected, one of
whom I had admired much that held offenses towards me and refused to accept my
sincere apology about my disagreements with them. One of them also intentionally
caused me harm. And another one I had done much for in the way of promoting his
ministry which he also benefitted from financially from. But when someone asks
our forgiveness, Gods word is clear that we are always to forgive as Jesus said in
Matthew 18:21-22. Of course doesnt mean that we have to trust them or put our-
selves in a position for them to repeat something that has caused us harm but we do

12
need to forgive from the heart and thats important whether or not the person asks
for our forgiveness.

I was very shocked by those mens refusal to forgive as they violated Gods word in
more ways than one and would not repent even when they were confronted with
those truths. But now I am thankful for the things that those men did. That is be-
cause what that did is give me a very strong revelation of the truth of James 4:12
that I am playing God and wrong whenever I judge others. And the other benefit
was that it strengthened me in the area of not being overly concerned about what
any man thinks. They were playing judge, refusing to forgive and one was even
doing me harm at the same time. This was huge in setting me free from the lie that it
was ever right for me to play judge or play God.

I leaned recently that one of those men places so little importance on forgiveness
because he thinks that Jesus teaching on the requirement of forgiveness amounts to
Old Testament law. That also explains why although his ministry which focuses on
miracles and power was exploding and growing like fire it seems to have almost
died now. He was operating in great error through his lack of understanding in that
area, although that was never visible to the public. Many people around the world
would be amazed if I were to give that ministers name.

Fear is the opposite of faith. Although we have power and authority over all of the
works of the enemy as children of God, we need to do what we can to stay free from
it because we have no authority over what we fear. And generally the devil will
always attack us in whatever area we are prone to fear and in the areas where we
may be offended. Our offense and defense to the devil is to walk in faith and love.
When we do this the devil will go somewhere else.

If people can push our buttons the devil will see to it that people do. We need to
get rid of our buttons, die to ourselves and be alive to love others as Jesus has loved
us.

HUMILITY - BRINGS AN ABUNDANCE OF GRACE

"Grace" is God's provision to go through negative circumstances and trials un-

harmed and to grow into His image & likeness.

When I started putting a lot of work into learning how to walk free from offense the
trials, temptations and persecutions became very heavy. The multitude had been
almost beyond belief and in all of the areas I have been prone to taking offense in
13
the past, some of which I had forgotten all about. It seemed almost more than I
could bare and was impacting every area. The devil brings on the heat whenever he
starts losing ground in any area and the trials and temptations increase. Trials and
temptations do not come from God but the enemy. James 1:13 "Let no man say
when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil,
neither tempteth he any man:" I was expecting that would happen but it was more
than I expected and lasted longer than I would have imagined.

A few times some of the extreme things that were being done got me rather angry. It
seemed like the work I had done in renewing my mind in this area hadn't been quite
enough. I was frazzled and starting to feel & get a little out of control. Then I saw
an email in my Inbox which brought great relief. This was no doubt a direct mes-
sage from God. The Subject line read "Humility - Brings an Abundance of Grace."
That was the exact word I needed. I didn't take time to read the email and didn't
need to.

I received the message and adopted an attitude of humility to replace my defensive

& offensive posture that I had developed in response to rapid attacks that were com-
ing at me. Although circumstances didn't change that much and the attacks kept
coming what did change was that I was given an abundant grace to go through those
things without being harmed. Strife or anger usually brings harm with it. In the past
such circumstances would have made me a complete mental wreck for some time to
come. But the work I had done had not been for nothing, I just needed to get hold of
this simple truth. Faith in God and an attitude of humility really do produce abun-
dant grace.

Many people don't like anything that requires work, changing the way they think or
which speaks about the fact that we have to go through trials. Many of us feel that
we have had enough hardship in life and are looking for an easier softer way out.
But knowing the truth & how to pass through difficulties with Gods grace is the
easier softer way. Most of us have heard it taught that we will go through any type
of trial over and over again until we have victory in that area, but that is often mis-
understood. Because sometimes we can even fail, and have victory when we see our
mistake and God changes our heart so that the enemy can no longer tempt us in that
area.

If there were on thing which I think could have set me free or would have benefitted
my spiritual growth and relationship with God the most of course it would have
been a greater focus and understanding of the importance of humility. About 8 years
ago I was in a mens meeting with about 150 other men and the speaker stopped in
14
the middle of the meeting and gave me a word of knowledge. He didnt know me
and neither did anyone else there, but he told me to focus on being humble and gen-
tle and to leave bitterness behind when God took me to the next level. If I had any
regrets it would be that I didnt do a better job of following that instruction sooner.

15
Chapter Three
Growing in the Power of the Truth

What Being Saved Really Means

We have been taught that salvation is about having our sins forgiven so that we can
go to Heaven one day. But the truth is that God's intention and what Jesus paid in-
cludes a lot more than that. What the word "saved" (in the Greek "sozo) means:
"saved, healed, delivered, protected, preserved, made whole and kept safe and
sound." Thats what is really meant when God's word tells us that He didn't send
His Son to condemn the world but that through Him all men might be saved. God is
able to give us grace, peace and joy that is so amazing that what would otherwise be
even the most difficult or painful circumstances - they have little or no negative
impact on us.

We need to understand what we have in Jesus as joint heirs with Him, not what we
would seem to have in comparison to others which looking at makes us without
understanding as Gods word say 2 Cor. 10:12. In our spirit man (the Holy Spirit)
we have everything that Jesus does include his wisdom, spiritual gifts & power.

As children of God, we are first and foremost spiritual or who we are in our spirit
man. We are not our habits (good or bad) nor are we the product of all of our fail-
ures and our victories. Those things are primarily exterior things our products of our
natural man or our flesh. But the spirit man in us is just like Jesus. It may not seem
that way we all have a lot of worldly programming which is contrary to the things of
God, but it certainly is true, in spite of our imperfections or what we look like on the
outside.

While its true that we only experience those things to the degree that we that we are
able to renew our minds with the spiritual truths of Gods word we do have ALL
of those things. We need to have some understanding of this so that we can see the
manifestation of Gods power in our lives and that of others. This also helps us to be
thankful for what we have whatever our circumstances may be as it is evident
along, with the knowledge of what Jesus suffered, of Gods great love for us. And
with knowledge of Gods love for us we are able to love others in spite of whatever
imperfections they may have big or small. But we cant give what we do not have.

If we trust God and we are walking in relationship with Him, there is no need to be
self-centered or fearful. That solves all problems, but anger and resentment give the
16
devil an inroad that allows him to block communications and relationship with God.
Its not that God has stopped loving us, but that we have blocked our own ability to
walk in or perceive that love. We can still operate in faith and see great miracles but
without love or if that love is corrupted by fear we benefit little and it will be far
less than it would have been if we had been walking in love without that obstruc-
tion.

Gods word tells us to love our enemies Matt 5:44. No doubt most people dismiss
that because they think it to be an impossibility. It is an impossibility if we are oper-
ating in our carnal/natural minds. But God never asks us to do anything we cant do.
We can do it if we learn to operate in the spirit having renewed our minds with the
truth. That is Gods will for us as well as His love for others. Only through love
can we be used of God to change what is wrong with mens hearts and as God
works through love. Through our renewed mind even the hardest heart can be trans-
formed into the image of God and that is almost always the way that happens.

Sin is Mainly Spiritual Ignorance

The Bible tells us that the religious people of Jesus day killed Jesus out of jealously
and likewise they stoned Stephen to death out of anger. But both Jesus and Stephen
prayed the same thing for their murderers, Father forgive them for they know not
what they do? In other words they were both saying that the people committing
those horrific acts were doing so out of ignorance. To the degree that we understand
the truth we are set free from even the temptation to sin.

The Battle

Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against princi-
palities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places." Our battle is not against men but against the
forces of Satan that battle against us and work to keep people deceived and ignorant
of the love and power of God.

Whether we sin, a church leader sins, an unbeliever sins it is all about ignorance.
Although some may be intentionally ignorant, even those of us who are born again
and know Gods word fairly well all suffer from a certain amount of ignorance. If
we knew the truth as God knows it there would not be sin or even any temptation to
sin.

17
2 Corinthians 10:4 "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty
through God to the pulling down of strong holds;" Strongholds are lies that have
been planted in our minds and reinforced by the work of the enemy. They lead us
into confusion and into temptation. They are destroyed as we grow into the
knowledge of who we are and what we have in Jesus. When the lies have no place
to stick the devil has to go.

John 8:31-32 "If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed;
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Paul wrote that when he had focused on not sinning (not coveting) he had sinned
(coveted) all the more and that because Jesus payment was once for all we
should not be conscious of sin. The apostles, as a group, and under the counsel of
the Holy Spirit, instructed the church that the only burden they would put on them
was to avoid four things. One of those things was fornication. The word also tells us
that the two become one flesh and tells us that the immoral man sins against his own
body. Self-centeredness and selfish ambitions along with our own agendas need to
go. The greater the sin the greater opportunity the devil has to enslave us to it and
the greater degree of bondage he can put us in oppression or even possession in
the most extreme cases. So as much as we can, without becoming too focused on sin
or minor things, we certainly do need to avoid sins of immorality or other types of
idolatry. And if we ever fall we quickly repent. The word repent means to change
our mind.
Principles of Faith

Right identity and knowledge of Gods love, in spite of our imperfections is the
center point out of which everything in Gods love flows out of. But understanding
and operating in principles of faith is a critically important part of having right iden-
tity and growing in relationship with God and knowledge of His love.

Our focus, first and foremost, should be on relationship with God, who we are and
what we have in Him. But until we get to the point that we have that kind of vital
and empowered relationship with God, principles of faith help us to grow into that
kind of relationship, knowledge & understanding. Principles of faith or operating in
faith allows us to access Gods provision and the things of the Spirit even if a per-
son is in much bondage and that also makes us able to grow in relationship with
God.

As Christians we are supposed to be givers in all ways. And if we lack finances we

need to be giving. But we need to be giving anyway and be doing it with the right
18
heart. Jesus said giving our money is the least of things. Luke 16:10-11 "He that is
faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much:" I am amazed at how many
Christians do not give. How can we call ourselves a Christian if we cannot be faith-
ful in the very smallest thing? 2 Corinthians 9:7 "Every man according as he
purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God
loves a cheerful giver."

Although we reap in accordance with what we sow in contrast to what we have to

give (2 Cor. 9:6) God is more concerned with the attitude of our heart that the size
of our gift. When I was highly addicted I called my favorite ministry to pray about
finances. The minister asked if I had anything to give. She said, It doesnt matter if
its only a few dollars. I think I had $7 in my bank account, I gave it and saw my
circumstances change quickly. Of course, that small amount of money wouldnt
have amounted to a drop in the bucket to help that ministry.

A short time after that, I started making it a priority to give 10% of my money to the
ministry which had me so much every week. While I believed God would bless my
giving, I was not giving to get nearly as much as I was wanting to bless the minis-
try that had helped me so much, although my weekly check did little more than pay
my bills and buy my food. That money was still not a drop in the bucket in compari-
son to that ministry needs but it was a meaningful expression of my love for them.

At that time, the addiction would pound me very heavily on payday within an hour
or two of getting paid. The anxiety, stress and physical symptoms were incredible
so I only had a short period of time to get my bills paid and get the money out of my
hands or I would be going to get alcohol & drugs. But whenever I would get my
money order for 10% of my check and get it in the mail Gods grace protected me
from the addiction. It wasnt that I had bought my freedom by giving the 10%, but
by operating in love and being faithful Gods grace was able to shield me. I was
putting my heart in Gods hands in doing so.

Gods work is about giving, not just of money, but of our time and everything that
we are. What we give to others on Gods behalf with a glad and willing heart will be
blessed and multiplied. Gods word says that he can multiply what we give up to
One hundred fold (Mark 4:8, 4:20 & 10:30, Matt 13:8, 19:29, Luke 8:8, Gen
26:12). One hundred fold is actually more than 100 times. If you were to take a
piece of paper and fold it in half one hundred times and then counted all of the
squares it would probably number in the millions. God is not limited and mainly we
are limited by our small thinking.

19
The Power of Our Words

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that
love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Our words release either life or death, one or the other - either blessing or
cursing. Its one thing or the other.

Jesus said in Matthew 12:36 (KJV) "But I say unto you, that every idle word that
men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment."

This scripture shows us that there really isnt such a thing as an idle word. The
NIV translates the word used to say idle as careless. All of our words mean
something and have an impact. No doubt careless is a better description and the
correct translation there. Also the subconscious mind is very powerful and it is pro-
grammed by the words we speak as well as those spoken by others good or bad.
Faith comes by hearing and of course we hear our own spoken words. So when we
speak about ourselves or others we are building faith for either positive or negative
things, blessings or curses, and power for those things is also released when we
speak. This is true in regards to what we speak both about ourselves and about oth-
ers or things that are in our

These are some examples of prayers of ones I have prayed for anyone who might
need a start at praying over these things.

During my work day, I have often prayed blessed are all of my storehouses and
all of the work of my hands (Deut. 28:8). When I would feel any sense of dis-
couragement and that almost always produced results.

Finances
Heavenly Father, I thank you that as your word says, I am blessed in the field and
blessed in the city and You bless the work of my hands in everything that I do. I
thank you that you are blessing all of the seeds I have planted and multiplying them.
I thank you that you meet all of my needs according to your riches in Glory in Jesus.
I command money to come to me from the North, the South, the East and the West
in Jesus name. I have seen this work in a crisis a few times.

Persecution
Father, I thank you that no weapon formed against me will prosper and that you
make me to be at peace even with my enemies. They come in one way and go out

20
seven others. Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. I thank you
that you make me to serve only you, wholeheartedly and with single-minded pur-
pose which is what I desire.

Illness or Injury
Sickness (naming it specifically) I command you to go in Jesus name. I command
the fever and swelling (symptoms) to go. I command healing to flow to (the affected
part) Father, I thank you that by Jesus stripes I am healed. I thank you and praise
you that your word is true, but the devil is a liar.

I prayed a similar prayer to the one above repeatedly along with praying in the spirit
when my finger was slammed in a van door. The injury was quite significant, a
blood blister formed and my finger was swollen to twice its size but within about 10
minutes or so it was healed and all of the pain and swelling was gone.

The Right Way to Talk & To Minister

Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but
that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the
hearers. Our ministry to others is always to be positive, to build them up and not
to tear them down. Grace is the ability to make positive change and to pass
through negative circumstances unharmed because of the love and forgiveness of
God. And when this speaks about the hearers it is NOT just speaking about the
church but about to every human being.

The Ministry of Reconciliation

John 3:17 "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but
that the world through him might be saved.

It was not condemnation that Jesus ministered but Gods love and mercy that he
showed to the multitudes and individuals as He healed all who were sick and af-
flicted of the devil.

2 Corinthians 5:19 "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto
himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us
the word of reconciliation."

Jesus not imputing peoples sin means that He was not holding it against them. So
He also wasnt scolding them or going around and pointing it out to them. He was
21
telling them that God came to save them and give them a more abundant life (John
10:10).

It is the Holy Spirits job to bring conviction to believers, not ours. And we are never
to minister guilt and condemnation regardless of the person or situation, although if
a person is doing wrong and does not know it sometimes but only at the direction
of the Holy Spirit, we should point out the error and provide a solution. Both things
are needed in such cases and correction is only to be given by people who are spirit-
ually mature and guided by the Holy Spirit. Galatians 6:1.

The turn or burn approach to ministering to unbelievers (or anyone) is wrong in

almost all cases and drives people away from God instead of to Him. Its the kind-
ness of God that leads people to repentance. Romans 2:4. If we minister to
people on the street, at church or at the work place and we should be we need to be
blessing everyone we minister to, both believer and unbeliever.

Just as I was getting ready to make a teaching video on the subject when I had to go
take care of some business. When I was at the transit station waiting on a bus I saw
some people passing out tracts.

I walked around a little and saw a man in a wheel chair and asked if I could pray for
him. He told me that he was an ordained minister and had many people pray for him
and that a tumor is what put him in the wheelchair. I told him that he should let me
pray for him and said Do not be surprised if something happens this time. As I
was praying one of the young couples that were passing out turn or burn tracts
walked up. When I had stopped praying, they asked if I was a Christian. I told them
yes. They said that they came down there from time to time to pass out tracts. I just
smiled and said, There is a better way. I was hoping for an opportunity to disciple
the couple a little, but then the man in the wheel chair, who seemed to be really en-
joying my ministry started talking to me. As I told him that God could heal him
even if he wasnt believing and that I had seen an atheist healed recently the young
couple left the transit station at a very fast paced walk.

The Kingdom of God is 100% positive and so should our speech be. We need to
avoid all speech that is either negative or judgmental of anyone. In some cases, we
will need to state that a behavior is wrong but we can do that without judging the
heart of another person. This also applies to institutions. We are never to say that
evil is good or that good is evil (Isaiah 5:20) but we need to take the word
hate out of our vocabulary. This is because even if we are speaking about an insti-
tution or a place when we say that we hate something we speaking a curse over
22
ourselves that dispositions our subconscious minds to react negatively to persons or
things in those places.

As we die to the self-centered thinking of the old man and our agendas Gods love
and His plan for our lives begins to manifest more and more and we automatically
and effortlessly begin to operate in the things of Gods kingdom, which are all posi-
tive.

Chapter Three

THE ROLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT & YOUR TRUE

IDENTITY
John 14:16-17 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another
Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom
the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but ye
know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you.

The role of the Holy Spirit is the comforter or the helper. When the word
speaks about Him convicting men of sin it is speaking about the sin of rejecting
Jesus. Although He may nudge us in the right direction if we start to make a wrong
turn. His job is not to condemn us as so many Christians seem to think, but it is to
help and comfort us.

John 14:26
"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my
name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you."

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit or a second filling and speaking in tongues.
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is most often evidenced by speaking in tongues, but
not always. That isnt because God wants some people to speak in tongues and oth-
ers He doesnt want to. Paul wrote that not everyone speaks in tongues, but almost
surely, as it is today, not everyone had been baptized in the Holy Spirit either. In the
Holy Spirit we have every spiritual blessing (Eph. 1:3). Speaking in tongues,
which are the least of the gifts, like any other gift operates out of faith. A person
can-not operate in something they have no faith for. So if a person doesnt have
faith to speak in tongues because of wrong believing or teaching they will not. You
have already been given that gift and in your Spirit are all of the gifts. Just simply
believe. We see the gifts begin to manifest as we grow in our knowledge of the
truth.

You are designed and gifted by God to have a special and unique purpose in
the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:27-28 (KJV) "Now ye are the body of
Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first
apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts
of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Even if it is something
as simple as a gift of hospitality you do have a gifting from God for the purpose
of being of service to God and helping others, but in your Spirit is every spiritual
gift. 1 Corinthians 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every
man to profit with all.

In your spirit you have all wisdom, knowledge & power. (Col 2:2-3, Mark 6:2)

24
1 Corinthians 14:4 he who is speaking in an unknown tongue, himself doth edi-
fy, and he who is prophesying, an assembly doth edify;

The gift of tongues is for the building up of the inner man of the believer who is
using that gift. It is the only gift given to primarily benefit the user but God also
uses that form of prayer to bless others, as He prays in their behalf and God also
empowers us through it to be more effective in our ministry to others. As we are
built up in the inner man, we are better able and more empowered to help others.
Although, I never expected it to work that way, some of the biggest miracles I have
seen in praying for others happened almost immediately praying in tongues for a
few minutes.

In 1 Cor. 12:7 shows God gives every believer spiritual gifts and that the reason that
He does is so that we can bless others through the use of those gifts and of course so
that we may benefit also by the spiritual gifts of others in the church. It also gives
revelation to the fact that in our spirits we have all spiritual gifts.

1 Corinthians 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to
profit withal.

Those of us who have asked in faith to be filled with the Holy Spirit have all of the
gifts of the Spirit but obviously the difference is - and the reason we are to desire
the greater gifts - is that allows us to operate in them to a greater degree and as there
is need. When we want something strongly we are more ready to use it and use it in
the way that it was intended to be used.

Speaking in tongues is the least of the gifts, but it is also very powerful and very
essential to operate in Gods power. If you havent spoken in tongues yet ask for it
in faith and you will receive that gift. Praying in tongues makes it possible for us to
pray exactly the right thing when we have no idea of what to pray or when we feel
like we cant pray. It strengthens the inner man and gives us wisdom and direction
supernaturally.

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all
that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

God's power is unlimited. We are mainly limited in our power to do all of the things
God wants us to do, which includes walking in His supernatural power and seeing
miracles come to pass, by our carnal minds and our ability to trust in God's power to
work in us. God can and will do for us and others far beyond what we can ask or
even imagine as our minds are renewed with His word and we walk with Him in
faith and love. A good example of this is when I prayed over a homeless ladys hips
and God also healed her broken toe although I didnt even know she had one.

Hebrews 10:10 By that will we are sanctified through the offering of the body
of Jesus Christ once for all. Jesus paid for all sin: past, present and future sins.
25
Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made
a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree:

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

All spiritual blessings includes everything we could ever need including our physi-
cal or material needs because our supply of all things spiritual and natural comes
from the realm of the spirit.

Ephesians 1:4
According as he hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world,
that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love:

We are holy and blameless when God looks at us because God sees the Spirit of
Christ in us not our sin.

Fruits of the Holy Spirit

Chapter Five
PUTTING YOUR FAITH IN ACTION

In spite of whatever shortcomings a person may have, every believer has the
blessing of God and His authority over the forces of the devil. Romans 11:29: "For
the gifts and calling of God are without repentance". Sin or negative sowing can
harden our hearts towards Him, but God never takes away His blessings, although
sin and or a hardened heart can block us from being able to understand that we are
blessed and walk in those blessings. Sin can also give the devil an inroad and a legal
right to do much harm to us if we fail to confess it. But God will cleanse us when
we confess sin to Him (1 John 1:9).

Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made
a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree

Through sin, doubt and unbelief (and also wrong teaching which brings those
things) we can open up the door for Satan to do his worst and we also need to be-
lieve what Gods word says and operate in principles of faith in order to prevent
curses from being able to have place in our lives. But God never places a curse on
anyone for violating the law as He did in the Old Covenant, prior to the atonement
of Jesus, although the enemy will bring them we give him opportunity. But we have
all authority over the devil. The more that we understand this as we walk in Gods
love the less opportunity he has to touch us in any way. The solution to bondage
always is in knowing the truth of who we are and what we have in Jesus. And that
also requires us to take our authority over the enemy.

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by bearing our curse for us. Now,
through Christ, God never places any curse on us although we all violate the law in
some way.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our
iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we
are healed. The healing produced by Jesus bearing our stripes includes our
physical healing.

Matthew 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the
prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

1 Peter 2:24: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree that
we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were
healed.

Jesus payment for our sins also includes healing.

27
The Faith You Were Given
Every Believer Has Been Given Gods Supernatural Faith

When you received Jesus and were born again, you did it with the supernatural faith
which God gave you as a gift so that you could receive Jesus. That was not your
own faith, but the faith God gave you.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of your-
selves: it is the gift of God:

Romans 12:3
"For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you,
not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly,
according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith."

We who have been born again all have the same measure (the measure) of
this supernatural faith.

Great Faith vs. Little Faith

We can operate in great faith or little faith, but we all have been given the same
amount measure of faith. Great faith speaks about faith that is not polluted with
doubt or unbelief and little faith is about having faith that is easily diminished by
what we see in the natural. Little faith is when we allow circumstances or what we
see in the natural rob us of our faith. To a large extent operating in great faith is
about making a choice to believe and not doubt. Big faith is when we are able to
stay in faith and not be affected by circumstances. As we renew our minds with
Gods word and those faith principles contained in His word we are better able to
walk in faith and do that more and more consistently.

When we are believing Gods word and His promises without doubt and unbelief
we see miracles come to pass and Gods power is able to flow through us unob-
structed.

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all
that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

A little faith unpolluted by doubt and unbelief is great faith.

Luke 17:6 (KJV) And the Lord said, If you had faith as a grain of mustard
seed, you might say unto this sycamore tree, Be plucked up by the root, and be
planted in the sea; and it would obey you.

In Mark 11:23 Jesus speaks about believing and not doubting in our heart. It also
shows that you can have faith and unbelief at the same time. For verily I say unto
you, That whoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou
28
cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those
things which he says shall come to pass; he shall have whatever he says.

If we are believing something firmly in our heart its possible to have doubts pass
through our mind as long as we do not focus on those thoughts, but reject them
and still see the miracles or what we believing for come to pass. But if we are
doubting in our heart or if we speak out our doubt that will cancel the power re-
leased through our faith. Mainly the power or the effectiveness of our faith has to do
with what our focus is on and what we choose to believe in our heart and we release
that faith by speaking in accordance with what Gods word says.

If we speak out a doubt that enters our mind that releases a negative opposing
force against our faith which is likely to nullify our faith which was released.

The unbelief of others is NOT an excuse for our faith not working. We see peo-
ple we are praying for healed in spite of them having great doubt & unbelief and
even with those people stating that they do not believe in God or that God can heal
them. We see atheists and even Satanists healed all of the time when we do not al-
low anything to effect our own faith and we operate in love, overcoming offenses,
doubt & unbelief. But sometimes I believe that in the case of a Christian we may
need to minister forgiveness and repentance prior to casting out demons or laying
on hands to see them healed if its obvious there is a problem.

Before Jesus was resurrected, we see that even Jesus could do no mighty miracles in
his hometown. Its been taught that it was because of the unbelief of those around
Him. But it appears that they were also in strife and envy and did not want to be
healed because they were offended. This, I believe is the real answer, rather than
the unbelief of others being the issue. God does not violate peoples will or force
them to accept His love or provision. They have to be willing to receive or want
those things. Sometimes mockers get healed because they are mocking out of unbe-
lief. But being offended and unwilling to receive healing as a result of that is a
different issue, but God even heals those people sometimes.

Mark 6:3-5 "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James,
and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? .
And they were offended at him.. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not
without honor, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own
house. And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon
a few sick folk, and healed them And we see here that in spite of their unbelief
(v.6) Jesus was still able to heal the sick. Mark 5:40 also seems to confirm that of-
fense and lack of willingness are the core issues. Mark 5:40 And they laughed
him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he took the father and the
mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entered in where the
damsel was lying. And then He re-stored the girl in the following verse.

Through faith in Christ we have access to all of Gods blessings.

29
Proverbs 13:22 (KJV) "and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just."

2 Peter 1:3
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto
life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory
and virtue:

Deuteronomy 28:3-13 (KJV)

"Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit
of thy cattle, the increase of thy kin, and the flocks of thy sheep.
Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when
thougoest out.
The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten
before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee
seven ways.
The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all
that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the
LORD thy God giveth thee.
The LORD shall establish thee a holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn
unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and
walk in his ways.
And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the
LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and
in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the
LORD swear unto thy fathers to give thee.
The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain
unto thy land in his season, and to less all the work of thine hand: and thou
shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be
above only, and thou shalt not be beneath

The Authority of the Believer

Every believer has been given authority over all of the works of the enemy. Once
again, regardless of where we are in our fight of faith and our walk with God the
gifts and calling of God are without repentance (Rom 11:29) and upon receiving
Jesus we also received power and authority over the enemy in conjunction with
Gods word and purposes.

Luke 10:19 -20

Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and
over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you.
30
Nevertheless in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but re-
joice that your names are written in heaven.

We have been given that authority to enable us to do Gods work. Having authority
over the enemy and using that authority is important and it pales in comparison to
right relationship with God. But we have been given both through the payment of
Jesus.

Matthew 10:8
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons: freely you
received, freely give.

Its Jesus and the power of His name that gives us that authority. Its Gods power,
but He has given us His authority to act in His behalf. All that is required for any
demon to flee is that the person using the name of Jesus is born again and that he or
she uses that authority and the name of Jesus with faith and in accordance with

If you are born again, you have this authority regardless of how many mistakes you
have made. It is not contingent on our comparative goodness, which is just self-
righteousness: (Isaiah 64:6, NIV) "All of us have become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;" speaking about our own works apart
from Jesus, but the good news is now we are not apart from Jesus.

Casting Out Demons

There is no demon in Hell that cannot be cast out using the name of Jesus with faith.
When Jesus said in Matthew 17:21: Howbeit this kind goes not out but by pray-
er and fasting. He was not talking about a certain type of demon that goes only
when we fast and pray but He was speaking about this kind of doubt and unbe-
lief which was the reason the apostles the apostles could not cast it out because of
their natural doubt and unbelief when the demon did not go immediately Matthew
17:20 And Jesus said unto them, - Because of your unbelief -: for verily I say
unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this
mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing
shall be impossible unto you.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall
they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

We do not need an open heaven. The kingdom lives inside of us through the Holy
Spirit. That is one of the many major advantage of the New Testament is that be-
lievers who lived prior to Jesus going to the cross did not have.

The most notable experience I have had so far in casting out demons was with a
man who was seated at a table by himself in the lobby of a meeting place. As soon
as I saw him I knew that he was demonized to the point of being possessed. His
31
eyes were bloodshot as he rolled his head around incoherently and obviously in a lot
of pain. He was unaware of me or anything else that was going on around him.

I went and sat at the other end of the table, but not facing him and began praying in
the spirit very quietly so that neither he nor anyone else around could hear me. As
soon as I started praying the demons in him began cursing at me profusely. So again
very quietly but with all intent I commanded them to go in Jesus name, but nothing
happened and he continued cursing at me and rolling his head. So I commanded
them to go a second time and nothing happened. The third time I said, I am not
asking you, I am telling you, get out of him right now in Jesus name. still speaking
very quietly.

Suddenly the man became perfectly still and he stopped saying anything. The de-
mons had gone. His eyes were clear and he was no longer in pain. He was unaware
of anything that had happened. Amazingly when he got up to leave he carried the
crutches that he had walked in on. No doubt he was using them because he had been
in pain but now the pain was no longer there.

The Power of Praise

When we are praising God we can feel our inner man strengthened and a greater
sense of physical and mental or emotional wellbeing. Gods power flows when we
are praising Him from the heart with a joyful spirit. Also there is little which repels
Satan more than when we praise God. He hates praise to God and wants it for him-
self. Praise and Gods word are our two offensive weapons against the enemy.

Of course good, positive Christian music helps us to sing and worship God from
the heart. But not all of it is good, some is filled with Old Testament scripture and
ask God to give us things that Jesus already gave us. Its amazing how listening to
great Christian music, or even better yet singing along with it can completely
change our attitude when going through tough moments in life. It was when Paul
and Sirus were imprisoned after just being whipped and beaten that they began sing-
ing and praising God that all of the prisoners chains fell off and the doors of the
prison were opened. Praising God will also set us free if we get into depression,
which is also a stronghold for doubt and unbelief.

The Great Commission

After rising from the grave and just before ascending back into Heaven Jesus gave
us the great commission (Mark16:15-18) through His followers telling us to preach
the gospel (and in many other verses to tell them that Gods kingdom has come) to
every creature on Earth. And He told us to heal the sick and cast out devils in His
name. And when He spoke that these would be the signs of them that believe.

One of the great things is that this is a multiplication process. Many of those who
are touched by Gods power will be led to know Jesus and will then many of them
32
will do the same for others. This is what the true gospel is all about. Its about mani-
festing Gods love and power on Earth that it may grow and be multiplied. Perhaps
not all will have the opportunity to travel the world and preach the gospel, but all
who believe it from the heart will be used to share the gospel with people they meet,
heal the sick and cast out devils. Its not that we have to do those things but that we
are blessed to get the opportunity to.

Laying Hands on the Sick

Matthew 10:8
"Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have
received, freely give."

Luke 10:9
"And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is
come nigh unto you."

Our ministry wasnt meant just to be inside of four walls, but everywhere we go and
this is for every born again believer.

These Signs Shall FOLLOW THEM THAT BELIEVE

Mark 16:17-18 "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name
shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up
serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall
lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

Of course we are not supposed to play with poisonous snakes or drink poison for
entertainment or to prove something to others, which is what mockers suggest we
do, which would also be tempting God. But Gods word is absolutely true and
those who truly believe will end up laying hands on the sick, see those people re-
cover and will cast out demons.

Its not so much about knowledge or maturity. It is simply believing that we begin
to see Gods power manifest through prayer. You will see these same types of
things happen.

Healing Testimonies
I am relatively new to the laying on of hands and praying for the sick compared to
some. But here are some of my favorite, healing prayer experiences:

33
MAN IS HEALED OF BACK PROBLEMS AT WATER MACHINE

I was waiting for my turn to fill up my 5 gallon container at a water machine when a
man from Mexico walked up behind me. I sensed there was something wrong with
his back although there were no visible signs. When I asked him he said he had a
problem with his discs. I prayed and asked him what he felt. He said It feels warm
back there. I knew that was God healing him. As I was walking away he repeatedly
thanked me. Because his English was a little weak I turned around and simply said,
By Jesus stripes you were healed.

HEALING OUTSIDE of STORE... MAN STANDS UP FOR THE FIRST TIME IN

4 MONTHS - AFTER AN ATTACK WITH A BASEBALL BAT.

The man about 60 years old was sitting in his wheelchair scratching lottery tickets
when I tied my dog up next to him to go inside the store. He was having fun
scratching the tickets and laughed when he saw curly tailed Raotis (my dog) smiling
at him. I was in a bit of a down mood and almost decided that because of that it
wouldn't be wise to pray for him. But when I came out he was still sitting there. As I
untied my dog I heard a voice inside say "So what is your excuse for not praying for
him? He is right next to you."

He told me that he had a broken leg, so after getting his permission I placed my
hand on his leg and prayed a short prayer. When I asked, he said he felt "tingling"
but still felt some pain. I prayed again and the pain left. I said "I'll bet you could
stand up right now if you wanted to." He said "It's been 4 months." So I said the
same thing again and he was able to stand up.

It turns out he had been attacked walking home from the post office when 3 young
men ran up to him to rob him and one of them hit him in the leg with a baseball bat.
He also had a metal pin in his leg as a result. I asked if He knew Jesus. He said
"Yes, a long time ago." I said, Well you can know Him again. He is working in
your life right now."

HOMELESS LADYS BROKEN TOE ALSO IS HEALED WHILE I PRAY

ABOUT HER HIPS.

She walked with a hobble as she came over to see my dog. I assumed she had a
problem with her hips and when I asked about it she said that she did have a prob-
lem with them as a result of a childhood injury, but she didnt go into detail. So I
prayed and commanded her hips and her bones to be made whole in Jesus name.
Then I asked her if there was anything else that she needed me to pray for. She lift-
ed her leg a little and curled her toes, hesitated for a second and said with a tone of

34
surprise, UmmI think you already did..I did have a broken toe. So God also
healed her broken toe and I didnt even know that she had one. Thank you Jesus!

A SURPRISE - AND MIRACLES AT CHURCH IN THE GHETTO.

Although one or two of my suggestions were implemented for the church outreach,
I hadn't been to that church in a few weeks - so it came as a surprise when I walked
by there one evening and found out it was going on then. I also hadn't been to that
church but a few times and did not know any of the church members personally.

One of the first persons to get healed was a Mormon man with a hip problem who
was walking with a bad limp. He saw the gathering and walked up to see what was
going on. After being healed he was crying and wanting to give money to the
church. Most likely he will visit the church again as he said. Almost everyone I
prayed for - I think about 8 received healing, about 5 of whom were church mem-
bers.

One of the ladies there, who was a church member and had an injury to her knee
steadfastly refused to let me pray for her. But right before I left I approached her
again. I said God has healed almost everyone I have prayed for tonight. I know you
have pain. You should let me pray for you. One of the men who was sitting next to
her who had been watching me told her that was true.

But she still refused, saying that she would let her friends pray for her. So I told one
of the men to put his hand on her knew and told her friends to repeat after me.
While we were praying she received a partial healing and for some reason the guy
who had his hand on her knee jumped up and ran into the church so I pointed at her
knee and commanded it to be made whole in Jesus name and told her to check it.
God had completely healed her knee. Amazed and with her mouth wide open in
disbelief she thanked me.

MARIJUANA SMOKING TEEN GETS HEALED AT PARK.

It was after dark and he was sitting at a bench underneath the park cabana with his
girlfriend. You could tell they were very scared when I walked up. That was proba-
bly because they were smoking marijuana. He told me that his back was messed
up and that he was in a lot of pain. But when I asked if I could pray for him they
both laughed at me and repeatedly told me no.

So I said, Thats ok. I am going to pray for you whether you like it or not. Again
they both just laughed at me. So I just pointed at his back and commanded it to be
healed in Jesus name. It was hilarious to see the look of amazement on his face a

35
minute later when he turned around and realized that the pain was completely gone.
Then I was laughing on the inside.

ATHIEST IS HEALED.

Im not sure why she let me pray for her chronic back pain because afterwards she
told me that she didnt believe in God and didnt think anything had changed. This
gave me an opportunity to pray for her a second time before leaving. I said, Its ok.
It doesnt matter whether or not you believe in God. He is real. He loves you and I
believe you are going to be healed in Jesus name. The next time I saw her she said
that her back was well and thanked me. We didnt have time to talk, but Im sure
she is no longer an atheist.

MANS SHORT LEG GROWS OUT AND HE IS HEALED WHILE HE IS

STANDING UP

He was working in a convenience store and I could tell he was in great pain as he
cringed with every step and could barely walk. I asked if I could pray for him and
he said ok. I was going to have him sit down and command his leg to grow out as he
said one leg was shorter than the other when I asked him about that.

This was something I had never done before but I had seen it done in videos. We
looked around for a place for him to sit, but the only place for him to sit was the
counter by the register which was too high so I said, Thats ok. We are going to
pray and get this taken care of right now anyway. So I prayed in Jesus name com-
manding the short leg to grow out and his back to be healed. He was instantly
healed. He was no longer walking with a limp and went back to stocking the shelves
completely free of any pain.

CIRRHOSIS, PANCREATITIS, PAIN & SWELLING INSTANTLY HEALED.

I was at a small church group meeting. There were only 3 others in attendance. One
of them was a man around 30 years old who had Cirrhosis of the Liver and Pancrea-
titis as a result of many years of alcohol and drug abuse. He told me that he had
great pain and swelling throughout his body. I places on hand on his belly and the
other on his shoulder. As I commanded the conditions to go and his organs to be
healed he began to cry. God had taken every bit of pain and swelling away and he
was healed.

God will work through anyone who believes in Jesus and His willingness to work
through them. It is Jesus and the Holy Spirit who do the healing and get all of the
glory.

36
Matthew 17:20 "And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily
I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this
mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and NOTHING
SHALL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO YOU."

One on One Healing Prayers

When praying in person or over the telephone most of the same basic principles
apply and I have seen (heard ecstatic testimonies) of people I prayed for over the
telephone healed also. Of course praying in person often gets better results because
we can lay hands on the person we are praying for but Gods power knows no limits
of time or space.

In Jesus Earthly walk and ministry, and that of the Apostles, we see that He laid
hands on the sick and in the case of demonic spirits He simply commanded them to
go. Of course we always want to use Jesus as our example, though we also learn
from other men of God. But whether we just pray a prayer of faith and or lay hands
on the sick as circumstances and the leading of Gods peace would indicate, our
effectiveness mainly rests on our knowledge and belief (faith) that we have the
same authority over the works of the devil that Jesus does. It has little or nothing to
do with any other virtue that we may have or whether or not we may presently have
physical or other problems. It only requires that we have a simple faith in these Bib-
lical truths which are the words of Jesus.

We also dont have to have peace to pray for people and how we are feeling should
not stop us. I have seen a few times when I didnt feel like praying but the people I
prayed for were healed anyway. As a matter of fact those were some of the greater
miracles. On one of those occasions it seemed like the devil was attacking very hard
to make me feel uneasy and out of touch, but I went ahead in faith and saw the two
people that I was praying for set free from a multitude of problems and pain.

In one of Todd Whites videos he talks about although he was unable to receive
healing for his injured knee through prayer and had to have surgery, during the
same 6 week period of time he saw 36 people with very similar injuries that he
prayed for completely healed. Many of those were at doctors offices he was visit-
ing.

Though I am certainly not the most experienced in this area I would estimate that
regardless of the problem I have seen an instant manifestation of healing probably

37
about 80 of the time when praying for the sick in person, and I have seen that some-
times people will receive their healing a day or so after I pray for them. I do not
pray for everyone I see with a need at this point and some of the bigger problems I
have seen less results with, but Gods word is the standard, not my experience. Alt-
hough we are empowered to do even greater works than Jesus as Gods word is
always true, unfortunately as far as I know, no one sees 100% positive results as
Jesus did. But again sometimes healing will manifest at a later time. Over time as
we grow in our faith our results also increase. But you can and will see amazing
results if you believe. Our job is to stay in faith and not give power to what we dont
see with our eyes or experience in the natural realm. God, the Holy Spirit and spir-
itual law are master and above all and will do beyond what we imagine.

When approaching people on the street, with or without any prior conversation, if
its not obvious that they have some kind of a physical problem I will simply and
casually ask, Do you have any pain or anything in your body that is bothering you
right now? I have been surprised that the majority of the time I ask they do, even
though a lot of times you would not be able to see that. Recently, I heard that it is a
statistical fact that about 80% of people suffer from some kind of physical problem
that causes pain. Then I simply ask Do you mind if I pray for you about that real
fast? Its been to my amazement that people give me permission about 95% per-
cent of the time. Often times (depending on circumstances) I will go ahead and pray
out loud for those who do not give me permission, without touching them and often
they are healed also.

Here are some simple steps. Do these things in faith and I am sure you will see re-
sults. These are just general instructions as the Holy Spirit will be your guide:

1) Identify the root cause or problem. We can do that by simply asking the
person we are praying for. By the time we are done we should have identi-
fied and prayed for, every significant problem the person has, one at a
time.

2) Ask to find out where the pain and or problem is and what caused it.

3) Speak to the problem (mountain) the name of the condition and any related
issues such as pain, infection and command them to go in Jesus name.
Preferably when possible, you should place your hand on the affected part
of the body you are speaking to. But do not worry if for some reason that is
not practical. In such cases you can simply point at it or hold their hand.

38
4) Thank God for the person you are praying for and the healing He is doing
as you command the problem and pain to go and the affected area to be
healed and made whole in Jesus name.

5) Tell the person to check themselves and move around to see what hap-
pened. After praying ask the person about what they are feeling in their
body and if there are still or symptoms and if they have noticed any im-
provement. In most cases, there will be improvement if not a complete
healing.

6) Continue to pray and check for symptoms at least one or two more times if
needed, until they are all gone or until praying does not produce more posi-
tive results.

What you should NEVER do if you dont see results.

If you do not see results, never tell the person being prayed for that they were not
healed because they do not have enough faith. That is a horribly wrong thing to do.
By doing that we are bringing guilt and shame to them and hurting them rather than
helping them. Jesus said these signs shall follow them that believe not those that
are being prayed for. Also, if we do so, by speaking out the doubt that they were not
healed we just cancelled the faith that was released for their healing. Likewise we
never say that it didnt work even if the person is no longer around. Again, if you do
that you cancel the faith released and give the enemy legal right to bring the prob-
lem back or stop the healing which will most likely happen also.

After Praying for the Person

After praying for a person that we see healed we should be sure that we are not
attaching strings to their healing, but if they dont know Jesus of course we want to
lead them in a simple prayer but without any pressure, if we sense they might be
open to it. If they are open to it we might also casually know about teaching re-
sources that might help them (including a good church or fellowship they can attend
if we know of one) remembering that not everyone has a car or a computer, particu-
larly street people of course. You might of course, which would be wise in most
cases, if you can, give them a copy of this book.

It is the Holy Spirit who does the work in their hearts after they are healed, so we
want them to have space to enjoy their healing experience, not making them to feel
39
any sort of pressure to do anything and as a co-laborer with the Holy Spirit, we en-
courage them.

I was healed for the first time many years ago, after a simple prayer I prayed in the
middle of a parking lot, of a painful and progressive foot problem, although I knew
the job was finished, it was only a couple of minutes before the pain and symptoms
came back. But through the Holy Spirit revelation God had just given me I knew
that it was just the enemy so I prayed the simple prayer I prayed the first time to
rebuke him and it instantly went away. Satans forces tried to bring it back several
times over the next several months and I would just confess the same thing Father I
thank you that by Jesus stripes I was healed, Your word is true and the devil is a
liar. and the problem would always go away immediately.

About six months after my first healing I was instantly healed of a hernia I had giv-
en myself moving a huge crate, after about 10 nights of pain, by praying the same
simple prayer. And that time it never came back again. So sometimes the problem
will try to return and sometimes it does not. In some cases, if not most cases, at the
leading of the Holy Spirit, we should let people know that if the problem returns
they need to command it to go in Jesus name and that it will go. If the devil brings
back a symptom and the person speaks out doubt about their healing as a result the
enemy will very most likely bring the problem back.

If you havent yet had experience in laying hands on the sick, believe Gods word,
read these instructions and get them established in your mind and see yourself doing
these things in your imagination. I also highly recommend watching videos on You
Tube that show people being healed through prayer. It isnt so much about exactly
what we say or do as it is about our faith, but it helps a lot of the time to have some
basic instructions in getting started and in seeing yourself do these things.

If you seek help from other Christians in dealing with problems make sure that they
are speaking to you the positive truths of who you are in Jesus and what you have in
Him from God's word. And of course we need to always make that our focus also.

Speaking to the Mountain

and Receiving from God

The first thing I learned when coming back to God from a place of almost
total destruction, although I didnt know the scripture (Mark 11:22-24) was
the power of speaking Gods word to the mountain. I was walking home
40
from the grocery store with dog in one hand and groceries in the other. I
had a progressive foot problem and the pain was getting worse every
week. As I walked across the parking lot of the grocery store the pain in-
creased until I could not take one more step. I prayed a simple prayer,
Father I thank you and praise you that your word is true. By Jesus stripes I
was healed and the devil is a liar. I took another step without any fear and
the pain was completely gone. About 6 months later, after several nights of
excruciating pain I was instantly healed of a hernia praying the same simple
prayer. Since that time I have seen the majority of people I have prayed for
receive healing and in most cases instantaneously.
Mark 11:22-24 And Jesus answering says unto them, Have faith in God.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be
thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his
heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to
pass; he shall have whatsoever he says. Therefore I say unto you, What
things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them,
and you shall have them.
Of course when Jesus says mountain He means any problem whatsoev-
er. So this applies to every area of our lives or anything that might be a
problem. Although the results are not always seen immediately they will
come to pass if we stay in faith until they do, not doubting. Jesus cursed
the fig tree (Mark 11:12-24) but it wasnt evident that the tree had died
until the next day when He and the Apostles were walking past it again.
But although I had seen great results in applying this truth, many times I
lacked the knowledge of Gods word to effectively apply this truth in other
areas. Of course my hope is that people who like myself dont always have
the best memory will keep this book nearby and apply it daily. I think mis-
sionaries or those who minister on the street will find this a great tool for
both prayer for and ministering to others.
Although my battle and my journey in getting to this point has been long as
I have had so much bondage to get rid of and I didnt have the use of this
tool I have seen miracles in every area by applying this simple truth.
We should be speaking these things over our lives on a daily basis rather
than just when problems arise. But Mark 11:22-24 doesnt just apply to
41
getting rid of problems, but also in obtaining what we need in order to be
healthy in every area and to help and bless others. Whatever our starting
point these simple truths work when applied. Jesus never lied and He
didnt make any mistakes.
There may be some people who feel like that cannot honestly speak affir-
mations which do not express their current position in life, but that is what
faith is all about. It is about believing what God says is true even before we
see those things come to pass.
What we say has great power when it agrees with Gods word and we be-
lieve it. But even if you feel that believing such great things is beyond your
ability all that you have to do is be willing to believe. And as you continue
to speak these truths and affirmations on starting on page 43, which agree
with Gods word, you will start believing what you say. As you do that you
will start seeing great things happen.
Of course along with speaking the right things we need to step out in faith
as God enables us and activate our words with simple actions.
We live in the most perilous of times, which makes it all the more im-
portant that we begin to operate in the supernatural power of faith. God is
preparing His people for the things to come, but we need to be moving in
His direction. He is happy to give us His supernatural guidance, protection
and power. But it is usually when we use what God gives us that He gives
us more.
Jesus said that no one can enter the kingdom of Heaven unless they are
born again. If you are not born again please dont put it off any longer.
Simply thank Jesus for dying for your sins and invite Him to take complete
control of your life.

In our new lives of faith we need to change both the way that we think and
the way we speak. The following section contains powerful prayers and
affirmations. We should be praying and speaking this way on a daily basis if
we want to grow as much as possible. I put together this section for myself
as much as for others.

Health & Healing
