This document describes dissipation factor tan δ standards used for checking the accuracy of capacitance and dissipation factor measuring instruments. The standards consist of a standard capacitor in series with precision resistors to produce tan δ values of 5x10-5, 1x10-4, 5x10-4, and 1x10-3. The resistors are housed in separate casings that plug directly into the standard capacitors.
