Describe an ideal project environment for the full use of BIM, what
are the enabling factors? Make reference in your answer to people
involved, competencies required, collaboration and processes
used. (25 marks)

(a) Describe adoption in terms of BIM uses in NZ construction
industry. (5 marks)
(b) Describe adoption rates in general in NZ construction industry. (5 marks)
(c) Provide one example (project) where BIM has been implemented
in NZ by describing the project and the use of BIM in the project. (15 marks)

List and describe three (3) different uses of BIM as described in NZ
BIM Handbook Appendix D and state what are the benefits or
difference compared to the traditional (non-BIM) methods. (3 x 5 marks)

(a) Describe the main features of the software and how it could be
used in a BIM project? Choose one (1) of these software: Trimble
Connect, Autodesk 360 Glue or Tekla BIMsight. (10 marks)
(b) What are the main features of Autodesk Navisworks Manage
software? (5 marks)
(c) What are the benefits of using Autodesk Navisworks Manage
instead of conventional technology? Are there disadvantages or
potential pitfalls? (10 marks)
