Chapter 1 Introduction
1.1 Principle of measurement
This Bio-chemical analyzer is mainly used for the quantitative analysis of the clinical
bio-chemical items. its working principle follows the Lamber-Beer law:
A=Kbc=lg(I 0/I)
Among them:
A: Absorbance
K: Absorbent coefficient
b: Thickness of the Liquid
c: Solution’s Consistency
I0: Incident light’s Strength
I: Transmitting light’s Strength
According to the above formula, if the liquid thickness and the incident light’s strength is
fixed, as long as we get the intensity of transmitting light which goes through the liquid, we
can calculate the consistency of the solution.

Chapter 2 Instrument Installation
1. Working condition
KD700 Biochemistry analyzer is a precise electronic instrument, in order to make the
instrument working normally and get the accurate results, the environment must follow
with certain requirement, such as below:
Environment temperature: 10°C~30°C
Relative humidity: 20%～80%
Atmospheric pressure: 86KPa～106Kpa
Ground-line: It should be a special ground-line for the medical instrument; while
connecting to the earth, the resistance must be less than 0.5Ω.
Additional requirements: the instrument must be put on a platform which has enough room,
also be stable and level without any vibration. It must avoid fans and air-conditions, and so
on, in order not to affect the accuracy of temperature control. It is forbidden to put in the
environment with high temperature, big sunshine or much dust. And do not put it away
with centrifuges, refrigerators or thermostats or share a same power socket with them.
2. Instrument Installation
1) Open the instrument’s packing box. Check carefully to sure the instrument,fittings in the
box match with the packing list . If there is any absence or damage, contact with the
suppliers in time;
2) Take out the instrument carefully after checking, and then put it on a stable, smooth
working platform;
3) The apparatus back-panel sketch map is shown below; connect the display to the VGA
port, keyboard to the KB port, and mouse to the mouse port.
4) Take out the power lines, connect one side to the power jack which is in the middle of
the back panel, then connect the other side to the three phase power socket which has
the earth-line;
5) Find a waste bottle; put the waste tube which is in the back panel into the waste bottle;
6) Use a beaker or other container to get a cup of DI water;
7) Turn on the display and the power switch in the back panel, press ‘Power’ key in the
right side of the mainframe to turn on the apparatus.
8) Double click the “KD700 Biochemistry analyzer” icon in the desktop, or click “Start”,
then “All Programs”, then click “KD700 Biochemistry analyzer”.
9) Incubate at least 15 minutes after turn on the instrument;
10) While entering the measure interface, please follow the English instruction.

Chapter 3 System Login
Before you enter the “KD700 Biochemistry analyzer” program, system will initialize at first.
After initialization, login interface will appear as below:
The user name lists all the doctors in the clinical labs (the information of the doctors can
be edited in the “doctor info” page of “utility” form )
When the “user Type” is administrator ,you can operate all the function of this apparatus.
When the “user Type” is operator, you can measure, edit and print the result report. But
you havn’t the right to edit items, groups, doctor information and basic information in
“utility”, and some operation in the measure interface, such as right click to edit item,
check the result report.
If the doctor information(refer to chapter 9, “doctor info”) has not been set up, the system
default user would be “system administrator” and “system operator”.
After inputting the correct password(the default password is 123), you can enter the main
interface.

In the main interface, you can see 8 buttons: ‘measure’, ‘report’, ‘Q.C.’, ‘Program’,
‘utility’, ‘help’, ‘exit’.
Click button, enter the measure interface, and measure.
Click button,enter into the result report interface, then there you can edit
patient information and print report.
Click button, enter into the ‘QC’ interface,there you can take the QC
operation.
Click button,enter into the setup interface, where you can setup parameters
of each Test.

Click button,enter into the group edit interface,where you can combine the
function-related Tests, so that you can directly select them while measuring and adding
results.
Click button, then enter into the system maintenance interface, there you can
set and revision temperature, ASP Volume, observe ADC, measure absorbence, set alarm,
set basic info, set doctor info, set report format, etc.

2. Select test for measurement
Select test in the tests list or select test in the tests list of group
3. Edit patient information
In the patient information column, please input or select a patient ID in the Patient ID
ComboBox If the patient information has been edited
which displayed includes the number, name, and type, sample No. and sample type. If
there is a new ID, will display the default value.
4. aspirate and measure
1) Wash pipe
Select a new test, there will be a cue in the cue line in the bottom.
Click , or press the ‘aspirate’ button under the aspirate needle, it will begin
to aspirate the clean solution to wash the pipe, if you want , you can click
button to wash the pipe again.
2) aspirate DI water
While beginning to measure the first sample of the test, the cue line will suggest you that
‘Ready for aspirate DI water’. Absorbence of DI water is need to adjust zero,
click button, zero again.
3) aspirate Blank
If test requires measuring reagent blank or sample blank, the cue line suggest that ‘ready
for reagent blank’ or ‘ready for sample blank’, when test is operated the first time, or test
parameter be changed, Click ‘aspirate’ button to absorb blank. if you want to re-measure
the blank, you can click or .
4) aspirate Standard solution
The test require measure the standard solution when be measured the first time, or test
parameter be changed, the cue line suggest that ‘Ready for aspirate standard’; if the
method of the test is multi-standards, the cue line will suggest “ready for aspirate STD1”,
“ready for aspirate absorb STD2” … in turn. If you want to re-measure the standard,you
can press button.
5) aspirate Sample
After DI water, blank and standard (if required) solution had been measured, the cue line
will display that ‘Ready for aspirate sample’, when sample is ok,click ‘aspirate’ button, the
sample solution will be measured. After measured, the cue line will display ‘ready for
aspirate sample’ again; if select ‘ID Increasing’, the patient ID will automatically add one. If

selected ‘Fixed Patient Type’, the newly increased patients will keep this type.
5. Result display
All the result will be displayed in the right side of the bottom of the interface.
Blank line: the result of reagent blank and sample blank using non-kinetic method is
original value, while using kinetic method is the difference.
Standard line: after the STD solution be measured, the ABS volume will displayed at the
ABS column, and factor will be calculated according to the standard absorbance, then
display at factor line.
Sample line: after sample solution had be measured, absorbance and result will be
displayed in the ABS column and result column.

6. Program test and edit result report in the measure interface
Select test, click by mouse right , then you will get the pop-up menu, like below:

Select ‘Test setup’, you can program test, if you want to know how to program test
refer to Chapter 6-‘Program’ .
Select ‘Results of the test’,a form will show all results of the test had been measured
today.
select one result of today’s measured results , click right mouse , then you will get the
pop-up menu, like below:
Click ‘Patient information’ and you can edit the report of the patient,you can refer to
Chapter 5-‘Result setup’ to know how to edit patient report.

Chapter 5 Report
you can edit patient info, sample information and result in the report interface In the
main interface click to enter ‘report’. The report interface has two page one
is test page and the other is patient page
Test page: the table in the left is list test ID and test name, select and click one,
information of the test will be showed at the top of the right side; the table in the bottom
will list result of the test had been measured
Patient page: in the left of the screen, the table list the patient ID and name, select and
click one , the information of the patient, and the tests has been measured and the
measure results are displayed in the right side.

Edit report step by step
1. Edit the patient information
Select and click one at the patient ID list, then information of th patient including age,blood
type,Bed No.,Department,address,tel will be showed at the top of right. And the diagnose
given by doctor will be show underside.
If the patient ID is newly, the information of this patient is all blank except the patient
number, so you can edit the name, age, blood type, sickbed number, section office,
patient address, clinic diagnosis of the patient in the patient information column.
Add report When the patient list does not have the required patient ID, press
(the shortcut is “Ctrl+A”), or right click in the patient list table, select ‘New Patient’ in the
pop-up menu , then you can edit information of the Patient
ID,and you can press to saved change.
Delete report Select the patient ID. which you want to delete in the patient list, press
(the shortcut is “Ctrl+D”), or click mouse right in the patient list
table,and you will get the pop-up menu,and click ‘Delete patient ’,you will delete the
patient.
Save report press (the shortcut is “Ctrl+S”),or you can click ’Save patient’ at
Pop-up menu to save change.
2. Edit sample info
Several samples maybe refer to the same Patient ID. The samples refer to the same
patient ID list at the sample ID list ,you can select and Click one of sample ID in the
sample list, then information of the sample will be show at the panel , include sample ID,
sample type, doctor, sample date,Referred date, etc.
If you click ‘Add sample’ to add sample,the default ID. of the Sample is to add one of the
large number of the exisit sample ID.
If the sample ID is a newly sample type and the sample date,referred date should be all

default volume.
There is a pane in front of the sample, while ticking this pane means this sample can be
printed, contrarily means not to print it.
Add sample press , or click mouse right to select ‘Add sample’ from
the pop-up menu

Delete Sample press , or right click the sample list, select delete
sample from the pop-up menu.
3. Edit result
choose and click one sample ID, the result table will list all the measure refer to the
sample ID and the patient ID.
Add result the results measured by the other apparatuss can be added to the report by
‘adding result’. When press , or click mouse right in the result table, then
select ‘add result’ in the pop-up menu, so that can enter into the add result interface.
Delete result choose one or more result items to be deleted in the result table, press
, or click mouse right in the result table, then click ‘delete result’ in the
pop-up menu.

Adjust result position If you want to adjust the item order in the result report, you can
select the item, press or , make the result table in a order you
want.
After finish edit all the info, press button or use shortcut ‘Ctrl +S’ to save the
modification.
4. Print report
Select samples and results to be printed.
There is a small pane in front of each sample item or result. item
Click the pane, then a ‘√’ will appear or disappear.
When the pane has a ‘√’ in it, this sample item or result item will appear in the print and
print preview, contrarily they won’t appear.

Select the patient ID in the Patient ID list, or press ‘SHIFT’, then click the report to be
printed, and then press , or select Print’ in the pop-up menu
while right clicking the report. And if you want to preview
the report, press .

Chapter 6 Program
This chapter mainly introduces how to programe parameter of test while first time to use it.
every time change the reagent.,we suggests that you should follow the reagent instruction
to programe parameters again.
Press in the main menu to enter this interface.
1. Parameter setup
In the left side, there is a test list, choose and click one, the concrete definition is displayed
in the right side. If this test parameter has already been programed, the concrete
parameters will be displayed, these parameters are default values.

The Test ID, test name and the test method are all should be input, while select different
test methods, parameter require to be changed.Test can be measured in the apparatus

when it’s method is KINETICS, END POINT, NON-LINEAR END-POINT, MULTI STD,
TWO-POINT, SAMPLE BLANK, DUAL WAVELENGTH, CALCULATE method should
depend on other item’s results to calculate, while if test method is qualitative,it should
measure by other apparatuss, then add result in report
The concrete steps of inputting parameters are shown below:
select Supplier, batch No. and validity of reagent into the line.
Select methods to measure this test.
In the drop-down menu, select the test method.
Input the test parameters. Like the qualitative analysis, only need to input the normal
value range. Like the CALCULATE, only need to input the equation and the referrence
value range; like KINETICS, END POINT, DUAL WAVELENGTH, MULTI STD, FACTOR,
TWO-POINT, they all need to input the right parameters, these parameters can be
obtained from the reagent instructions.
3) Decimal digits: the decimal fraction digits the result can have.
4) If use KINETICS, please find the test coefficient and fill in ,
ranging from ‘0--59999’.
5) Select or input the right unit in .
6) Choose the right temperature volume in , you can choose
‘37oC’, ‘30oC’, ‘25oC’ ‘room temperature’ three temperature control states.
7) choose the right Primary filter in there are 340nm, 380nm,
405nm, 505nm, 546 nm, 578nm, and 620 nm 7 filters .
8) Input the right ASP Volume in according to the
instructions.
9) If test require reagent blank and sample blank, click the pane in front of the ‘reagent
blank’ or ‘sample blank’, then a ‘√’ appears in the
pane. 10) postponed time,Interval time, Data number and linearity range.
11) Input referenced range of test;
12) Standard: if method of the test is END POINT, one standard is required; KINETICS,

don’t require standard volume; TWO-POINT, one standard is required.and MULTI
STANDARD ,the number of standard is required by instruction of reagent.
About other parameters: the print level is a random number among 1-99999, test arrange
of report print or preview according to print level from low to high, the tests which have the
same level must follow the item ID.
2. Add, delete, and save Test
If want to add a new test, click , or click mouse right click at test list, then
click ‘add test’ at the pop-up menu , or use shortcut ‘Ctrl+A’.
The default test ID. is to add one to the current highest test ID, the default test method is
END POINT, All the parameters but test ID can be modified, the Test ID once been saved
cannot be modified.
When to delete test, press , or click mouse right click at test list, select
‘delete test’ in the pop-up menu, or use shortcut ‘Ctrl+D’, then can delete test selected.
save test, press , or click mouse right at test list, select ‘Delete test’ in the
pop-up menu, or use shortcut ‘Ctrl+S’, then can save the test.

Chapter 7 Group Set up
click at the main interface, can enter into the group setup interface.

Select one group in the group list, if want to modify the group name, input a new name
in .
The list at right side shows all tests of the group, if you want to add new test, please select
one test at middle list, then double click mouse at the test, or click ;
delete test of the group, select test,then click mouse double or click . Then
you can click or use shortcut ‘Ctrl+S’ to save change

2. Add, save and delete group
add new group, click , or use shortcut ‘Ctrl+A’. The new group ID is the
highest group ID plus 1, group name is blank and no test in the new group em. The group
ID can be modified, but cannot overlap with the ID already exist.
save new group or modified group, click , or use shortcut ‘Ctrl+S’ in the
group list to save the definition.
delete a group, select a group and click , or use shortcut ‘Ctrl+D’.

Chapter 8 Q.C.
Click to enter into Q.C. interface. the aim of quality control is to check and
control the precision of the instrument while working, monitor stability; heighten the
consistency of the test results, so that to ensure the reliability of the measure result of
each sufferer sample.

Test list in the left of the Q.C interface, all tests which can do quality control, and in the
right side, it shows the QC parameters and QC results.
1. QC parameter
Choose and click test in the test list, the parameters of QC test will be showed in the top
of right side. The QC parameters are divided to QC!,QC2 and QC3, parameter including
Lot, target,Deviation and Supplier. After that, click to save the QC parameter.

2. Refer to QC result
When select a Lot , the results refer to the Lot will be shown by a table and a curve (when
the number of results over four)
While you click ‘table’, the results will be shown from the first to the last one by a table
format.
Click ‘curve’, the curve mode regards the average of the QC value plus SD as upper limit,
average subtracting SD as lower limit. Connecting all the QC value as a curve, you can
observe the QC value falling in which area.
3. The procedure of QC measure
In the QC test table, select one test and select Lot,QC Type (QC1, QC2 and QC3) cue
column in the bottom of the interface will suggest:
click button or shortcut ‘F2’ to aspirate clean solution, after that,cue line
will displayed ‘Ready for DI water’, after that it will displayed ‘Measuring’, then will suggest
‘Ready for aspirate QC solution’, and then begins to measure. At last it will show the
absorbance and result in the result line in the bottom of the left side.
If there are more than 4 QC results in one batch, it will show the times, mean,SD and CV.
4. Operation to the QC result
If you want to delete a QC result, in the QC result table, then select the result,
click or click mouse right then click in the
pop-up menu or use shortcut ‘Ctrl+D’.
If you want to delete the whole results refer to the same Lot and same test, choose the lot,
click or use shortcut ‘Ctrl+F’.
5. Report setup and preview

Chapter 9 UTILITY
There are ‘temperature’, ‘ASP Volume’, ‘ADC’, ‘Absorbence’, ‘Alarm’, ‘basic info’, ‘doctor
info’, ‘report list’ 8 pages of utility .
1. Temperature
The set temperature is the temperature that the flow cell should keep when it isn’t at
measure.cell temperature is temperature measured by sensor
thermometer temperature is the temperature measured by thermometer.
When you want change set temperature, input new volume, then
click .
Revise temperature: If you want to revise temperature measured by sensor and
thermometer click , and then it will suggest you inputting the
protecting password(123). This is to protect the temperature revise factor from being
modified at one’s will. After you input the password,temperature page will appear like
blow:

Please fill in the thermometer temperature blank line with the temperature value
measured by the thermometer, and then you press ‘Revise Temperature’ button to
calculate the temperature revising factor. The system will adjust the temperature and
make it approach to the actual temperature.
2. ASP Volume
Revise the ASP Volume: input the quantity you want to aspirate theoretically in the ‘theory’,
then click , after that you can survey real volume has been aspirated, fill
it in the ‘real’, then click , that can revise the aspirate factor.
Update Clean asp volume: input the volume at the edit column then click .

3. ADC
It displays the instrument’s internal AD convert parameters, for the repairman to use.
4. Absorbence
The aim of The absorbence measurement is to examine the variety of the absorbence at
different period, and then the system will revise it in order to make the result more
credible.
Click to begin measure absorbence, the screen will display ‘ready for
aspirate DI water’,click or use shortcut ‘F2’ to aspirate DI water, you can

get Raw data and absorbence after having measured at first filter. if raw data in normal
range, cue will suggest ‘OK!’, else if raw data is abnormal cue will display ‘failed’.then the
next filter will be examined, the process finished at last filter be examined.
5. Alarm
The aim of set Alarm is to give user there may appear some abnormal instance in his
operation.
The Deviation between Blank and Std ABS—the Deviation between blank and standard
absorbence: When measuring the standard in the measurement interface, if the deviation
between blank and standard absorbence is less than the set alarm volume, it will suggest
‘Std Absorbency over range,try again? ’.
The Deviation between sample and set temperature: if the deviation between the sample
temperature and set temperature over set alarm volume ,the temperature will be show at
measure or Q.C. interface in red color .
6. Base info
The base information has saved the parameters of instrument set

In this interface you can edit all the info, including adding or deleting unit, department,
blood, sample type, duty, the title of technical post, test name and so on. Or you can add
new items, sub-items or delete items and sub-items.
click to save after any modification, otherwise the modification would
be invalid.If the database happens to serious trouble, it needs to adjust the state of the
database to the leaving factory settings, just click . Attention, all data of the
patient information and item information would all be lost.
7. Doctor info

To edit doctor information, input or select the name, sex, duty, title of the doctor . doctors
of clinical lab it needs to input password because they need input the password to log in
this program.
8. Report list setup
you can set Header, hospital address, remark,fax and tel of report.input these, if it’s blank
the print and preview of the report won’t be display. Front setup: the report title and the
text will be printed and displayed following the setting front.

Chapter 10 Maintenance
1. Maintenance
It is important suit reagent to instrument,so that instrument can work normally and
measure result reliable
In this chapter. The method of how to maintaining of the KD700 Biochemistry analyzer will
be introduced, please follow , to be sure the instrument work normally
1) Maintenance for every day
Clean the cell and piping with DI water repeatedly after measuring sample every day ,so
to get rid of residual reagent and protein of surm especially remains of flow cell.
Finally,flow cell and tube should be full of DI water.
2) Maintenance for every week
Clean the piping twice with DI water after measuring sample, then aspirate the CLEAN
solution three times (Main Component: NaClO, diluted to 5%), let the CLEAN solution stay
at the tube for 10 minutes, and then clean the piping with DI water for 3 times. Finally, it
should be full of DI water.
3) Cleaning instrument’s appearance
Wipe the instrument appearance with wet cloth (Turn power off, and pull out the power
socket).
Attention: Clean the instrument with clean water，neutral or non-causticity clean solution,
but do not use organic solution or hot water, otherwise instrument will be distorted or
damaged.
