How to sign documents
with Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader

IMPORTANT NOTE
Adobe provides two software solutions for working with PDFs:
Acrobat (Pro and Standard): paid
Reader: free, with limited functionality
The configuration and signature instructions are the same for Acrobat and
Reader (slides 4−15).
If you are using Acrobat you can sign any PDF.
Older versions of Reader only allow you to sign PDF documents with signature
permissions; in order to be signed with Reader, a PDF must have been created
in Acrobat, as explained in slides 22−25.
Reader XI and later versions allow you to sign any PDF.
