Answer the questions below Name: Amna Ahmed Alblooshi
Competence Sustained Teaching
Introduction -Warmer Describe the setting, the grades you taught and explain the
purpose of this placement:

I want to the Alsalamah kindergarten in Umm Al Quwain for this

semester it was awesome. I attend two different class English and
Arabic. The student in KG 2 was huge 24 students, but the children
in this class lovely. The classroom was fabulous, there are a lot of
activity and center and locker for everybody. The school has the
library, and computer room, Playground, and restaurant for the
student to eat there.
Professionalism How did you demonstrate professional behavior as a trainee
teacher in the school? Explain how you maintained your
professional status not only in your own classroom but also across
the school.
I did demonstrate professional behavior to show them that I’m a
real teacher not only a trainee. In the begging the principal said
that you all have to be in the time I listen to her and respect her. I
wear abaya and look like a real teacher, and come before 7;30 to
work with my teacher. In the break, I was with the teacher in
playground watching the student. Also in the break time, I was
with the other teacher listing to there opinion about the life and
about teaching. Also sometimes I help my Arabic teacher in the
classroom, for example, sit with the group and observe them. For
the tripe, the English teacher was absent I volunteered to go with
her to take care of the student. For the bus student and the car
student I ask her can I take them because she was tired, she was
so happy that I help her and that what the real teacher does. I
always say inshallah for any things she asks me to do I have never
fit with her because I as trainee have to respect MST.
Planning for Learning (including What difficulties did you face in planning seven differentiated
Knowledge and Understanding lesson plans to ensure that they included a range of activity types
of Content) for the whole class, groups, and individuals
The difficulties that I faced in planning for the seven lesson was
creating different activity for each center, I try to have for each
lesson new idea for the activity for example for the letter H in the
math center I give them hart to count and classify by the color but
for the letter R I used different way for the activity the student will
classify according to the letter. That takes a long time to do it and
according to Froebel, the teacher should learn the student by
playing. And also the technology in this class some time doesn’t
work so I use my plan B which is IPad for my lesson.
Implementing and Managing Explain what you did to make sure that your modeling /
Learning (including behaviour demonstration of the tasks you set your students was clear and
management, language, and effective.
delivery)
I did many things to make sure that my modeling is clear and
effective. I make sure that I have the model for all activities before
the class, and for the activity, I try the activity with my little cousin
in the home to do the activity and I fix if there is a mistake. In the
class first before the student goes to the center I explain all
activity by doing in front of the student first and I put model for
each center to make it clear what should they do. For the art
activity, I put model I did it making letter H for example.
Monitoring, Assessment, and What strategies did you use to monitor student progress across a
Evaluation range of connected teaching sessions including class, group, pair,
and individual work

I used strategies to assess the student in the different subject, for

example, I have a checklist for each member of the group so if
some child has a problem I write his name down, and after the
break, I teach the student by using flash cards, games, IPad.
Reflection on Practice Which teaching strategies did you find were particularly effective
and explained why with reference to educational theory and/or
experience?

There are a lot of teaching strategies effective. For example, for

the activity I ask the student what would you like the activity will
be next time and ask them before the lesson do you want to take
letter know or reading story according to Dewey children should
be involved in making decisions about what they learn. That helps
me as the teacher to build a positive relationship with my student
and let them be part of the class.

In the classroom, I let the student do the activity on their own and
I only guide them. That helps me to know how to have the
problem and also it was an effective way for the student to learn
by their own, and deal with the problem and depend by himself
also work in the group will help them communicate with each
other. The teacher guides the student according to Vygotsky
method.
