Shaft Alignment Practice

This document provides guidelines for properly aligning shaft equipment, including pre-alignment check points such as ensuring coupling hub and shaft runout is within specifications and that there is no soft foot. It also lists recommendations for the alignment process, such as using stainless steel shims no more than 5 per support foot, with the shim stack not exceeding 12mm and one shim being at least 3mm thick, and notes about centifugal pumps and hold down bolts.
