The teacher observed an English language lesson which followed the typical structure: 1) A start of lesson where the teacher reviewed previous work and introduced a video to present new vocabulary. 2) A main activity where students were divided into groups to reinforce the target language through different hands-on activities. 3) An end of lesson review where the teacher assessed student understanding and had them clean up to music before dismissal.

Observation Task 5: English Language Lessons

Observe an English language lesson. If possible, try to obtain term/topic plans and a lesson plan. Make notes
about what the teacher does and photograph (with permission) and note what the children do in each of the
stages of the lesson. Create a table which clearly illustrates this.
