Ban 500, 1000 Notes - Corruption Uprooted or Just Changing Clothes!
Ban 500, 1000 Notes - Corruption Uprooted or Just Changing Clothes!
The introduction of 2000 rupee note. It is true that now the higher value of the currency can be
carried without much effort and 2000 rupee notes are more prone to become the victim of the
parallel economy. But we have to understand the real scenario. GOI had completely banned 500
and 1000 rupee note and that is why about 75% of the total cash amount of Indian economy
vanished. So to compensate this crisis Indian economists decided to stabilise the economy by the
introduction of 2000 rupee note within a short span of time. The time is taken for the press to print
a 100 rupee note and 2000 rupee note is same but by printing 2000 rupee note, it could pile up
enough cash to stabilise the economy quickly, otherwise, it produces a negative impact on GDP
and it could result in a severe economic crisis.

On 9th November, 16 government announced demonetization of 500, 1000 notes nd the reason
given for this move was uprooting of corruption and wiping out of black money but in my opinion
this ban was like just changing clothes because the black money in 500, 1000 currency notes
constitute barely 1-2% of total black money in the country and those who were having undisclosed
money deposited their money in different accounts under different names to evade tax so the sole
purpose of fighting black money was defeated and 2000rs notes made it more convenient for
people to store the money.

Hello friends,
I think, to remove corruption we should start it from us, just like if you caught by traffic police then
what is the first thing came to our mind is corruption, and we have no problem at that time, so
remove this all types of habits, system will change automatically we are common people and we
are ruler, just support anyone when he/she stands for truth provide him/her power for the victory of,
common man. And as concerned to currency I didn't think it works in a right direction,

Demonetization is very sharp step taken by the government but they fail to implement it, according
to some of the statistics there is only 3-4% Black money is removed from the country but what
about else and also during this movement middle class people suffered a lot but I want to say it is a
good initiative towards our country.

I think it's just changing clothes because you can't stop corruption by changing currencies on the
different time period. You should ask an economist what effect will be on the GDP. The economy
will be deprived, he will never support such type of decisions from government. The lesser the
currency the better for the chance of growth.

Hello, everyone.
Politics, politicians, nowadays, these two words are becoming for a name sake for getting popular
people become politicians. Rather than that no political parties are genuine to remove the
corruption. And it's the time to ban 500, 1000and step1 is done by Modi sir which is becoming a
problem to the middle class people very much but at the ending, success will be a big thing to all
the people by deleting corruption in the country. I think it's a very good thing for our country.

Yes, Demonetisation is a good thing to happen. The reasons behind this are to make India
corruption free country and also to make digital transactions more familiar to the public. Until now
everything is fine. But, did it happen exactly as what they thought to happen? I don't think so. Only
5-8 % of the black money has been demolished. What about the black money which is in the form
of lands, buildings, illegal activities. Even though banning of 500 and 1000 rs notes is a very good
idea, I strongly say that implementation was not done appropriately. This will not happen only our
Prime Minister is willing to do so, but this will only happen when each and every individual involved
in this will act and operate without any scams eg. , bank employees, all politicians and many more
people. At the end, it is the common man who was suffered a lot during that two-three month of the
period. I personally, didn't see any politician, celebrity or any public figure standing in queues in
front of banks and ATM's. Did you people? Don't say me they would have run their day-day
activities through digital transactions which is NOT POSSIBLE! The worst part is, the very next day
of 2000 rs into the market, many politicians have lakhs of money in the form of 2000 rs. How is that
possible when the day limit to withdraw the money is 4000. It's possible only because of the banks,
which got corrupted. I like to conclude saying that Demonetisation is really a good idea, but would
have more impact if the implementation in a better way and also every personnel, involved in this
should be genuine enough.
Dear All,
Demonetization is a very bold and sharp move by Government. it might not get the result as
everybody is expecting but it shows the concern of the government that they are very serious and
strict against the Black Money.
But as per me demonetization was not a success full plan. Because it was unorganized by
Government and those who has the power and approach at bank authorities, they are used the
situation for their benefit.
At the time of demonetization the people have the access to the authorities started a new business
they are exchanging old currency to new currency for Few percent. By this black money holder got
the clear window and get rid of this Old note ban thing.

Hello friends.
As we all know that the corruption is the biggest problem not for our country its for all the country.
Every political party come into the election and give the guarantee to remove the corruption but
every one get fails into it. Because they tried to remove the modes of corruption and now there is a
bann on 500 and 1000 notes. But all we know the modes of corruption there are different modes to
make the corruption. So to control the corruption rate we have to follow the rules and regulation
made by our court. And if we break the it then we must have ready to pay for it.

GOI took the decision to Ban 500 & 1000. But how it is related to corruption?? Black money is not
only in terms of 500 & 1000. It is in the form of many ways like gold, land, foreign currency.. etc. Of
course by banning 500 & 1000 we can reduce the black money corruption, We have to realise the
how much it helpful to fight on corruption. At the same time, RBI announced 2000 notes currency.
It is very difficult to understand to common people that, one side banning 500 & 1000 to reduce
black money corruption, Other side releasing 2000 notes. However, common people faced many
problems by standing in front of banks/ATMs for cash. Still, common people are ready to face
problem to develop INDIA. And some of the people used digital transactions instead of cash
transaction during the demonstration period. Bank need to think that, India is developing as
DIGITAL India, by keeping this point in their view, Requesting to please reduce to transaction
charges. I support GOI if we are going toward growing country.

Demonetisation was a very brave and bold step taken by the government. Yes, it helped to reduce
corruption to an extent because people couldn't dispose of their unaccounted money they had and
the only thing they could do was to either declare their income and pay tax or dispose of. And
through this step bank got a lot of tax money which could be further used in the development. Also,
now people in villages also realise the importance of having a bank account. I know many face
very difficulties almost everyone but as it said desperate times desperate measures. It helped India
to look forward going digital and cashless. I wouldn't say it just changing clothes because govt is
taking keen measures and steps to make sure everyone pays his due tax. And the most important
thing in an economy of India such large taking a step like this without letting anyone know and yet
making it successful is very very difficult I mean our economy didn't stop. We should really
appretiate our government, banks and people for their efforts and support.

Demonetisation was one of the bold decision that government of India has taken till now. It was
done to take control of corruption, fake currency and terrorism. As demonetisation leads to many
difficulties to poor and middle-class people, that's also the reason that it was not appreciated by
many of the people.
Also, our government was seemed to be not fully prepared for that bold step.
Because of many of bank officials, most of the black money was turned into white. Some people
helps their friends and relatives to hide their black money. At the end, it was again us due to which
that step was unsuccessful.
So our government can't do anything alone until we are not committed to support it's preventive
measures.

Demonetization is a very brave step taken to eliminate corruption. The banning of Rs500 and
Rs1000 came as a surprise and shocking news for the people. Definitely, due to this corruption has
been reduced to some extent because it has become impossible to convert the black money
available in the form of cash to 100rs notes and moreover new notes were not released
immediately. This started to reduce corruption as we came across incidents like some big shots
revealing their black money to the media, some leaving bags of money in dump yards, some giving
donations in large amount etc. But yes there are certain disadvantages like the common suffered a
lot due to lack of money and lack of awareness of digital payments. In order to achieve something
great one should accept the sufferings. Thus, this step should be accepted by the people as it is a
move in order to reduce corruption. But after this step also we can witness corruption i.e. some
agents are exchanging the old notes illegally. Thus, the government should implement many bold
strategies in order to the curb corruption and the people also should support.
Hi friends, in my opinion, demonetization was a decision that was taken without considering its
future effects. As India is the fastest growing economy in the world and the GDP of about 6-7% the
government might have thought of taking this decision. But in a country like India where we are
used to cash transaction baning 500 1000 notes was a stupid decision. Balck money holders do
not have their entire wealth in cash. It only accounts for 20% of their wealth. They invest in gold,
land and they have enough way to hide their money. Hence this note ban has only caused trouble
for the common man who stood in the rows in front of ATM. Corruption cannot be uprooted by
baning notes and I would further go and say that it cannot be uprooted entirely it can only be
reduced.
Rate this: +7 -8
According to me, note ban is a quite good decision taken by the government, as it is also written in
our constitution that after a given period of time currency has to be changed to avoid corruption
and also black money.
But it did not help that much to the country as it was told. Because corruption will be there, now
with a new currency and also after a while fake notes again will be there in the market. So if we talk
about in long run there are not many advantages of demonetisation, but for some time as the fake
currency is not there, it will help in reducing terrorist activities as they are organised by that money
(fake currency).

According to me, demonetization is a great step taken by the government of India, but it without a
proper planning because of this middle class and poor people suffer a lot because of this people
take a leave from their job and stand a large queue in bank standing in queue it does not mean you
get the money because they not providing the money on daily basis neither they put in ATM and
after that their also a some corrupt employee in bank who don't want to reach money incorrect
hand, poor people suffer a lot because their earning depend on the daily basis and they also not
know how to use online transitions, corrupt people also find a way most of them invested their
money in land and gold for me demonetization is just like changing cloth.

Until now it looks like changing cloths. It seems that demonetization was just to annoy common
people.
I know people suffer a lot of problems but if Our hon. PM didn't take that step then the corruption
won't Be uprooted hmm to change our country to developed country just like the USA we have to
change our thinking.
People never see the bright side because they all possessed negative thinking.
I also request our PM Modiji to keep an eye on poor people too so that they wouldn't suffer.

Hello,
Demonization is a big step taken by our government and I support that because if we are asking
any person about ban 500, 1000 notes is a corruption uprooted step or just changing clothes then
95% people answered that yes we feel some problem because we have to stay whole day in bank
and not going to office or their place of work but even they says it is a great step taken by
Narendra Modi.
And of course as we all know if we want to change our country from developing to developed
country we have to face some problem but taken big steps as like demonization.
Thank you.
In my opinion, the corruption hasn't uprooted because earlier it was hefty to keep large amount of
money since the notes were small valued max at 1000rs so for 1 lakh the person had 100 note bills
of 1000 but now it has become much easier as the same value has been turned down to 50 notes
of 2000 so it is much easier for a person.
Secondly note ban brought alot of illegal exchanges of notes, there were instances where some
bank employees were exchanging notes at a rate suppose 8000 rs in new currency for 10000 old
currency so thus promoting corruption at certain levels.

Ban 500, 1000 notes - GOI taken a very effective step in the economy of India. They Ban old notes
which have a huge effect on corruption and people associated with corruption. Somewhere there is
a positive as well s negitive impact on the economy for demonitaization. As surprisingly PM
announced about the demonitization. It has a huge impact on Lower and Middle Class people. It
satisfies both that Corruption uprooted and somewhere it just a changing clothes.
Rate this: +5 -3
In my opinion, though banning old 500 and 1000 notes and releasing new 500 and 1000 notes
looks a lot like changing clothes but it does have served some purpose in uprooting corruption.
Maybe a major portion of black money have been converted into legal form by various means but
now this money would be taxed by the government, because of the shortage of cash parallel
economy is shrinking as most of the black economies are unbanked and operate through cash.
Rate this: +3 -2
In my opinion, I think it's just a change of clothes, if the project of banning was properly planned
then it would have been much better and no person would have lost their lives in this process. I
think it was applied in real hurry that's why even before printing the new notes the old currency was
banned rather notes should have been printed earlier to avoid this chaos.
Now, coming back to the topic its just change of clothes, recently I checked in to a hotel in Delhi,
the heart of India, and the manager won't accept credit/debit cards they just want cash, banning
can't solve corruption it's in the soil it can't be uprooted.
The Solution is just to ensure proper e-payments at every place so as to avoid corruption.

Some people have caught red handed but still, there are many who transformed their black money
to different forms such as properties (house, plot, farms) , shares, gold, petrol, automobiles. Some
illegally exchanged notes in banks by taking help of bank employees. Some people have given
poor people their money for few days and will later take their money back from them so that they
don't have to give an explanation to the government. Still, many people had a huge amount of
money so they had thrown it in dump pits, lakes, rivers etc. So, corruption is not uprooted, it has
just changed its clothes.

Major impact of demonetisation helped to curbe black money, terrorism, kidnapping and human
trafficking etc.
If effectively implemented with some other laws such as benami property law it will have grater
impact on long term economy.

I think, demonetization of India by pm was a great mission but we can't succeed 100% because
our political leaders have a huge amount of black many that's the way they are making the rule and

According to me, the ban imposed by PM on 8th November had a very huge impact on the most
corrupted people in india, because, they were high denomination notes and takin off the legal
tender of such notes would have definetly hampered. There is no other way to implement this type
of proactive step by GOI. And it is not the first time. Ultimate benefit will be always for us in the long
run. And we are not discounting the life of those 93 people who lost their life owing to
demonetization. One should remember. NO PAIN NO GAIN. It is one forward methord to curb
black money stashing and hoarding. Jan dhan accounts experianced a very huge hike in the terms
o deposits. This has also boosted digital India motive.

Rules made to be broken. So, I think its a bold decision with an experimental strategy or you can
say its a trial and error method. Reason No. 1: If we want to see changes in a positive way we
should support our PM's decision and give this govt at least 1-year time to judge this
announcement.
Reason No. 2: Every new thing comes with some positive and negative. For a temporary period
negative outcomes suffer us. But if we really want to give a big slap on corruption, terrorism, black
money we have to digest this small pain.
At current scenario, I am supporting our PM who really need us. If we want to see changes in the
system first start making changes in itself.
Then there will be no need to ban notes for this. Because every solution is hidden in their problem.
. Starts with yourself instead of pointing fingers to others decision. To participate in changes first
change yourself.

Hello, everybody.
The topic of discussion here is the one that recently has affected our country in every possible
aspect. In my point of view, banning 500, 1000 notes was a bold and thoughtful decision by
honourable PM, as it has to face a lot of opposition. But on other hand, it was a really good step to
stop hoarding money by so called paisawale of County as black money is stored mainly in a big
denomination. On the other hand, we can't say that with this step, corruption is uprooted. Because
it's a series of well-planned actions for a common goal. So we can say that it's a step we have
moved toward corruption free country.
Rate this: +8 -2
I think banning 500, 1000 notes its just a changing clothes. Because government does not make a
proper plan for that, in cities people know the online transaction, but in villages poor people
dependent on notes, and they not even know about online transaction, that's why because of
banning notes they poor people facing problems like marriage, medical, they not have money that
time and rich people have enough money to keep their life good way, and mostly corrupt people
invest there 80%money in gold or land and only 20%they access and storing the money.
Because of that demonitization is affected are mostly poor and common people, and corrupt
people enjoyed because they have lots of ideas to turning money to black to white. So I think that
banning the 500 and 1000 notes it just a changing clothes.
This drive has definitely uprooted the mind game of many blackmoney holders.
More effective defaulters who think that nobody will take action against their black money. This
intention has definitely reduced. People who were following their rools and becoming a defaulter at
small stage they have been uprooted completely. In a single line. The upgoing business on black
money has got a strock. Mostly in Pakistan and other nebouring contries who were easily printing
our currency. They may have printed a lot. But by ths drive the huge corruption has been closed.
They may print again our new currency but they have to keep in mind about this drive. Govt has
taken a good decision and should continue it in future. If we consider a common people who had to
faced dificulties in demonetisation. Actually keeping in view of the ongoing corruption he has
supported the govt willingly and happily. Burning of old notes, filing huge taxes, provide donations,
request poor people or own relatives to take loans without intterest these all show that the
corruption has got a little bit attack by the drive.

Demonetisation has not been able to create the effect it was meant for :
-> The initial propaganda attached with the move was to eradicate black money. Though, 14 trillion
out of 14.3 trillion rupees of notes scrapped are now accounted for, which means the black money
hoarders have proved adept to launder black into white. apart from using phony bank accounts,
corrupt bankers made sure to make the way comfy for big guns.
-> Demonetisation saw a spike in deposits in Jandhan accounts but a couple of months later stats
suggest those were mere proxy deposits and money is being withdrawn at an even higher rate.
-> Another stated goal of demonetization has been to fight counterfeiting of currency. It is
estimated that 250 out of every million note are fake and often claimed as a fuel for terrorism. This
may be effective for short term but it is almost impossible to completely eradicate fake currency
with current security features of note.
Yes, the demonetization is a bold step taken by our Government In some extent, black money
reduced by demonetization but if it has planned previously then it would be more effective in
decreasing black money. Citizens of our country faced many problems but if we want for the
development of our nation then we have to contribute some from our side. In the other hand,
people faced problems by standing in a queue in front of banks and ATM for exchanging their
currency. By demonetization the growth rate of the digital transaction has been increasing. Which
is a bold change in economy growth of India. So it was just not changing clothing. It changed a lot.

Hi friends,
In my point of view, The prime minister takes a good decision in 500, 1000. But most of the
peoples don't use 1000, 500. Maximum the political and rich business man's are using. The big
suffer from normal peoples for daily wages. Villages side's many peoples are suffering from this
decision. They don't know about online banking and then government rules and regulations. So
This decision is correct but corruption and black money are not reduced in the process, are
continue to the India. So the prime minister Modi action is not reduced in corruption and then black
money because the black money is safely in an abroad bank. So really affected for normal peoples
and then village side. The corruption is not uprooted it's not changed TO the cloths because of
Indians are not used in only Indian product, they are used in all foreign products so the economic
levels growing is not well. First of all, all Indians are using only the Indian product they got the first
place to the all the country because Indians are hard worKer and more than knowledgeable
person's but they are not using. This is the big fault for in my country. The many Indians are
working in abroad so in my country economic growing is not well. So Indians are come to your won
country. That's all my point view friends.

To ban 500/1000 Rs notes were good to ban suddenly even if poor and middle-class people
suffered so much but to ban these big notes was a big step to stop a major crime in our country
during elections because if a danger crime takes place so because of huge money.
But I would like to know that, why has the government not re-opened 1000 Rs notes?
I think the says might be that we are banning 500/1000 Rs notes and reopening 500, 1000 and one
more 2000 Rs note.

According to me, corruption is a very big problem of our country it is not completely uprooted by
demonetization but it is a very bold step taken by our prime minister. Due to Demonetization Indian
economy increased by 0.6%. In 2015 our GDP rate is 7.0% and now it is 7.6% so it can't be say
that ban 500, 1000 notes is just changing clothes. I agree that common people tackled many

Well, according to me, demonetization was a good move which went in the wrong way. It was
meant to dig out the black money, but I feel it failed miserably. So many cases of money laundering

All the black money holders are either having multiple bank accounts or they have their own
corporate banks. They have changed their currency in a huge amount by their personal banks. So,
I think only a common man suffers for demonetization and corruption only changed its clothes.
There are some advantages and disadvantages with this decision. Yes, there are chances to
eradicate some amount of corruption. But poor and middle-class people have aced so many
problems by standing in queues for so many days in front of ATM's. Some people had lost their
standing in the queues with the health problems, even old people also had faced problems. I think
this not the appropriate decision or this is not a right way to take eradicate corruption.

Few month back government had decided to ban existing 500 and 1000 rupees notes. In my point
of it serves different purposes like,
1. In India Tax evasion is a common thing, people deposit cash to not to give tax. Now it will bring
all those money into an economy system and the government will collect a suitable tax. Son
ultimately it is going to strengthen the economy.
2. Fake currency had become a headache for the government, now the government has changed
a lot of feature of its existing currency which is impossible to copy.
3. Terrorist organisation were using old 500 and 1000 rupees notes against our country for their
mission in our country. Now this move will rein on their mission.
And it has also benefited from pushing toward digital India and much more.

Demonetization has caused a lot of ruckus in our country. When our honorable prime minister had
brought to notice that high currency denominations will be discontinued from the midnight of 8
November, the whole country was plunged into chaos. The bold move taken by our government
has badly shaken all the corrupted people who have stacked a lot of amount in their lockers. For
some, it became a nightmare since they have done very hard work to earn black money (More's
the pity). The considerable part is the inconveniences faced by common people as they have to
lined up in long queues for whole day outside the bank for about a month. Many people have
criticized this move openly. Also, opposition parties have left no stone unturned to poisoned
people's mind against the move. This is true that demonetization has created a lot of hurdles for
common people, but what made demonetization interesting is that apart from all the anxiety that
people had, a huge part of population has come out to support it. The reason may be that
demonetization has created a hope among people that it will tackle the menace of black money.
But the sad part is that demonetization didn't turn out that effective to curb black money problem
because a lot of illicit wealth is held by corrupted people in the form of benami property, gold etc.
At last I would like to say that as a citizen of our nation, I think we need to understand that
demonetization is just a step towards removing the stigma of black money from our country. So we
should appreciate the government for its brave move and give full support so that government
could take some action further in future to eradicate black money problem completely.
I think one effect that de-monetization saw is uprooting corruption to much extent. India is a vast
country, so corruption also comes in that big size. And expecting that being uprooted in one go is
unfair. A big section of the black money in India is in form of 500/1000 rupees notes, thanks to
corruption. So banning these notes is, no doubt, a revolutionary step, by which black money
holders were bound to unfold their money. We saw a series of headlines stating a huge amount of
black money being seized by IT department. All this was possible only due to the ban of 500/1000
notes.
One more thing that can not be neglected is the boost to the digital economy with de-monetization.
Promoting cashless economy is another hit to corruption.
Summarising it all, I would say that corruption is a very big, deep- rooted problem of India. Ban of
500/1000 rupees notes is just a small but effective initiative to uproot it. Expecting complete uproot
of the corruption is unfair. We are surely going to see several more steps against corruption, some
of them already being implemented are limiting cash transaction to 2 lacs, seizing of benami
property etc.
So, first, our government has to show that the property deposited by the holders is not legal.then
the SWISS allows them to know the details of the holders.
But it is a time taken process.we have to wait for it. And if we come to disadvantages,
Common man has faced so many problems due to ban of 500 and 1000 notes.waiting at the
banks, standing in the queue lines at ATM etc. These type of problems made the people to suffer.
Now, almost all the problems related to the ban of 500, 1000 notes are cleared. Now, we have to
wait for how black money will come to reveal and how does it affects.

It's a historic step taken by the government at the centre whether it will be beneficial in uprooting
corruption is a matter of how one perceives this decision of demonetization of 1000 and 500 rupee
notes. According to me, it's a very bold move and with its implementation, the government has
shown great intent in getting away with corruption. Though the middle and lower class people of
the society are getting affected with this step but I believe it's a short-term pain with huge benefits
in the long run. Apart from it, the digital push encouraged by the government should be taken
seriously as it is Hassel free and quick to access though there are problems too with it as for the
people living in the rural areas are not well known with these technologies and they don't either
possess digital cell phones, laptops etc. To conclude I would like to end by saying this step taken
up by the government of India is a very bold step against corruption.
Whether this banning of the notes will be a success, will utmostly depend on the way people
perceives it and accordingly do their bit in helping the government and in return government must
also listen to people's grievances with regard to this demonetization cash crunch and should take
necessary steps.
In my opinion, the government has a set of ideas towards curbing the corruption and note ban is
just a step towards it. There were many people who have stacked the amount safe in their lockers
which has become useless. So if the whole idea to stop corruption would be just to ban the notes,
then it won't be efficient enough as it's just giving the head start to all those corrupted people.
But if as promised the government has planned well the further steps and also the government has
planned for the nation to become cashless in coming years, then I think this note ban will work
pretty well in that case.

According to me, Demonetisation is the most welcomed initiative by our government because it did
had an adverse effect on the corrupted politicians who were put into a bundle of misery. It does
bring change in financial state of the country especially considering the GDP.
It was the best weapon for the eradication of Black Money. Moreover, Demonetisation was the
Nightmare to all the cunning and the corrupted politicians.
Though the decision had caused the common people to struggle to some extent, Demonetisation
really helped in uprooting the corruption and we should welcome such changes which really help
the society in a great manner.
Hello, Everyone.
According to opinion demonetization, a step taken by Indian government against black money and
their holders is not an effective step, As we all know black money holder have their money much in
the form of gold, private property and in SWISS bank account. So just by banning 500 and 1000
notes, we are not uprooted corruption because what is surety that with new currency there will be
less or no corruption.
Hence by banning 500 and 1000 notes, we are just changing clothes because notes are notes.
Also instead of affecting the life of black money holder, it has shaken the life of whole Indian
economy especially poor people who have their money in form of cash.
Lastly, we can say that just banning 500 and 1000 notes not a major step toward uprooting
corruption.
Thank you.

First of all, I wasn't against demonetization but there were few points to be considered.
1. In 2012, central board of direct taxes had recommended against demonetisation saying in his
report " Demonetisation may not be the solution for tackling black money or economy which had
largely invested in the form of the benami properties, bullion, jewellery ". Further they suggested
that black money holder kept their assets in the form of property only 6% in the form of cash, hence
for curbing only 6% black money, this will become a big strategy.
2. Also, there were few practices of demonetization done in past in 1946 & 1978 which was not
fruitfull.
3. Demonetisation led to unavailability of cash to purchase food products this led to the sudden
drop in demand, hence food product price decreases. Hence, for a farmer it is very difficult to
recover transportation cost.
4. How much advantages achieved by Demonetisation are not disclosed by the government.
5. They don't take the preventive step because instead of releasing 2000Rs notes they should
release 500Rs notes first to ease common man pain.
6. How many currupt people arrested ? Why politicians not trapped , aren't they currupt?
Hi,
According to me, the demonetization move initiated by the Indian government and the central bank
of India is somewhat useful for our economy, I strongly disagree to those who said that this
movement reduced the GDP rate and it's a complete failure. But this point is on a short term view
of that. While considering a long term goal it is very useful and appreciable. It's a true fact that the
corruption here cannot be uprooted totally. But this move helped to reduce the corruption for a
20%. So I think it was a good move.
According to me, As every coin has two sides like wise peoples also have different perspectives. If
you are looking towards Indian economy if we compared our GDP with 2015 then you will come to
know that there is growth of 0.6 % previously it was 7.0% now it is 7.6%.
Through demonetisation not all black get demolished but few part of it get demolished and this
contribute alot in the growth of economy. In the drought of money government suggest us to use
cashless transactions during demonetisation, this again improves the growth of the economy and
reduce corruption. So, It is not just changing clothes it gives us a direction and some positive vibes
about changing our nation towards developed nation.
In my point of view, corruption is not totally uprooted it just controlled. Because still we have more
black money in our country.
According to me, it is very well known to us all that only 12% of black money were evaluated after
demonetization, the rest are in the form of gold, private property and swiss bank, so this major part
of black money is required right, and this is not the first time demonetization had occurred, so
creating these event just for political purposes is not fruitful, and because of this middle class or
poor get suffered.
So demonetization is not the right way for bringing black money back, there must be some other
way around without affecting the middle-class people and poor.
1) How much black money is eradicated? only 12%! Rest of it is still in the form of gold, private
properties and SWISS bank account. Just for this, you had shaken the whole Indian economy,
affected living of middle class and poor.
2) GDP had declined from 7.6 to 7.1% after the announcement of this act.
3) What is the surety that with new notes of 500 and 2000, no hoarding can be possible? Notes are
same, just the presentation that makes them different.
4) Not for the first time, demonetisation occurred in India, in 1946 (ban of 500, 1000, 10000) and
1978 (ban of 1000, 5000, 10000), and till now corruption had increased rapidly.
5) Statement of our former finance minister " If 86% of currency is immobilized, then the economy
can function".
So I think demonetisation will not prove so much fruitful as we Indians are expecting.
Hello everyone!
I will not say corruption uprooted completely but I will like to show some statistics. According to
world bank, India has 280 lakh crore of tangible wealth out of which 25% is black money. So it
comes out to be 70 lakh crore out of which only 10% is in the form of cash other is invested in gold,
real estate etc. So total black cash is 7 lakh crore. Now let say they have converted 80% of this in
white money still left with 1.4 lakh crore black cash that has no value. That's kind of a big deal, Isn't
it? Moreover, due to this move, the black money holders got some fear that government can do
something like that and that too so secretly. This fear is important. Banning note will also help in
reducing counterfeit currency which is being created in India and neighbour countries and funding
various terrorist groups. All the counterfeit currency is useless now and it will take the time to
produce technology for new counterfeit money till then no attacks and all in India. So I think that it
is a very bold and strong step by the government toward corruption.
The move by the Central government and the RBI to pull out the old Rs 500 and 1000 currencies
out of circulation is indeed a bold move, with the stated objective of hitting hard at corruption.
However, the hasty implementations of such a move have taken the country by surprise and we
are all familiar with the inconvenience it has caused. Now talking about corruption, we may be
inclined to agree that yes corrupt people have been caught and money in huge amounts
confiscated, according to media coverage and government revelations. However, we need to be
enlightened to the fact that the sharks swim deeper. Those with the power and reach don't stash
the money in their houses but dump it abroad. And only the small fishes fall into the net.
Also, thanks to confusions and misinformation, we are aware of people forging even new bank
notes. This has given a new face to corruption. People even are able to whiten their black money,
with some help. We can accept that corruption is a social state that can never be uprooted till
human greed prevails. Yes, the move is a welcome one, but a ton needs to be done still for
achieving the results the nation desires.

Corruption has its root deep. But after the cancellation of 500 and 1000 notes the rate of corruption
has somewhat decreased. One evident example is that after this ban approximately 1.5 lakh new
accounts in SBI as weel as 1.2 lakh new accounts in PNB has been opened. And several money
holders have invested heavily in automobile etc. The goal of the government is clear that whatever
money is being circulated in the market that money should be in record books of government. So
the more the accounts more the cleaner will be the flow of money. And prior to this ban,
approximately 36000000 crores of notes of 500 and 1000 were missing from RBI's record book. So
the value of that money is nullified as well.
So this move is not a panacea but it has checked the rate of corruption.

As our topic is demonetization I think PM Modi takes the good decision, and his decision is very
useful for our Indian economy, there are lots of corrupt peoples are in India they provide money to
the terrorist and in Pakistan there also they made fake notes so that all problems are now solved.
In India, there are so many peoples not paying their taxes in time. So because of this decision they
do not have any other option. And that's why now our Indian economy very strong compared to
other country's that Modi said. So that'it.

In my aspect, the poor people is affected by taking this decision. Not arise any problem to middle
people and high-class people. Our country is a developing country so many people are in below
poverty line. First, satisfy the basic needs of the poor people and then implement this.
Rate this: +4 -0
Yeah, this topic had made India to a different level all over world's media were talking about it. I
don't know exactly in terms of co-operate language it affected or not. But as a common man, from
middle-class family, we think that this was a bold step and helped us to think that yes this can be a
one step to get black money business low. I read somewhere that it's necessary to change
currency for development it helps you to track money and increase revenue. I'm not denying that
note ban didn't affect our economic lives, but it helped us to think that yes India can change. As
after this step, our GDP is stable.
At last, that was a good step and as well must needed step.
Banning 500, 1000 notes in our county last year has some very major effects. Everyone here
already discussed 'demonetisation'. So, I will try to add few points regarding after-math of
Demonetisation
Particularly, with the sudden change in the banking sector in our India, few changes has vast -ve
impact on our system.
Certain reforms which were recently announced like cash transactions of an individual person are
limited to 2,00,000/- only, and if some person does more than 2 lakh transaction is liable to pay the
total amount as fine to the firm where he/she did the transaction. So, people of India are forced to
do cashless transactions. Here there is another reform, If any citizen of India do digital transaction
more than 10,00,000/ then he get notices from IT department.
So, what I want to infer is that in one way government is forcing people to go cashless, and in
another way they are imposing extra burdens due to digital payments.
Hi friends in my opinion, demonetization was a decision that was taken without considering its
future effects.
Corruption cannot be uprooted by
baning notes and I would further go and say that it cannot be uprooted entirely it can only be
reduced.

Demonetization was the action taken by the government against black money and their holders.
This somehow affected the common because they also keep money in their homes but they have
all the statement of that money. So in order to support the idea of demonetization common man
suffered a lot of due exchange of their white money.
Not all the money got recovered by this idea because the idea was not to get all the black money
but to stop it.
Furthermore step like this should be done in order to uproot it or else it will be a fresh start for the
people to start corruption of black money.
Now people have black money in the form of 2000 rs notes that means it has changed clothes.
Let's find out the next step by discussing it here at INDIABIX. I request IndiaBix to make the next
topic as.
"What could be the next step after demonetization to uproot the black money corruption".
Rate this: +9 -5
I think the step of demonetization taken by the central government is a very good step in the
welfare of our country India.
India is a country of more than 121 crores of people. The step was taken by the Indian government
surely reduces the rate of corruption and the prices of goods will also be reduced by this step.
Not ban means stripping the status of notes as a legal tender. Demonetization is like a two side of
coin which one side shows it has some good reactions like transparency, tackle black money,
digital economy etc. But there is some drawbacks of demonetization like it reduce the growth rate
from 7.4 to 6.9. Many problems were faced by the local traders like shortage of supply and many
deaths occur from demonetisation because many hospitals refuse to accept old currency note
which leads to death of patients. If government really want to go cashless then government has to
maintain law regarding the online frauds.

Hello everyone, in my point of view ban 500, 1000 notes it is a good decision by the prime minister
Narendra Modi & corruption decreases in our country while so many people in India to their money
foreign bank this is the big thing to demonization in our prime minister.

Hello Everyone.
According to me, demonetization was just a temporary method to remove corruption so that
common will take rest for some time.
But the corrupted person will find many ways to do corruption again.

Everything has its positive and negative aspects. When we are on the edge of making decisions
we must consider the maximum positivity of the taken step or decision rather than finding negativity
through some disturbing perception. So as I go through this opinion I can say it's a little but good
step taken by present government when no step had been taken ever before. Through this, a
minimum amount of black money can be counted but it's better rather than counting zero. Also, a
vast number of people from some parts of rural India steps into the banking system. It sounds good
when we are talking about financial inclusion, an indirect one. But also I say that the step should be
taken after measuring some possible mess so we could easily skip some problems faced by
general working people faced during the demonetization. Yaa it's like changing clothes but
sometimes changing clothes with new clothes change the perception of viewers. It's a good step.
I think banning of 500, 1000 notes was a good decision by government of India. By this reason, we
will reduce the corrupted money and by getting new notes there is a nano chip where it will find the
black money easily.
Hello everyone,
That's great! many of us have mentioned good points, as far as I concern, it's very difficult to get rid
of black money because even after the Demonetization people started the same strategies with
respect to their respective black currency and taking to initial peak. If government Or any other
would try to rid it of their black hair turns white!

Hello friends, this ban has just been corruption changing clothes. Demonetisation of big value
notes brought out new faces of corruption like those of bank employees, finance agents as
everyday newspaper highlighted such ample news. Corrupt individuals would find some or other
way to break the law and feed their greed. Also its not only in cash that a highly corrupt person
keeps his money. It can be in form of gold, swiss accounts, real estates. The impact of
demonetization is being far borne by common man for his hard earned money. Nobody is
questioning the real stakes of black money. For where did it came from. How did it come, etc? It's
only about common man's money being questioned. Now with new high-value currency of 2000/-,
the corruption would continue to take place. By introducing Rs. 2000/- note, the aim of banning
high-value notes is seeming absurd and blurred.

I do not think that by simply demonetising higher denomination currency can uproot corruption.
It may have halted the extent of corruption temporarily. Because of lions shares of black assets in.
Secondly, most of the black money are illegally stashed in offshores tax heavens, as we know it.
From Panama Paper leak.
Thirdly, counterfeit notes may have temporarily stopped but it will emerge again.

According to me, banning of these notes just gave some rest to people who do corruption and now
they took new ways for doing this. "Nothing changes".

Hai friends,
In my point of view, it's purely the corruption is just changing its clothes. We can't uproot the
corruption from it's roots but by this acts like demonstration will change a lot.
Our Modi sir have to implement many and more acts like this. Then automatically the nation will be
changed.
Good afternoon.
Well corruption has its deep roots. It cannot be completely uprooted with a single move. By
banning 500 & 1000 rs. Notes, our hon. President Mr. Modi has initiated a move against it. The
effects of this ban has created chaos among the black money hoarders ultimately busting a few
many. Digitization is promising since whatever transaction is made is under surveillance. It may
have a positive impact on our economy by bringing back the black money to the government's
treasure, thus resulting in price fall which are under public sectors. The fight against corruption has
just begun.
According to my point of view a definitely bold move of the government to ban denomination of Rs.
500 and Rs. 1000 can never uproot corruption completely it just changing clothes because
corruption is not in the form of currency notes it is in our blood. It can not eliminate only steps taken
by government, If we want to eliminate corruption from our nation then first we need to change our
mindset then only possible our country will free from corruption.
By banning of denomonation of Rs. 500 & Rs. 1000 notes will prominent effect those people who
stored money with them in form of cash that is called as black money.
The main motive of demonitisation is to remove black money from the Indian economy and
become digitalized.
1- It helps to stop illegal activities like terror funding, arms dealing from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and
Some of foreign countries, gambling, money laundering, and also inflating the major asset class
like real state, gold and due to denominitization all such activities will get reduced.
2- This step also removes a large amount of counterfeit currency from Indian economy. Because
about 86% currency in Indian economy in the form of 500 and 1000 Rs notes. If this step would not
take by the govt on 8th of November 2016 then after some years 70 to 75% of Indian economy will
be full of fake notes.
3- If any person having black money decides to deposit money in his/her account and pay the
taxes which he/she avoided in past, these taxes will benefit the nation itself.
4- The newer currency notes of denomination 500 & 1000 are much more secure and difficult to
fake.
5- Banning of denomination 500 & 1000 will lead to fair election because all knows how black
money used by politicians in the time of election. Political leader used to give their black money to
people and buy their votes or drunk them for their votes. By banning of denomination 500 & 1000 it
will stop at some extent and led to fair election.
6- Banning of denomination 500 & 1000 led to decrease corruption for some months because it
takes time to find new techniques for corruption with new system by the damaged traitors.
Disadvantages.
2- It would impact on daily wage earners like drivers, maids, Plumbers, electricians, cooks etc.
3- People live in rural areas suffer more because in most of rural areas people don't have the bank
accounts and don't know about online transit. System. And banks are also far from their villages.
They left their work for 2-3 days and stand in question for exchanging their money.
4- People whose daughter, sister, son having marriage within those 50 days suffer more because
on that time unavailability of cash in ATMs and also in banks.
5- Big earners left out of their black money in the form of foreign currency, Gold, and are hidden
from taxes.
6-On the time of denomitization there are around 29, 527 SBI ATMs are in working condition out of
58, 541 SBI ATMs. Because of that people suffer more.
7-Now a days it is difficult to get change of new. 2000 Rs note because there is less number of
new 500 Rs notes in circulation.
8- People who got injured within those 50 days suffer more because in hospitals they said that first
you have to pay money of new currency notes for further treatment.
So, in conclusion, I want to say that this is very good plan made by our government But the
implementation is not good it recovers the 85% of black money within the country that will help in
future to increase the GDP of our country and remove some extent of poverty from country. And
denomitization decrease corruption only some extent if we want to remove corruption completely
we have to change our mindset and work honestly for the people.
Demonetization may be one way to combat corruption but it's not the only and complete way to
counter corruption. The biggest benefits from demonetization that I feel are flow of credit to banks,
people's compulsion to link with banking system, elimination of flowing counterfeited notes.

Our Hon Prime minister Narendra Modi taken good decision to remove corruption from our country.
Banning of 500 and 1000 rs notes became a headache to black money people their wealth
accumulated because of black money and by banning the notes, our country will get some money
to help suffering people for eg farmers etc. But poor people who are illiterate they don't know to
use ATM even people don't have atm cards now we have to educate them and make them digitally
emp[owered. So that our country becomes developed. And people are secure by means of
digitisation. So I appreciate banning of 500 and 1000 Rs notes.

It was a good step taken by our president. I agree that during this period the common persons
suffered the most. Bt still our citizens of India supported this step. It uprooted the corruption only till
some extent not completely. Many corrupt people got into the picture carrying bulks of 500 - 1000
notes as black money. Our President did a good job but it affected only the middle class people
who need money in their day to day life.
Rate this: +6 -7
Well, corruption and demonetization both aren't related concepts. The intention of banning 500 and
1000 denomination was to get hold of black money holders as well as tax evaders. This might not
bring a change in the extent of corruption but digitization will because then every money will be
accounted for its legitimate source and the hoarder shall be answerable for it.
According to me, demonetization uprooted the corruption because persons who having black
money are exchanged their money using others bank account or changed it using some illegal
business. Normal people also helped this corrupted people to change their money for little
concession because no source of money to them due to banned of 500 and 1000.
Rate this: +5 -2
Hello, everyone.
In my view, banning 500, 1000 notes can't uproot corruption. Because no tax evader or black
money holder interests to keep money in a bank locker. They will immediately keep their money in
some business or on binamis or they convert money into foreign currency or even gold or some
material form.
Of course I do agree that more than 80% of money in circulation are these banned notes. But they
are in circulation among people but not with the tax evader.
Even if some people carried money we had seen news they got a suitcase of 2000 rupee notes
while a common man was suffering to get a single 2000 rupee note.
So again the respective officials are far away from ground reality.
Finally, corruption free society can only be achieved by changing mindset of the people who give
bribe for their own right.

According to me, population of India is near about 125 cr. Very few peoples have uncountable
currency. Thus Govt of India had taken BAN of 500 rs and 1000 rs suddenly. Which will change
India's face?
Rate this: +3 -7
Good afternoon.
In my opinion, it will reduce corruption in the country. It will reduce black money and fake currency
from the market. People who earn money by taking bribes or by evading tax would be thinking but
they get at the end and also change mind sets of the other not to take bribe and evade taxes.
Hi Good Evening,
First of all, it is good move to curb black money circulation, terror funding and so on. But as a
common man just think that no black money holders will have cash in their hand 95% of black
money holders will not have cash in their hand they will have either in swiss bank or as a land or
property.
Though as per government record there has been a lot of black money has been caught and
mainly fake notes from terror have been primarily stopped.
So ban of 500 and 1000rs notes are really a good to move to uproot some main things from our
nation.
Advantages this will remove black money that was held by various businessperson/traders in bank
accounts which consist of 86% of total black money which is of no use from 8 Nov 2016. Biggest
advantage if diz is that black money ultimately come in our country banks accounts which will help
our country to use that money in the growth of agriculture sector/rural areas development nd
overall growth of our country. It also affects the various illegal activities on our country like
terrorism.
About disadvantages, some people die because of this decision and mainly affected agriculture
sector/transport/import-export/GDP growth because of the sudden ban of notes.
Working people have to wait for long hours in bank to get their old currency notes exchange but
beside this.
One can conclude that this step is really a good step our country growth.
Banning of notes is great step towards uprooting corruption, but I thought this step is able to uproot
corruption in very small extent. Main effect of demonetization which I'm seeing is the removal of
fake notes from the our country as well as foreign countries also. Circulation of fake notes always
weakens the economy.
As particular point of view regarding corruption I think my answer more favor in just changing
clothes,
But if we talk about all the matter which is belong to demonetization i.e. fake currency, black
money, economy strength etc. Then we can say that it is a Master stroke of our government.
Thank you!
According to me ban of 500 and 1000 notes will not remove the corruption from India. It is in our
blood. It can not eliminate only by government. If we want to eliminate corruption from India. First,
we need to change our mindset. Everyone want to do their work on any cast even they are not
eligible for that but they do their work through their power or money or something else. So first we
sold to get rid of this type of dirty mindset. Then we can think corruption free India. We have one
big benefit of notes ban all block black money came again in banking system. If government does
not ban these note after 5-10 year India economy will collapse because black money mafia did
black money collection very fast. So for sure after some time no one could save India economy. It
has great step taken by government. People got some trouble with this but its doesn't matter if we
want to get something we should ready for pay the price for that.
Demonetization is something a kind very rare feat that anyone would probably take up at the
macro level. It is really one way to curb and bring out the black money from the population. But as
far as the results that have been on the market, the demonetization has been just like change of
clothes rather than an end to corruption. Ultimately its not the PM or the President who is gonna
eliminate or curb the corruption level. It should become the responsibility of every citizen of India
and they must be determined themselves to stay away from these dark zone activities. They must
be the active participants in making the country digital. Of course, there may be different opinions
of each person but ultimately the result of each one thought process must be to have a well-
developed nation rather than being called as a developing nation since the childhood of our grand
parent's. Sorry if I was harsh at any one or been selfish. Thanks for the giving an opportunity to
have a word on this important topic.

At first, good morning all friends. This is very good topics for ours. I think it is a very good decision
of prime minister. All old 500&1000 Rs note are removed from our country which removes all black
money. Many politicians, businessman, serviceman whose are save their black money in the bank
and no paid their tax, this all remove from our country. In this result, develop our country for
economically and also strong economical. Although it is bad effects for poor farmer, hawkers and
small shopman which are paid their tax and it will be loss for our Indian economical. But it is the
same decision for me. As a result, to loss our economical problem and save our country from
economical corruption. That's all. Thank for all.

I think it is very appreciated step towered reducing the corruption because corruption is the core
root which is pulling India down. As India population is around 1.2 billion but still we are lacking in
industrial and IT sector which is the new face of development. These banning on old 500 and 1000
rs note is just like bomb blasting on the corrupted people who just made rich by going in a
corrupted way.
- For example, it is very interesting to know that if there is a government servant says, a politician
who have maximum 50 to 70 thousand salaries, but instead of this they have acres of land or huge
amount of bank balance, it's all earned by a corrupted way. I think by doing banning of notes every
corrupted people have to give their clarity. And it will also lead to fresh recruitment in every field
where everybody will be corruption free.
It can be well understood by an example- Consider a room which is full of dust, scrap materials,
useless papers and many more things like that. Now if we want to remove this stuff what we will
do? Surely we will clean it but yet some stuff would be there. In a similar way by demonetizing the
old notes it will clean up the system but there are certain areas which can't be clean up. Also, many
news comes up daily that this much amount gets seized so it results into cleaning. So yes it helps
to uproot the corruption but as feelings always attached to human beings similarly corruptions are
always attached with the system only thing we can do is to be honest and make people honest.
Yes, the ban is very imped at this time because of the rich become richer without paying TeX. And
in this time cashless play imp part. So every transaction above 2 lakh can be doing digitally is one
major thing for stop corruption. I have not said it is total reduce in 1 year. But reduce compare to
2016.

I want to add a short and simple point here, I believe no nation is corruption free in the world as its
the greed which is in every man's nature, Banning the notes is a good step because all the black
money comes out immediately and it categorically equals the natural balance of the economically
diverse communities. So basically you are cleaning the dark dead spots of a cloth which are there
for a very long time, and you make it clean as new. I agree there is also a poor percentage of
people in our country who will be suffering this change but let's not forget that today's pain is
tomorrow's gain, so it's not just changing the cloths its making them clean as new.
Hello, friends.
According to me. Demonetization of 500 Rs and 1000 Rs is a good step to remove corruption and
black money. After this incident, people in India are aware of their money and they decided to give
their income tax on a proper time to the government. It is beneficial for government. This money
should be spent on our Indian athletes and our Indian soldiers. Because in India there are no good
facilities for Indian soldiers and Indian athletes.

Hello everyone. In my opinion, Indian government took that decision at correct time. It will help to
