Occasionally parents questions whether they should allow their childern
attend courses. When students feel weak in a certain subject, attending a course is
good form them. However, parents should not force their children to attend many
courses.

Students who attend many courses may be dependent on their course

teachers. They will feel that they have ‘a shoulder to lean on’ when they have
problems. They will just ask their teachers to help them do difficult assignments,
without knowing the process of solving a task.

Besides, attending many courses will make students tired, with less time to
rest. As a result, they cannot concentrate and absorb well what they have learned,
both at school or courses.

Based on the above reasons, it is clear that attending many courses is not

More people are using plastic daily, without being aware of the dangers to
the environment. That’s why, our government makes efforts to limit the use of
plastic bags.
People should limit or avoid the use of plastic daily for the following
reasons.

First, plastic is not biodegradable. In reality, most plastic doesn’t disappear,

but becomes long-lasting “plastic dust”. When items like plastic bags break down,
they readily soak up (and release) toxins which then contaminate soil and water,
and harm animals that ingest plastic fragments.

Second, every square mile of ocean has approximately 46,000 pieces of

plastic floating in it. That is why, over a million sea birds, whales, seals, dolphins,
sea turtles and so on die from plastic debris that end up in our oceans and seas.
100,000 sharks are also part of the death toll.

In addition to not breaking down quickly, plastic materials also break down
dangerously. A lot of plastic already contains toxins, such as phthalates, BPA and
flame retardants. As plastic breaks down, it can absorb many dangerous toxins
more easily, such as damaging pesticides like DDT, PCB and PAH.
In conclusion, plastic is dangerous for the environment.

28. What is the text about?

A. Why we should use plastic in our lives.
B. Why we should avoid the use of plastics.
C. How we should dispose of plastic garbage.
D. How we should use plastic in our lives.

29. What animals are threatened by toxins released by plastic bags breakdown?
A. Animals using plastic bags for shelters.
B. Animals using plastic bags for mattresses.
C. Animals ingesting plastic fragments.
D. Animals living in water.
E. Animals living on land.

30. “...from plastic debris that end up in our oceans and seas.” (Paragaph 4)
What is the similar meaning of ‘debris’?
A. Fragments.
B. Garbage.
C. Lumps.
D. Cuts.
E. Dust.
