Wonderland of Himalayas: Family Holiday in Nepal
Wonderland of Himalayas: Family Holiday in Nepal
This low altitude trek in the Annapurna foothills is specially devised for families. We include
time in the traditional villages. At each campsite you can join our crew and the villagers in
dancing, singing and games of volleyball and cricket. There is also time to visit the local schools
and markets where cultural horizons are so different from our own. During the trek you get to
witness magnificent oak and rhododendron forests as you ascend to alpine meadows that afford
spectacular views of the Annapurna Range. After completing your trek you will travel to the
Chitwan National Park and ride atop elephants in search of rhino and the Bengal tiger.

In the morning, you will get to view heart-throbbing panorama of Annapurnas, Dhaulagiri,
Tukuche Peak and other Himalayan giants from the popular vantage point of Poon Hill at an
altitude of 3193 meters. It takes an hour to reach upto Poon Hill. After savoring the magnificent
sunrise view that complements mesmerizing sight of Himalayan range, you will begin
descending towards Birethanti through magnificent oak and rhododendron forests. From the
village of Ulleri, a long steep stone staircase seems to go on forever before eventually reaching
Hille. A more gradual descent will finally bring you to Birethanti. Lying beside Modi River,
Birethani houses well-resourced shops, hotels, cafes, a police check post, a bakery and a bank.
Day 11: Rafting on Trisuli River and Drive to Chitwan National Park
Early in the morning after breakfast you will be transported to Kurin Ghat. After refreshments,
we begin our rafting from the put-in point under the guidance of river guide with thorough
briefing on safety measures. Initially, water current becomes notably swifter as our raft
maneuvers towards narrow tranquil pools of clear turquoise water of Trisuli River. Gradually, we
may get splashed by occasional large rapid. We journey through a breathtaking river trip amid
mesmerizing vistas boasting one impressive rapid after another. At around mid day, you wrap up
your whitewater river rafting trip and head off to Royal Chitwan National Park. Chitwan
National park lies in the tropical Terai region of Chitwan. Royal Chitwan National Park and
Devghat are the major attractions of Chitwan. Chitwan houses rich wildlife, lush grasslands and
rare species of bird and animals.
