Coordinates in Kangerlussuaq (Sødalen) East Greenland.
Abstract
In July 2011 three survey markers were observed in an episodic survey campaign using Leica GNSS equipment.
Coordinates for these stations are derived from three stations within the IGS(igscb.jpl.nasa.gov) global network
of permanent stations. KELY, QAQ1 and SCOR all have long history of coordinates and velocities. Further three
stations from the GNET permanent stations KULU, KUAQ and MIK2 are included.
GNSS receivers and antennas
Receiver, antenna and radome types for each are listed in the table 1 below along with vertical antenna heights
from survey marker to antenna reference point (ARP).

GNSS observations
Observations are sampled at least every 30 seconds and arranged in daily files starting at 00:00:00Z and ending
at 23:59:59Z. A quality check is performed on all observation files using the ‘teqc’ program provided by UNAVCO
(www.unavco.org). Table 2 show the total number of 30 second epochs collected in one day represented as a
fraction of 24 hours.

Defining coordinates
Coordinates defining the reference frame is derived from the IGS08 Reference Frame tables with coordinates
and velocities for KELY, QAQ1 and SCOR. Table 3 show coordinates for these stations extrapolated from 2005‐
01‐01T00:00Z to 2011‐07‐06T00:00Z (mid epoch of episodic campaign).

Table 3 Defining coordinates
Initial coordinates for KUAQ, MIK2, KULU, SKAE, SOED and MIKF are computed using SCOUT (sopac.ucsd.edu).
Processing software and characteristics
Coordinates are processed using the Bernese GPS Processing Software version 5, release 11‐May‐2011. Final
precise orbits and satellite clocks from IGS (cddis.gsfc.nasa.gov) have been used for the processing.
Observations below 10 degrees over horizon have been excluded from the processing.
The following models/characteristics are applied:
Ionospheric modeling (linear free combination/apriori model)
Tropospheric modeling (Zenith delay estimation)
2
Earth rotation and polar motion
Solid earth tide
Ocean loading (GOT00.2)
Absolute phase center modeling (IGS_1608.ATX)

Repeatability between multiday solutions is typical:
3 mm in North component
1 mm in East component
5 mm in Height component
Accuracy for the multiday observed station SKAE is assessed better than 2 cm at the epoch of observation.
Accuracy for MIKF and SOED is assessed better than 5 cm at epoch of observation.
