Developing Viewpoints
TASK OVERVIEW:
Students are to demonstrate their understanding of different viewpoints in the
creation of different text types. These texts are to be in the form of a letter to the
editor and blog, focusing on the use of language, structure and viewpoints
offered in each text.

ACHIEVEMENT STRAND/S: Writing


TASK WEIGHTING: 10%
TASK DUE DATE: Term 3, Week 8

Learning Objectives:

□ Using appropriate vocabulary, sentence structures, accurate spelling, punctuation


and grammar.

□ Using persuasive techniques to engage audiences.

□ Selecting text structures, including introductions and conclusions, paragraphs,


topic sentences, connectives, and logical sequencing of ideas and events to
communicate ideas in written texts.

□ Planning, organising, drafting and presenting information or arguments for


particular purposes and audiences.

To demonstrate these objectives you will need to complete the following:
