Periodic maintenance can improve the performance and ex-
tend the working life of a bill acceptor. Additional attention
may be required if the bill acceptor becomes inoperable due
to a jammed object or acceptance rates fall below normal.

Note: Never use dry abrasive type cleaners, alco-

hol or any kind of solvent for cleaning the accep-
tor. These products can damage lenses and belts!

6.2.1  Inspection
1. Open the main door.
2. Press down the transport unit release lever and pull out
the transport unit.
3. Access the bill path by opening the transport unit.
4. Make a visual check to see if any debris or liquid have col-
lected in the bill path.

with water, such as dish detergent, or just water. Ensure
that the cloth is not liquid-saturated.
4. Wipe the bill path, lenses and rollers.
5. Wipe the belts lightly as you rotate them by hand.
6. After wiping, inspect lenses to ensure that none have been
moved out of position.
7. Allow drying before closing the acceptor and transport as-
sembly.

into the device. Do not use any solvents or scouring agents
that will attack the plastic material of the device.
1. Power down the machine and open the belly door.
2. Open the coin validator on the left-hand side and hold it
open.
3. Use a damp cloth to clean the coin runway inside the coin
validator.

bolts are fixed. Check if there is any coin stuck in the cup.
3. Inspect the roller switch. Make sure the switch is secure
fastened, and well positioned.
4. Inspect the hopper knife for the correct position. If neces-
sary adjust. See hopper manuals for details.
5. Inspect the hopper wiper for the correct position. The po-
sition of the wiper is very important for a correct pay-out.
If necessary adjust. See hopper manuals for details.

6.5  Ticket Printer

Two kinds of periodic cleaning operations will ensure contin-
ued high print quality.

6.5.1  Paper Dust Removal

1. Open the main door and slide out the printer (fig. 1).

2. Use a soft brush to clean the paper dust from inside the
printer and chassis area. The paper dust should also be re-
moved from the sensor optics.

3. Slide in the printer and close the main door.

Note: Always make sure that the ticket printer is completely

slid in before closing the main door.

6.5.2  Cleaning the Thermal Print Head

If streaking on the printed ticket is evident, the thermal print

head may need to be cleaned. This can be done by inserting a
thermal printer cleaning card.

1. Open the ticket cover and remove all tickets from the ticket
path.

2. Close the ticket printer cover.

3. Insert a new cleaning card into feed path. The cleaning

6.6  Fans
The fans inside the cabinet have to be cleared from dust to
ensure proper airflow and cooling. The OXYGEN™ cabinet has
up to five fans:
A
- Cabinet Fan (A)
C
- Main Monitor Fan (B), if available
- Upper Monitor Fan (C), if available D
- Logicbox Fan (D)
- CPU Fan (E) E

• Clearing a Hopper Jam

• Clearing a Bill Jam

• Clearing a Coin In Jam

• Fuses

• Jumper Settings

7. Troubleshooting

7.1  Reset Status- and Error Messages

Occasionally, machines encounter a problem that forces the
machine into a machine lock (tilt) that has to be reset. Some
on-screen messages also require to be confirmed and reset by
an attendant.

For example: When the logic box was opened and closed, the
message “Logic Box open” is displayed until it is reset by turn-
ing the Audit Key.

Follow these steps to reset status messages.

Reset a Status Message using the Audit Key

1. Make a note of the on-screen information, type of error,

game state, credit meter, etc..

2. Activate the Audit Menu, by turning the Audit Key.

3. Release the Audit Key to exit the Audit Menu. The status
message should expire.

4. Verify the information that was noted before activating

the Audit Menu.

Restarting the machine

In case of a machine freeze initiated by an error at the periph-

eral hardware (e.g. bill acceptor), it can be necessary to restart
the machine to reinitialize the peripheral hardware.

1. Make a note of the on-screen information, type of error,

game state, credit meter, etc..

2. Open the main door and power down the machine.

3. Wait at least 10 seconds until the boards are free of any

voltage.

4. Turn machine power on. Do not close the main door to

prevent the machine from entering game mode.

5. Enter Service Menu / Diagnostics to check for defective

machine components.

6. Close the main door to enter game mode.

Cabinet Manual - OXYGEN™ 46

7. Troubleshooting

7.2  Last Game Recall

This section explains how to review the last 20 games.

1. Open the Audit Menu by turning the Audit Key with the
main door closed.

2. Go to Audit Menu / Accounting and Statistics / Logs / Last

Games.
A list of the last 20 games is displayed.

3. Select a game to be reviewed and touch the Select Game

button. Statistics of the selected game are displayed.

4. Touch the Start Replay button to replay the selected

game.

5. Wait some seconds until "Hit lit button for next game
step” is displayed in the lower area of the game screen.
Then press the lit button on the button panel to replay the
next game step.

6. Repeat step 5. for each game step until the replay ends.

7.3  Save Machine Information to USB Stick

This function allows you to backup the machine configuration
data. It saves the data available within the Machine Informa-
tion pages and several log files to an USB stick. You can send
this data to ATRONIC Technical Services to support trouble-
shooting or you may use it as your own backup.

1. Open the main door and turn the Audit Key to enter the
Service Menu. Go to Service Menu / Machine Information /
Save Machine Information.

2. Insert an USB stick to a free USB port at the logic box and
wait until the USB stick was detected.

3. Touch the Save button. The data is stored into a new cre-
ated directory on the USB stick. The directory is named af- USB Stick
ter following scheme:
/ [EGM Serial Number] / [current date and time] /.

4. After saving release the Audit Key to close the Service

Menu and remove the USB stick.

5. Close and lock the main door.

7.4  Clearing a Hopper Jam

To clear a hopper jam, follow these steps.

Caution! Moving Parts!

Keep fingers clear from moving parts. Discon-
nect power or hopper before servicing.

1. Open the main door and remove the hopper.

2. Remove any coins that may have collected around the

roller lever.

3. Check if coins have jammed under the hopper knife.

4. If necessary, correct the coin wiper alignment. The coin

wiper should guide but not hold the coin. There should be
a small distance (<1 mm) between coin and coin wiper or
it should only lightly brush the surface of the coin.

5. When the coin jam is cleared, install the hopper and turn
the machine power on.

6. Close and lock the main door and move the arm rest back
into play position.

7. (only if Hopper Jam Procedure is set to Payout continues af-

ter jam is cleared). The hopper will resume the interrupted
payout. Make sure that the hopper has paid out the cor-
rect number of coins.

8. Perform a hopper test. Go to Service Menu / Diagnostics

/ Hopper and select Pay out x coins for testing. Check
the number of coins paid out and the hopper timings. If
any timing value is below 12 msec, a hopper adjustment
is mandatory. Note: Coins paid out during hopper
test will not be listed in the machine
statistics.
The behavior in case of a hopper jam depends on the setting
Service Menu / Settings / Hardware / Hopper / Jam Procedure.
Following two settings are available:
• If a hopper jam occurs, left amount is handpay.
• If a hopper jam occurs, the hopper jam has to be cleared.
After the hopper drawer door is opened and closed, the
payout continues.
