Scale of Pay

Automatic • Officers in Scale-I, 1 year after reaching the maximum in their respective scale, shall
Movement & be granted further increments including stagnation increment(s) in the next
Stagnation increment higher scale subject to their crossing the efficiency bar as per guidelines of the
Government.
Stagnation increments are payable on completion of 3 years after reaching the
maximum in Scale - II
• Max 4 stagnation increments

Annual Increment Increment accrues on an annual basis and shall be granted every year on the date
mentioned in the Promotion proceedings.

Probation Two years. Confirmation test will be there.

Special Allowance 7.75% of Basic Pay + applicable DA thereon

Dearness Allowance • DA payable is linked to Consumer Price Index


• 0.10% per slab over 4440 points (1 slab = 4 points)
• DA is revised on 1st Feb, May, Aug & Nov

Passing JAIIB / CAIIB Incentive / Increment for passing JAIIB & CAIIB after becoming an Officer
One additional increment for passing JAIIB examination and one additional
increment for passing CAIIB examination are being granted in the scale of pay to the
Officer Employees from the date of declaration of results.
The employees successfully complete JAIIB / CAIIB examinations within two
consecutive attempts, shall be eligible for reimbursement of 50 % examination fee and
also cost of study kit.
House Rent Allowance Major Cities 9.00% of Pay
Area I 8.00% of Pay
Other Places 7.00% of Pay
• Minimum HRA on declaration basis
• 150% HRA is payable on production of Rent Receipt
• 150% HRA is payable on capital cost basis for occupation of own house

TA - Mode of Travel A/C 2 tier by train for travel while on duty or LFC

Holiday Home Facility • Eligible to stay in Holiday Home with advance booking
• Rent per day Rs 30 / Rs 50 /Rs 60
• Dependents should accompany the concerned P O

• On line booking facility is available in HRMS for Chennai & Bangalore

Leave Casual Leave (CL)


• Max: 12 days in a calendar year.
• During the first calendar year of service, Officer employees shall earn CL on pro-rata
basis @ one day for each completed month or part thereof.
• CL cannot be combined with any other category of leave.
• CL cannot be availed for more than 4 days at a time. However, there is no restriction
as regards the total period of absence inclusive of public and weekly holidays.
Leave Unavailed Casual Leave (UCL)
• CL not availed in any calendar year will be credited to UCL.
• It may be availed as Sick Leave in the following 3 years.
• No medical certificate is required for one day UCL.

Privilege Leave (PL)


• Eligible for PL at the rate of 1 day for every 11 days of active service.
• Not more than 3 occasions in a calendar year.
• The credit of PL will be made on 1st day of the calendar year.
• It can be availed by giving 15 days' notice
• It can be accumulated upto 270 days. But, upto 240 days PL only can be Encashed

Sick Leave (SL)


• 30 days of SL on half pay for each completed year of service.
• Max 540 days. SL will be credited on 1st day of calendar year. SL on half pay can
be commuted.
• SL can be availed only on production of medical & fitness certificate.
• During the first year of service SL on pro rata basis at the rate of 2.5 days on half
pay for each completed month of service will be permissible to the POs.

Additional Sick Leave (ASL)


• For every additional year of service after completion of 24 years,
Officers are eligible for ASL @ 30 days on half pay per year subject to a
maximum of 90 days. It can be commuted.
Special Sick Leave: Max 30 days for donation of Kidney or organ
Special Casual Leave is permissible for blood donation
Maternity Leave (ML)
Female employees are eligible for Maternity Leave up to 6 months on
any one occasion and 12 months during entire service in the Bank.
Paternity leave
Male Officers are eligible for 15 days Paternity leave for his wife's
Confinement
Shifting charges / W.E.F. 01.06.2015, eligible for shifting charges / Packing expenses of
Packing expenses Rs.15,000.00 on declaration basis towards packing / loading / unloading
/ local transportation / transit insurance etc in connection with transfer.
Newspaper Eligible for reimbursement of 90% of subscription during Probationary
period. No ceiling on subscription.
Business Development
Expenses The Promotee Officers are eligible for reimbursement of BDE during their
probationary period.
BDE limit for Scale I Officer is Rs 6000/- p.a. for the financial year

Festival Advance The Promotee Officers who joined after 6.12.1990 are eligible for Festival Advance
for an amount of Rs 30,000/- or one month gross salary excluding HRA & CCA

Cleaning Expenses It is being reimbursed every month to the Officer employees residing in Bank
owned quarters / Bank Leased quarters / Personal leased quarters
The cleaning expenses limit for Scale I is Rs 300/- per month

N.B: Declaration to be given in HRMS package while claiming Boarding Expenses.

Medical Aid • 8,000/- per annum. Payable for the calendar year.
• It can be accumulated for three years.
• The Promotee Officer is entitled for full amount for that calendar year irrespective of
the date of promotion.
• In case Rs.2000/- (Workmen old limit) is already availed, the balance amount of
Rs.6,000/- can be availed on promotion to Scale I
Hospitalisation • The Scheme Covers Employee + Spouse + Dependent Children + 2 dependent
Expenses - New Parents /parents-in-law.
Medical • No age limit for dependent children/ parents but their monthly income does not
Insurance Scheme exceed Rs. 10,000/- per month
• Sum assured for Officers: Rs 4.00 lacs per annum

Half yearly closing • An officer employee if posted at a branch where books are closed on 31st Mar & 30th
Allowance Sep, Closing allowance of Rs 250/- for each of the two closings
Split Duty Allowance • Rs 200/- per month w.e.f. 01.11.2012

Hill & Fuel allowance Altitude > 1000 mts but <1500mts 2% of Pay – Max Rs.750/- p.m.
Altitude > 1500 mts but <3000mts 2.5% of Pay – Max Rs.1000/- p.m.
Altitude > 3000 mts 5% of Pay – Max Rs.2000/- p.m.

New Pension Scheme The Officers joined the services of the Bank as Workman on or after 1st April, 2010, shall
continue to contribute 10% of pay and Dearness Allowance towards the Defined
contributory Pension Scheme and Bank shall make a matching contribution.

New Furniture • The Promotee Officers are eligible to avail the Furniture facility during the
Scheme Probationary Period.
• The limit for Scale I is Rs one lakh
• Subsequent eligibility will be after 10 years
• 50% limit can be utilized for buying electrical & electronic items
Facility of All the Scale I Officers are eligible for the facility of Visiting Card vide HO Cir 296/2016

LFC • The direct recruit P Os who have completed 11 months of active service are also
eligible for Leave Fare Concession facility for self & dependents.
• LFC Block shall be a block of 4 years. LFC block of 4 years is divided into 2 sub-blocks
of two years each. An Officer may avail each Sub-block of 2 years to visit Native Place /
Home-town / Place of domicile (in lieu of Native Place) or One Sub-block to visit
Native Place / Home-town and another sub-block to visit any place in India, by
shortest route.
• Encashment of LFC is permissible for the sub block which is meant to visit any place
in India Encashment of Privilege Leave (PL) for Officers is permitted once in a block
of 4 years, for a maximum of 30 days while availing of LFC. The facility of encashment
of PL is also available while surrender/encashment of LFC facility.
• Alternatively, while travelling in each Sub-block of 2 years to Native Place /
Hometown / Place of Domicile and to any place in India, the Officer may encash
Privilege Leave with a maximum of 15 days each in each Sub-block.
• For dependents, monthly income should not be more than Rs 10,000/-
Property Return REGULATION 20(1):
Statement of Assets & Liabilities has to be submitted at the time of first appointment.
REGULATION 20(2):
Return of Movable, Immovable & Valuable Property has to be submitted every year
as on 31st March of that year to the bank before the 30th day of June of that year.
REGULATION 20(3):
Transaction (lease, mortgage, purchase, sale, gift or otherwise) concerning
immovable property either in his/her own name or in the name of any member of
his/her family has to be reported immediately.
REGULATION 20(4):
Transaction concerning movable/valuable property exceeding Rs 25,000/- has to be
reported within 30 days
The previous sanction of the competent authority shall be obtained if any such
transaction is –
a) with a person having official dealings with the officer employee
or
b) otherwise that through a regular or reputed dealer
All the above reportings are to be made in HRMS package.

Regulations Officers are being governed by the provisions of the following Regulations:
1. Canara Bank (Officers') Service Regulations, 1979
2. Canara Bank Officer Employees' (Conduct) Regulations, 1976
3. Canara Bank Officer Employees' (Discipline & Appeal) Regulations, 1976

LFC Eligible after 3 years of service


Limit for Scale I Officer = Rs 5.00 lacs;
ROI = 9% p.a. (Compounded monthly);
Repayment = 10 years;
NTH = 40%;
If an employee closes DPN loan and seeks further DPN loan at a later date again, the
same can be permitted. However, there must be at least three years gap from the date of
previous availment.
