RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.
Snagit is an application that allows you to not only record your screen but also record your voice at the same time. Sagnit also has
another application option where you can record your screen and then record your voice after or record your face as well.
For this resource, both my students and myself will be able to utilize screen casting. As the teacher, I will utilize screen casting to
show students and example of a problem if we did not have ample time to go over problems in class, so they can practice on their
own at home. I will also use Snagit to show my students how to solve each problem on a pretest.
My students will use screen casting to do a group project that requires them to each show how they reached a certain answer in
the problem. Screen casting will also allow my students to send in any questions they have over the weekend with audio along
with this. This will ensure that I know exactly what my students are asking of me when they are confused.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
Given the information above, how would the technology integration you described, using the selected resource? (On the
“Value-Added Rating Scale” above)
Explain your rating based on the indicators on the rubric.
I think that this system would be rated as a 1.5-2. I personally do not think that screen casting is the most useful and needed
piece of technology in a classroom. I think that a lot of what screen casting can do can be done with a projector, which would also
be easier. I do think that this type of tool would be more useful in a college classroom where they are not just showing a
PowerPoint and they also don’t have a projector, as it would make it easier for Professors to write on their iPads, etc and it be
projected right onto the screen.
