Expository Essay

There are over 1.3 million illegal workers in Thailand, with the top three groups being from Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos. An illegal worker does not have the proper permits to work in Thailand legally. If caught, illegal workers can face fines of 60,000 baht and up to three years in prison. In 2017, there were around 2 million illegal workers total in Thailand, but only 770,000 registered for proper work permits. The Thai government is trying to address this issue through stricter laws and registration deadlines. Many illegal workers overstay their original visas or enter Thailand through bordering countries like Myanmar and Laos to find work.

Illegal workers in Thailand
Did you know that there are many illegal workers in Thailand? According to
60,000 workers become illegal, there are about 1,3279,252 illegal workers in
Thailand and the number is increasing every year.

An illegal worker is a worker who doesn’t have a legal work permit to work in
the country. When illegal workers live in Thailand, they have to hide from the police
because if they get caught they are required to pay 60,000 baths and may spend
three years in jail or both. Not just the worker that are punished but if the police find
out that the employer agrees to have an illegal worker than the employer has to be in
plan implementation too. An illegal worker can come to work in Thailand very easily
because, since Thailand is located near land such as Myanmar, Laos and others.
This mean people from neighbor countries can hardly walk in. Another common way
is when they're used to be legal workers but when they working permit is expired
they’re automatic became illegal workers. This cause the number of illegal increase
very fast. 2017 there's about two million illegal workers but only 770,000 illegal
workers decided to register for a working permit. The government in Thailand is
trying to fix this problem bt setting more strict law and this show that the number of
illegal worker decrease in the next year. There are many illegal workers come
different countries such as Cambodian, Myanmar, and Laos. There’re more than a
million worker from Cambodia but not all are legal workers there’s 300,000 who still
not register for working permit. There’s 450,000 Myanmar who is an illegal worker
and they’re forced to register before the deadline. On the other hand, Laos and Thai
friendship bridge located in Nakhon Phanom is open for loans worker who can prove
their identity and Laos government are helping their illegal worker who is sent back
to get their passport and so they can be legally re-employed in Thailand again.
Many countries have illegal worker but most of the countries are trying to
make the worker become legal. It’s good to follow the rule because you can do the
right. 4/5
