Subject: Poor services provided by Shivalik hostel mess

Respected Sir,
We are the residents of Shivalik Hostel, Punjab
Engineering College. This is to draw your attention towards the
problems faced by us due to the poor-quality food provided in the
mess.
Following are the issues faced by us -:
 Poor quality food (especially dinner)
 Most of the times we have to either visit PEC Market or order
food from online food delivery services like UberEATS etc.
 Chapatis served are also of very poor quality. Also, after
vaguely studying the mess tender the point that caught our
attention was that chapatis and water must be served on the
table. (Pg-23, 2nd Point of e-Tender document)

According to us the problems that we face are because there is


no provision of mess off on working days. To feed ourselves we
have to spend extra money for ordering food online. We pay
both for the mess food and online/PEC Market, thus doubling
our expenses.

We believe that there must be a provision for mess-off of any


meal at our own will and even on working days. This will
ensure that the mess workers provide better quality food.

Therefore, it’s a humble request to act ASAP!
