Reading/Language Arts
In Language Arts our learning targets this week have included:
Dates to Remember: *Spelling focus: the ir, ur, er sound in words> This is hard because you just
have to learn them!
March 11 Reading Log Count *er & est endings on words. We learned that er compares two things and
Day est compares 3 or more!
March 13 All School/Read a *Sounds made by dge like in fudge, bridge, and ridge
Game Day *contractions with ‘ve, ‘s, ‘re, and n’t
Book Fair Preview Day *recognizing when verbs in past and future tense
March 15 Wear Green Day *fact & opinion– We know that a fact is something that is true. An opinion
March 14 ½ Day PT Conferences is something that someone thinks or feels.
March 18 BOOK Fair buying day *text structure – This we we read a literary non-fiction story. It was about
metamorphosis but was written like a story from the caterpillars viewpoint!
