1. ​(a) ​Differentiate between "Inspection" and "Quality Control" ​[4 ​marks]


(b) In a textile finishing plant, dyed cloth is inspected for the occurrence ofdefects per 50
Square Meters. The data on 10 rolls are shown in the following Table.

2. ​(a) Explain why a pair of charts is required to monitor and control the quality ofprocesses using control
charts for variables. ​[5 ​marks]

specified at 0.10% and the Rejectable Quality Level at 1%.

assuming General Inspection Level II (ii) Draw OC curves for the above three plans and Compare (1) Producer's
Risk and
(2) Consumer's Risk

4. ​(a) ​A box containing 200 thermo couples are submitted for inspection. The upper specification limit is
140°C while the lower specification limit is 120 °C. It is desired to have an ​AQL ​of2.5% and inspection level
