VITA
M ichael Andre Stubblefield was bom in Tallulah, Louisiana, in 1969.
He attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he
received his bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering in Fall 1991.
He also h ad th e honor of being M arshal for th e College of Engineering
graduating class. A fter receiving his undergraduate degree, Mr. Stubblefield
entered the doctoral program a t Louisiana State U niversity in Spring 1992, as
a Dean’s Fellowship recipient, which w as sponsored by th e Louisiana Board
of Regents. Since entering L.S.U., Mr. Stubblefield has published nine
technical papers of which four are journal papers and ten technical reports,
and has been a co-investigator for five research projects. One of the technical
papers co-authored by Mr. Stubblefield received the b est student paper aw ard
from the Pressure Vessel and Piping Division of the American Society of
M echanical Engineers in 1993. His doctor of philosophy degree will be
conferred in A ugust 1997.
