9:1
‫ב ֶר‬

ָ ְ‫וַי‬ ‫ֱ הים‬
ִ ‫נ ַֹח ־ אֶ ת א‬ ‫ְואֶ ת‬ ‫ָּבנָיו ־‬ ‫ֹאמר‬
ֶ ‫וַּי‬ ‫לָ ֶהם‬

. And God blessed Noah
u·ibrk aleim ath - nch u·ath - bni·u u·iamr l·em and his sons, and said unto
and·he-is-mblessing Elohim » Noah and·» sons-of·him and·he-is-saying to·them them, Be fruitful, and
multiply, and replenish the
‫ְּפרּו‬ ‫ּורבּו‬
ְ ‫ּומ ְלאּו‬
ִ ‫ָהאָ ֶרץ ־ אֶ ת‬ : earth.

be-fruitful-you(p) ! and·increase-you(p) ! and·fill-you(p) ! » the·earth

9:2 ‫ּומראֲכֶ ם‬
ַ ‫ְו ִח ְּתכֶ ם‬ ‫יִ ְהיֶה‬ ‫ּכָ ל עַ ל‬ ‫ַחּיַת ־‬ ‫ָהאָ ֶרץ‬

And the fear of you and
u·mura·km u·chth·km ieie ol kl - chith e·artz the dread of you shall be
and·fear-of·you(p) and·dismay-of·you(p) he-shall-become on every-of animal-of the·earth upon every beast of the
earth, and upon every fowl
‫ְועַ ל‬ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫עף ־‬ ‫ַהּׁשָ ָמיִ ם‬ ‫ְּבכֹל‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ִּת ְרמֹׂש‬ ‫ָהא ֲָד ָמה‬ ‫ּובכָ ל‬
ְ ‫־‬ of the air, upon all that
moveth [upon] the earth,
u·ol kl - ouph e·shmim b·kl ashr thrmsh e·adme u·b·kl -
and upon all the fishes of
and·on every-of flyer-of the·heavens in·all which she-is-moving the·ground and·in·all-of
the sea; into your hand are
they delivered.
‫ְּדגֵי‬ ‫ַהּיָם‬ ‫ְּבי ְֶדכֶ ם‬ ‫נִ ָּתנּו‬ :

fishes-of the·sea in·hand-of·you(p) they-are-given

9:3 ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫ֶר ֶמׂש ־‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ַחי ־ הּוא‬ ‫לָ כֶ ם‬ ‫יִ ְהיֶה‬ ‫ְלאָ ְכלָ ה‬ ‫ְּכי ֶֶרק‬ ‫עֵ ׂשֶ ב‬

Every moving thing that
kl - rmsh ashr eua - chi l·km ieie l·akle k·irq oshb liveth shall be meat for you;
every-of moving-animal which he life to·you(p) he-is-becoming for·food as·greens herbage even as the green herb have
I given you all things.
‫נ ַָת ִּתי‬ ‫לָ כֶ ם‬ ‫ ּכֹל ־ אֶ ת‬:

ַ‫ּבׂשָ ר ־ א‬
ָ ‫ְּבנ ְַפׁש‬ ‫ָדמ‬ ‫ל ֹא‬ ‫ת ֹאכֵ לּו‬ :

But flesh with the life
ak - bshr b·nphsh·u dm·u la thaklu : thereof, [which is] the blood
yea flesh in·soul-of·him blood-of·him not you(p)-shall-eat thereof, shall ye not eat.

9:5
ַ‫ְוא‬ ‫ִּד ְמכֶ ם ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫ֹתיכֶ ם‬

ֵ ‫ְלנ ְַפׁש‬ ‫אֶ ְדרֹׁש‬ ‫ִמּיַד‬ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫־‬
5
And surely your blood of
u·ak ath - dm·km l·nphshthi·km adrsh m·id kl - your lives will I require; at
and·yea » blood-of·you(p) for·souls-of·you(p) I-shall-require from·hand-of every-of the hand of every beast will
I require it, and at the hand
‫ַחּיָה‬ ‫אֶ ְד ְרׁשֶ ּנּו‬ ‫ּומּיַד‬
ִ ‫ָהאָ ָדם‬ ‫ִמּיַד‬ ‫ִאיׁש‬ ‫אָ ִחיו‬ of man; at the hand of every
man's brother will I require
chie adrsh·nu u·m·id e·adm m·id aish achi·u
the life of man.

Whoso sheddeth man's
shphk dm e·adm b·adm dm·u ishphk ki blood, by man shall his
one-shedding-of blood-of the·human in·the·human blood-of·him he-shall-be-shed that blood be shed: for in the
image of God made he man.
‫ְּבצֶ לֶ ם‬ ‫ֱ הים‬
ִ ‫עָ ׂשָ ה א‬ ‫ָהאָ ָדם ־ אֶ ת‬ :

9:7 ‫ּתם‬
ֶ ַ‫ְוא‬ ‫ְּפרּו‬ ‫ּורבּו‬
ְ ‫ִׁש ְרצּו‬ ‫ָבאָ ֶרץ‬

And you, be ye fruitful,
u·athm phru u·rbu shrtzu b·artz and multiply; bring forth
and·you(p) be-fruitful-you(p) ! and·increase-you(p) ! roam-you(p) ! in·the·earth abundantly in the earth, and
multiply therein.

9:8 ‫ֹאמר‬
ֶ ‫וַּי‬ ‫ֱ הים‬
ִ ‫נ ַֹח ־ אֶ ל א‬ ‫ְואֶ ל‬ ‫ָּבנָיו ־‬ ‫ִאּת‬ ‫לֵ אמֹר‬ :

. And God spake unto
u·iamr aleim al - nch u·al - bni·u ath·u l·amr : Noah, and to his sons with
and·he-is-saying Elohim to Noah and·to sons-of·him with·him to·to-say-of him, saying,

9:9 ‫ַואֲנִ י‬ ‫ִהנְ נִ י‬ ‫ֵמ ִקים‬ ‫יתי ־ אֶ ת‬

ִ ‫ְּב ִר‬ ‫ִא ְּתכֶ ם‬ ‫ְואֶ ת‬ ‫ז ְַרעֲכֶ ם ־‬

And I, behold, I establish
u·ani enn·i mqim ath - brith·i ath·km u·ath - zro·km my covenant with you, and
and·I behold·me ! csetting-up » covenant-of·me with·you(p) and·with seed-of·you(p) with your seed after you;

9:10 ‫ְואֵ ת‬ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫נֶפֶ ׁש ־‬ ‫ַה ַחּיָה‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ִא ְּתכֶ ם‬ ‫ָּבעף‬ ‫ַּב ְּב ֵה ָמה‬

And with every living
u·ath kl - nphsh e·chie ashr ath·km b·ouph b·beme creature that [is] with you,
and·with every-of soul the·living which with·you(p) in·the·flyer in·the·beast of the fowl, of the cattle,
and of every beast of the
‫ּובכָ ל‬
ְ ‫ַחּיַת ־‬ ‫ָהאָ ֶרץ‬ ‫ִא ְּתכֶ ם‬ ‫ִמּכֹל‬ ‫י ְֹצאֵ י‬ ‫ַה ֵּת ָבה‬ earth with you; from all that
go out of the ark, to every

beast of the earth.
and·in·all-of animal-of the·land with·you(p) from·all-of ones-coming-forth-of the·ark

9:11 ‫ֹתי‬
ִ ‫ַוה ֲִקמ‬ ‫יתי ־ אֶ ת‬
ִ ‫ְּב ִר‬ ‫ִא ְּתכֶ ם‬ ‫ְול ֹא‬ ‫יִ ּכָ ֵרת ־‬ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫ָּבׂשָ ר ־‬
11
And I will establish my
u·eqmthi ath - brith·i ath·km u·la - ikrth kl - bshr covenant with you; neither
and·I-cset-up » covenant-of·me with·you(p) and·not he-shall-be-cut-off all-of flesh shall all flesh be cut off any
more by the waters of a
‫עד‬ ‫ִמ ֵּמי‬ ‫ַה ַּמּבּול‬ ‫ְול ֹא‬ ‫יִ ְהיֶה ־‬ ‫עד‬ ‫ַמּבּול‬ ‫ְלׁשַ ֵחת‬ flood; neither shall there
any more be a flood to

destroy the earth.

ִ ‫ז ֹאת א‬ ‫את‬ ‫ַה ְּב ִרית ־‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫אֲנִ י ־‬ ‫ֹתן‬
ֵ ‫נ‬ ‫ֵּבינִ י‬

. And God said, This [is]

and·he-is-saying Elohim this sign-of the·covenant which I giving between·me which I make between me
and you and every living
‫ּובינֵיכֶ ם‬
ֵ ‫ּובין‬
ֵ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫נֶפֶ ׁש ־‬ ‫ַחּיָה‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ִא ְּתכֶ ם‬ ‫דרֹת‬
ֹ ‫ְל‬ creature that [is] with you,
for perpetual generations:

I do set my bow in the

» bow-of·me I-give in·the·cloud and·she-becomes for·sign-of covenant between·me token of a covenant
between me and the earth.

9:14 ‫היָה‬
ָ ‫ְו‬ ‫ְּבעַ נְ נִ י‬ ‫עָ נָן‬ ‫עַ ל‬ ‫ָהאָ ֶרץ ־‬ ‫ֲתה‬
ָ ‫ְונִ ְרא‬ ‫ַה ֶּקׁשֶ ת‬

And it shall come to
u·eie b·onn·i onn ol - e·artz u·nrathe e·qshth pass, when I bring a cloud
and·he-becomes in·to-mcloud-of·me cloud over the·earth and·she-nappears the·bow over the earth, that the bow
shall be seen in the cloud:
‫ֶּבעָ נָן‬ :

9:15 ‫ְוזָכַ ְר ִּתי‬ ‫יתי ־ אֶ ת‬

ִ ‫ְּב ִר‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ֵּבינִ י‬ ‫ּובינֵיכֶ ם‬
ֵ ‫ּובין‬
ֵ

And I will remember my
u·zkrthi ath - brith·i ashr bin·i u·bini·km u·bin covenant, which [is]
and·I-remember » covenant-of·me which between·me and·between·you(p) and·between between me and you and
every living creature of all
‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫נֶפֶ ׁש ־‬ ‫ַחּיָה‬ ‫ְּבכָ ל‬ ‫ָּבׂשָ ר ־‬ ‫ְול ֹא‬ ‫יִ ְהיֶה ־‬ ‫עד‬ ‫ַה ַּמיִ ם‬ ‫ְל ַמּבּול‬ flesh; and the waters shall
no more become a flood to
kl - nphsh chie b·kl - bshr u·la - ieie oud e·mim l·mbul
destroy all flesh.
every-of soul living in·all-of flesh and·not he-shall-become further the·waters for·deluge

ְ ‫ִלזְ ּכֹר‬ ‫ְּב ִרית‬ ‫עלָ ם‬

And the bow shall be in
u·eithe e·qshth b·onn u·raithi·e l·zkr brith oulm the cloud; and I will look
and·she-becomes the·bow in·the·cloud and·I-see·her to·to-remember-of covenant-of eon upon it, that I may
remember the everlasting

ֵ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫נֶפֶ ׁש ־‬ ‫ַחּיָה‬ ‫ְּבכָ ל‬ ‫ָּבׂשָ ר ־‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ָהאָ ֶרץ ־ עַ ל‬ : covenant between God and
every living creature of all

9:17 ‫ֹאמר‬
ֶ ‫וַּי‬ ‫ֱ הים‬
ִ ‫נ ַֹח ־ אֶ ל א‬ ‫ז ֹאת‬ ‫את‬ ‫ַה ְּב ִרית ־‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ה ֲִקמ ִֹתי‬ ‫ֵּבינִ י‬

And God said unto

and·he-is-saying Elohim to Noah this sign-of the·covenant which I-cset-up between·me the covenant, which I have
established between me and
‫ּובין‬
ֵ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫ָּבׂשָ ר ־‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ָהאָ ֶרץ ־ עַ ל‬ : ‫פ‬ all flesh that [is] upon the
earth.

9:18 ‫וַּיִ ְהיּו‬ ‫ְבנֵי‬ ‫נ ַֹח ־‬ ‫ַהּיֹ ְצ ִאים‬ ‫ִמן‬ ‫ַה ֵּת ָבה ־‬ ‫ׁשֵ ם‬ ‫ְו ָחם‬ ‫ָויָפֶ ת‬

. And the sons of Noah,
u·ieiu bni - nch e·itzaim mn - e·thbe shm u·chm u·iphth that went forth of the ark,
and·they-werebc sons-of Noah the·ones-coming-forth from the·ark Shem and·Ham and·Japheth were Shem, and Ham, and
Japheth: and Ham [is] the
‫ְו ָחם‬ ‫א ֲִבי הּוא‬ ‫ְכנָעַ ן‬ : father of Canaan.

9:19 ‫ׁש ׁשָ ה‬

ְ ‫אֵ ּלֶ ה‬ ‫ְּבנֵי‬ ‫נ ַֹח ־‬ ‫ּומאֵ ּלֶ ה‬
ֵ ‫נ ְָפצָ ה‬ ‫כָ ל‬ ‫ָהאָ ֶרץ ־‬ :

These [are] the three
shlshe ale bni - nch u·m·ale nphtze kl - e·artz : sons of Noah: and of them
three these sons-of Noah and·from·these she-is-scattered-over all-of the·earth was the whole earth
overspread.
9:20 ‫ָחל‬
ֶ ‫ַוּי‬ ‫נ ַֹח‬ ‫ִאיׁש‬ ‫ָהא ֲָד ָמה‬ ‫וַּיִ ּטַ ע‬ ‫ּכָ ֶרם‬ :

And Noah began [to be]
u·ichl nch aish e·adme u·ito krm : an husbandman, and he
and·he-is-cstarting Noah man-of the·ground and·he-is-planting vineyard planted a vineyard:

9:21 ‫ֵׁש ְּת‬

ְ ‫ַוּי‬ ‫ִמן‬ ‫ַהּיַיִ ן ־‬ ‫וַּיִ ְׁשּכָ ר‬ ‫וַּיִ ְתּגַל‬

And he drank of the
u·ishth mn - e·iin u·ishkr u·ithgl wine, and was drunken; and
and·he-is-drinking from the·wine and·he-is-becoming-drunk and·he-is-exposing-himself he was uncovered within his
tent.

‫ְּבת‬ ‫ה ה‬
ֳ ָ‫א‬ :

in·midst-of tent-of·him

9:22 ‫ַוּי ְַרא‬ ‫ָחם‬ ‫א ֲִבי‬ ‫ְכנַעַ ן‬ ‫אֵ ת‬ ‫עֶ ְרוַת‬ ‫אָ ִביו‬ ‫ַו ַּיּגֵד‬

And Ham, the father of
u·ira chm abi knon ath oruth abi·u u·igd Canaan, saw the nakedness
and·he-is-seeing Ham father-of Canaan » nakedness-of father-of·him and·he-is-ctelling of his father, and told his
two brethren without.
‫ִל ְׁשנֵי‬ ‫אֶ ָחיו ־‬ ‫ַּבחּוץ‬ :

to·two-of brothers-of·him in·the·outside

9:23 ‫וַּיִ ַּקח‬ ‫ׁשֵ ם‬ ‫ָויֶפֶ ת‬ ‫ַה ִּׂש ְמלָ ה ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫ָׂשימּו‬

ִ ‫ַוּי‬ ‫־ עַ ל‬

And Shem and Japheth
u·iqch shm u·iphth ath - e·shmle u·ishimu ol - took a garment, and laid [it]
and·he-is-taking Shem and·Japheth » the·garment and·they-are-placing on upon both their shoulders,
and went backward, and
‫ְׁשכֶ ם‬ ‫ֵיהם‬
ֶ ‫ְׁשנ‬ ‫ַוּי ְֵלכּו‬ ‫אח ַֹרּנִ ית‬
ֲ ‫וַיְ כַ ּסּו‬ ‫אֵ ת‬ covered the nakedness of
their father; and their faces
shkm shni·em u·ilku achrnith u·iksu ath
[were] backward, and they
shoulder-blade-of two-of·them and·they-are-going backward and·they-are-mcovering »
saw not their father's
nakedness.
‫עֶ ְרוַת‬ ‫יהם‬
ֶ ‫א ֲִב‬ ‫ֵיהם‬
ֶ ‫ּופנ‬
ְ ‫אח ַֹרּנִ ית‬
ֲ ‫ְועֶ ְרוַת‬ ‫יהם‬
ֶ ‫א ֲִב‬ ‫ל ֹא‬
oruth abi·em u·phni·em achrnith u·oruth abi·em la
nakedness-of father-of·them and·faces-of·them backward and·nakedness-of father-of·them not

‫ָראּו‬ :

9:24 ‫יקץ‬
ֶ ִ‫וַּי‬ ‫נ ַֹח‬ ‫ִמּיֵינ‬ ‫ַוּי ֵַדע‬ ‫אֵ ת‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫עָ ׂשָ ה ־‬ ‫ל ־‬

. And Noah awoke from
u·iiqtz nch m·iin·u u·ido ath ashr - oshe - l·u his wine, and knew what his
and·he-is-awaking Noah from·wine-of·him and·he-is-being-informed » which he-did to·him younger son had done unto
him.
‫ְּבנ‬ ‫ַה ָּקטָ ן‬ :

son-of·him the·small

9:25 ‫ֹאמר‬
ֶ ‫וַּי‬ ‫אָ רּור‬ ‫ְּכנָעַ ן‬ ‫עֶ ֶבד‬ ‫ֲב ִדים‬
ָ ‫ע‬ ‫יִ ְהיֶה‬

And he said, Cursed [be]
u·iamr arur knon obd obdim ieie Canaan; a servant of
and·he-is-saying being-cursed Canaan servant-of servants he-shall-become servants shall he be unto his
brethren.
‫ְלאֶ ָחיו‬ :

for·brothers-of·him

9:26 ‫ֹאמר‬
ֶ ‫וַּי‬
‫ָּברּו‬ ‫יְ הָה‬ ‫ֱ הי‬
ֵ ‫א‬ ‫ׁשֵ ם‬ ‫יהי‬
ִ ‫ִו‬ ‫ְכנַעַ ן‬ ‫עֶ ֶבד‬
26
And he said, Blessed
u·iamr bruk ieue alei shm u·iei knon obd [be] the LORD God of
and·he-is-saying being-blessed Yahweh Elohim-of Shem and·he-shall-become Canaan servant Shem; and Canaan shall be
his servant.

9:27 ‫י ְַפ ְּת‬ ‫ֱ הים‬

ִ ‫ְליֶפֶ ת א‬ ‫ּכן‬
ֹ ‫ְויִ ְׁש‬ ‫ְּבאָ הֳלֵ י‬ ‫ׁשֵ ם ־‬
27
God shall enlarge
iphth aleim l·iphth u·ishkn b·aeli - shm Japheth, and he shall dwell
he-shall-centice Elohim to·Japheth and·he-shall-tabernacle in·tents-of Shem in the tents of Shem; and
Canaan shall be his servant.
‫יהי‬
ִ ‫ִו‬ ‫ְכנַעַ ן‬ ‫עֶ ֶבד‬ ‫לָ מ‬ :

and·he-shall-become Canaan servant to·him

9:28 ‫וַיְ ִחי‬ ‫נ ַֹח ־‬ ‫אַ ַחר‬ ‫ַה ַּמּבּול‬ ‫ְׁש ׁש‬ ‫ֵמאת‬ ‫ׁשָ נָה‬ ‫ח ִמ ִּׁשים‬
ֲ ‫ַו‬ ‫ ׁשָ נָה‬:
28
. And Noah lived after
u·ichi - nch achr e·mbul shlsh mauth shne u·chmshim shne : the flood three hundred and
and·he-is-living Noah after the·deluge three-of hundreds year and·fifty year fifty years.
