The maths program is very dense. And as he was not there for the 1st semester, and they don't follow the same curriculum in
France., that makes learning more complicated.
So learning every day a new concept is maybe a lot for him. He works more than one hour every night plus week end and only on the
maths, he also has to work english plus a little french.
You may realised he had some Dyslexie troubles, that affect him too.
Anyway, he is very good at learning by hearing, but then doesn't like to write, and if nobody is constantly looking at him, he is
dreaming. He has a very short time of concentration, and get tired very quickly.
Also if there is a little difficulties on anything, he easily gives up, saying "it's to complicated".

We keep working.

Thank you to let us know.

Have a nice day.
Cécile

Sorry, I accidentally sent that before I was finished! I was writing that I have a hard time telling sometimes if the math is too hard for
him or if he is not wanting to put the effort into it to do well. He follows along well during lessons, but gets very little finished after the
students are sent off to work independently.

We'll keep an eye on his progress and thanks for your attention to the unfinished work.
Thanks again,
Allison

I will be sure that he brings home all his unfinished work tomorrow. Can you be sure that he is also bringing it back to school so he
can work on it when he is finished with other tasks?

Ulysse is a very creative boy, so he does indeed spend a lot of time dreaming around. He seems to struggle at times with basic
multiplication and division facts, so I am working at suggesting strategies to make it more fluent for him.

I almost wonder if the math is too hard for him sometimes? I

We worried also about maths. It

Seems that he doesn’t understand everything. His dad is explaining the lesson again at home.

They try to do again the exercices together. But he has so much to do with the unfinished.

His main trouble is the time. He is so slow, loosing time dreaming around.
and when you make calculations, if you don’t do it without lifting your head, it’s easy to get lost.

We are armless now, we don’t know how to keep him doing one complete exercice. Do you have ideas, to help him being more
concentrated ?

Would you mind to make sure he brings back all his unfinished work.

We are glad you tell us about this, we all have to figure how to help him.

Thank you
Cécile

Hi Cecile,
I'm glad that made sense. Ulysse seems to have it figured out well.
On another note, I'm a little concerned about his unfinished math at
this time. The end of the quarter is quickly approaching (next
Thursday), so we'll need to have all work turned in by then. I remind
him daily to take work home, and I just wanted to be sure to touch
base with you about it. Let me know if you have any questions,
Allison

Hi Cecile,

It's more important for students to recognize the different ways in which homophones can be spelled than to attempt to sort
them into groups this week. This week focuses on the different ways to spell the long 'a' sound. Sorting them into the different
words is how sorting should be done.
I hope this helps!!

Good morning,

We had lots of difficulties to sort the words yesterday. It seems there are many groups.
Are those possibilities OK ?
