Hello students! I loved the engagement in the instant activity that you just finished with! WISG, please skip in between the blue boundary lines
in your own self space, go! Freeze! Thank you for freezing so quickly and having your eyes on me. As you can see there are jump ropes laid
Script out around the outside of the blue boundary lines, can you please point to the blue boundary lines? Students point. Awesome, thank you! Now,
please point to the closest jump rope to you. WISG show me what it looks like to grab a jump rope quickly, in control, and respectfully. How
are we going to grab our jump ropes? Quickly, in control, and respectfully! Awesome, go! 5,4,3,2,1. Freeze! I love to see that everybody has
their jump ropes now on the ground and their eyes on me. I’d like to see what you know, so when I say go, you may pick up your jump ropes
and, in self-space, show me different ways of jump roping. Be courteous of other students and stay in your self-space! Point to different spots
on the gym that have open spaces. Students point. Great job, those are safe spaces that we can go to while jump roping, thumbs up if you’re
ready, go! (Allow for about 30 seconds of exploration fro students) Freeze! I saw a lot of creativity for different students and I am happy about
that! I have a big rule in jump roping, that rule is to look behind and beside you before you start jumping. What is the rule? Look behind and
beside us before we start! Perfect, now we are going to start off with a forwards jump, just like this (demonstrate). WISG please show me what
a forwards jump looks like, go! Thank you, Emily and Jackson for looking around you before you started jumping! Make sure you’re bending
your knees while you are landing and you’re landing softly! Freeze! Watch how I am landing, are my feet quiet or loud? Quiet. Correct, try to
land as quiet and softly on the ball of our feet as possible. Now we are going to add in a double bounce, what that is , is one small bounce
before I jump over the rope (demonstrate). Bounce, then jump, try that, go! (While walking around elevate voice and add in the next skill to
keep kids moving the entire time). IF YOU ARE READY, TRY A DOUBLE BOUNCE! BOUNCE SOFTLY TWICE BEFORE YOU JUMP
OVER THE ROPE! (Walk around gym while speaking so all students can her that new command.) Freeze! How was that? Fun! I wanna keep
going! I like jumping and pretending its lava! Please stand on one leg, we are now going to hop over the rope, what are we going to do?
HOP! Try to remain in self control, you may hop consecutively or do a single hop, stop, and then hop again. Thumbs up if we understand!
Thumbs up. Go! I like that this class is staying in their own self space and in control while we are hopping on one foot. SWITCH FEET!
Freeze! WISG we are going to try a backwards jump, which looks like this (demonstrate). Notice, I am still landing softly on my feet and am
not actually jumping backwards, just turning my rope backwards, do we understand? Yes! Awesome, please look where before you start?
Behind and beside! Exactly, go! Remember, we are staying in one spot while jumping and turning our ropes backward, Jimmy. Freeze! This
class is doing an amazing job at freezing, and I appreciate it so much, that I would like for you to show me how to jog and jump. When we jog
and jump, one foot will go over the rope followed by the other when we are making our way over the rope. Remember, this is a JOG, what are
we doing? Jogging! Thank you for listening, WISG, show me how to jog and jump in control and in your self space, go! Freeze! Great job
respecting yours and others self space. Now we are going to do hot peppers, without the jump rope, will you show me what it looks like if there
were hot peppers on the ground and you are trying not to step on them? Freeze! (Pick out student who was demonstrating quick feet) Will you
show the class what you were just doing? Performs quick feet. Did we see how his feet were moving quickly? WISG, pick up your jump rope
and show me how you jump as fast as you can, you may do this with one foot, both, or alternating, be creative, go! Freeze! We’re going to
finish off with the twister, this one is going to engage your core, can everybody say engage your core? Engage your core! Can you please
point to your core? Points to abdominals.* Awesome, thank you. I like to twist like this (demonstrate). Notice how I was in control and didn’t
rotate too far, WISG please show me how you twist and jump, go! Freeze! Fantastic job in challenging yourselves and coming up with creative
ways to engage your core while jumping and twisting. Now, can we see how many different ways we can jump rope? Please raise your hand
and tell me one way you can jump rope. Students answer with various answers. Great answers, jumping rope is a great way to make our heart
rate go up, do we remember what it is called when we workout to increase our heart rate? Cardi-something running? You’re close, it’s called
cardiovascular endurance. You did an amazing job today as a class, WISG, please place your jump ropes back outside the blue lines and come
back and freeze n your self space, go!
