3. Define an equipotential surface. Draw equipotential surface in the case of a single

5. Write any two uses of capacitors.

II. Answer any THREE of the following questions 3 x 2 = 6M

6. A 12pf capacitor is connected to a 50 v battery, how much electrostatic energy is


stored in the capacitor?
7. Draw a neat labeled diagram of an compound microscope in normal adjustment.
8. What is electrostatic shielding? Mention one application of electrostatic shielding.
9. Derive the relation between critical angle and refractive index.

10. Draw a ray diagram to show the image formation by a combination of two thin
convex lenses in contact. Obtain the expression for the power of this
