Draw Points, Lines and Rays: Lesson Reflection

The lesson taught the definitions and differences between points, lines, and rays to 4th grade students. The lesson went well due to planning, introducing the lesson objectives, and modeling center activities. The teacher demonstrated each activity step-by-step. Student behavior was well managed during the lesson. Areas for improvement include using different assessment strategies, ensuring students listen to instructions, and allowing time for cleanup after activities.

Lesson reflection:

Draw Points, Lines and

Rays
The lesson that I taught was about drawing points, lines and rays. The standers that I’m addressing in this

lesson were to teach the students the definitions of each line type and the difference between them. This lesson

is for grade 4 students, which took place at Mohammed Bin Khaled school. My goal for this lesson is to help and

help the students to know the difference between three types of lines by showing different examples.

There are different things that went well in my lesson for instance: Planning for learning. In the planning stage

for this lesson I did a research to read and know about the topic of the lesson more. So, I can be prepared for

any question from the students and to help me as a teaching during the modeling stage of the lesson. In addition,

I started my lesson by introducing the lesson tittle and outcome for the students to help them know what they

are going to learn and expect from them during this lesson. Another thing that went well in my lesson is

modeling the center activities. Before I send the students to do the center activity by themselves. I molded the

activities first. I showed each level of students the activities that they supposed to do and different materials

that they have. Next, I showed them each step of the activity how they are supposed to do it. Finally, the good

thing that went in my lesson is behavior management. In this lesson I didn’t have a problem with students’

behaviors. I was using different strategies to manage the students during the lesson.

There are different things that needed to be improve in this lesson. Firstly, to use different strategies to assess

students during the lesson. Also, to make sure that the students are listing to me while I tell them the

instructions. Moreover, I need to have some time at the end of my lesson to make the students clean after they

finish the center activities.
