WEEKLY JOURNALS
This is where you think about your FMP learning journey and development.
Don’t simply describe what you did - consider what you have learnt and how this has benefitted
your project. What do you need to improve?
THIS IS JUST GUIDANCE THAT YOU NEED TO ADAPT TO YOUR OWN PROJECT. YOU HAVE CREATED YOUR
OWN PRODUCTION SCHEDULES AND YOUR WEEKLY BLOGS SHOULD REFELCT THAT.
THESE QUESTIONS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IN THE WEEKS YOU COMPLETED THEM. DO NOT JUST SUBMIT THIS
FORM FILLED IN FOR YOUR WEEKLY BLOGS. THERE SHOULD BE 11 WEEKLY BLOG ENTRIES (INCLUDING
EASTER).
Week Five - Planning
PLANNING
What did you learn from your planning The production schedule is very important, it sets dates that the
this week? actors and I have planned together, it reminds when and
where to film, this keeps me very organised. The props list is very
important as well it reminds me that I need to either bring out
props and if I do not have them, to buy for the production.
What issues did you encounter and I found the main character very easy to decide on since I
how did you overcome them? could see him playing the role quite well but I struggled a bit on
deciding who should play the bully since it would be quite a
hard role to play for someone who doesn’t act. In the end I
decided on Fergus because his style in clothing I could see
suitable for a bully role.
How did you ensure that your location I found the locations and got the most updated picture there
recces were completed to a high so it was as accurate as possible. I then found the address and
standard? double checked it on another map.
How did you ensure that your props list I went through my rationale multiple times and thought of any
and crew list were completed to a props that I would need in any scenes that would either relate
high standard? to the scene or any that a character would use. After some
time I finally thoughtfully decided on my actors who would
raise the quality of my production. I was handling everything
else behind the camera e.g. lighting, director, cameraman etc.
How have you ensured your I simply explained what I would be filming and where. I also
production schedule includes enough double checked with my teachers to see if it was up to
detail? standard.
How well have you managed and I will make a group chat on a messaging app and organise
organised your cast and crew to be in dates with all of them, dates where I will just need one of the
available when you need them? actors or all of them on the same day, planning this will keep
the filming process efficient. If one of the actors suddenly cant
film I will make it clear to let me know ASAP so we could
arrange a backup date to keep things organised.
Are you on track for the week? If not, I need to catch up on some planning such as script and
how far behind are you? storyboard etc.
What work do you need to complete Storyboard and script.
outside of lessons to stay on track?
