PLANNING
What did you learn from your planning This week planning has allowed me to understand and
this week? organise when, where and with whom I’ll be filming with, as
well as what will happen during each stage. Creating a
production schedule has allowed me to break down exactly
what I’ll be doing each day, helping to keep me organised
and to help me stay on track. Creating location recces has
allowed me to understand exactly where I’m filming and how
to get there, as well as what things I need to consider whilst
there, such as lighting and safety hazards. Creating a crew list
has allowed me to understand who will be doing what in my
production, as well as on what day, helping to avoid any
confusion. Creating a props list has allowed me to understand
what items I will need to take when filming, who they’ll be used
by and during which part of the video they’ll be used, helping
me to film more efficiently.
What issues did you encounter and One issue I had was deciding what props I should choose to
how did you overcome them? use. To overcome this I read through my shooting script and
storyboard and visualised each scene and what would be in
them. Another problem I faced was trying to find a suitable
location to film my production. I overcame this problem by
asking my peers for suggestions on where to film as well as by
researching online.
How did you ensure that your location I made sure that my location recces were to a good standard
recces were completed to a high by including lots of detail about the location to make it easier
standard? to get there and to film there. For example, I included the
addresses, post codes and nearest bus stops of the locations,
allowing me to plan how me and the actors could get to them.
This helped to save lots of time as we didn’t have to worry
about travelling when filming. I also included any safety
hazards to ensure that one would get hurt when filming. As well
as this, I included information on lighting and sound so that I
would know how to get round these issues if they became a
problem.
How did you ensure that your props list For my props list I made sure to put when and by whom the
and crew list were completed to a prop will be used to ensure that both me and the actors know
high standard? what it’s used for during filming. This will help me to film faster
and more efficiently because there will be no confusion. My
crew list was made to a high standard as I included what each
crew member is required to do, as well as on which date, once
again helping to avoid confusion.
How have you ensured your My production schedule includes enough detail as I have
production schedule includes enough broken down exactly what I’m going to do each day of
detail? creating the piece, as well as where and with whom. For
example, for the two filming days I have included what I’ll be
filming, who I’ll be filming with, where I’ll be filming and what I
will bring. This will allow me to stay on track as I will be able to
follow a strict schedule with each day already planned out for
me so that I don’t have to waste time thinking about what I’ll
be doing each day.
How well have you managed and I made sure to find an actor available to film straight away and
organised your cast and crew to be in who needs someone to act in theirs. This meant that we could
available when you need them? film on the same days for each other’s productions without
worrying about the other person cancelling because we both
needed each other. Choosing an early date to film also meant
that we had plenty of time to film any extra things on other
days if for some reason the other person couldn’t make it. For
my other actor, I made sure that the he was free on the same
day, but also asked other people to be backup actors just in
case they couldn’t make it.
What work do you need to complete I don’t need to do any extra work outside of lesson.
outside of lessons to stay on track?
