During summer, the chances of snakes and scorpions entering facilities and buildings
are high. This will create a risk of bites which may lead to serious health consequences
and even death.

RECOMMENDATIONS AND PROTECTIVE MEASURES:


1. Make sure that KOC Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
program is implemented at your work environment, as per
KOC HSEMS: Procedure for Pest Control (KOC.HE.014).
2. Doors and windows should be sealed sufficiently, and
windows provided with metal mesh to prevent entrance of
such hazards into buildings and offices.
3. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance in
accordance with the type/s of activities.
4. Sufficiently positive housekeeping standards’ compliance at all
times.
5. Ultrasonic Multifunctional Systems can be used to repel such
hazardous animals from entering into the work environment.
