Material and method

Area of study

>Front view building of B.I.S.E D.I.Khan.

>bank of river near Indus colony D.I.Khan

>Near Bhakar Derya khan bridge

Sample collection

Totally near 135 specimen of Labeo rohita,Catla catla and Rita rita were collected for 2
months. Specimen were collected from three different sampling station by using traditional
gill net and ring net. All the sampling station were located in D.I.Khan

Storage and processing

Sample were brig to zoology department govt.college no.1 D.I.Khan . fishes were preserved
by using formaline solution .total length of each fish was measured from snout to caudal fins
using measuring rod .body weight was measured by using digital balance.

STATISTICAL ANALYSIS

First of correlation for each species was determined by using statistical

catagories correlation .the correlation value for all the three species was more than 0.5 so no
correlation was found between length and weight of fish. to determined the actual
relationship between length and weight we applied cube law which is

W=aLb

Where a=constant(intial growth index)

b=equilibrium constant

w=weight of fish

L=length of fish
MATERIAL AND METHOD

Taking log on both side the above equation become

The expression can be transformed logarithmically as suggested by Le Cren

LOGW=Loga+blogl

First of all we will find” a” value by formula

a=.∑Logw.2(∑logL)-∑LogL.∑(LogLxLogw)/N∑Logw)2-(∑LogL)2

b value us determind by using below formula

b =∑Logw)-(NLoga)/ ∑LogL

if b value less than 3 so fishes show allometeric growth So different part of body will grow
at di if b value greater than 3 so fishes show isometeric growth So all part of the body will
grow at same rate.

Data were arranged in table form .Log L value for each fish was determined and at last all the
LogL value was sum up . .Log w value for each fish was determined and at last all the Logw
value was sum up.logL multiplied with Logw to find out∑LogLxLogw. I putted the above
discussed value and get required result.
