B+G+20 Residential Building, Kolkata Plumbing

The document provides specifications for the plumbing system of a residential building's swimming pool in Kolkata, India. It details the sizing calculations for the balancing tank (6.34 m3), filters (2 filters totalling 36.6 ft2), backwash tank (7.57 m3), and chlorine dosage (12.5 lbs per day). Pipe sizing calculations determine the suction and delivery pipes should each be 50 mm diameter.

I. SWIMMING POOL

1. Balancing Tank Sizing

Area:

Swimming Pool = 102.1 m2

Volume:

= 102.1m2 x 1.5m (Approximately. Ht 1.5m)

= 153.15m3

Bathing Loads:

< 1.5 m deep : 1.394 m2/person

> 1.5 m deep : 1.819 m2/person

Total number of bathers = 75 Persons

Amount of Displaced Water = Wave Displacement + Bather Displacement

a. Wave Displacement = Pool Area x 0.02 m

= 102.1 x 0.02 m
= 2.04 m3

b. Bather Displacement = No. of bathers x 0.05 m3/p

= 75 x 0.05 m3/p
= 3.75 m3

Total Required Volume = 2.04 + 3.75

= 5.79 m3
+ 10% = 6.34 m3

Balancing Tank = (3.0 x 1.5 x 1.5 Depth)

2. Filter Calculation

Total Volume = 153.15 m3

Turnover Rates:
Pool = 6 hrs.

Friction Head loss Rate = 42.28 ft/1000 ft = 0.04

Total losses at piping = 328 + 448.90 = 776.90 ft

Head loss due to friction = 776.90 x 0.04 = 31.08 ft

TDH = 125.05 ft ≈ 54.13 psi
