Deflection Calculation Sheet: ACI 318-08 Rectangular Sections

This document contains calculations to determine deflection in reinforced concrete beams. It analyzes both rectangular and T-shaped beams. The concrete strength, reinforcement details, loads and spans are provided. Calculations are shown for gross moment of inertia, cracked moment of inertia, effective moment of inertia, short-term deflections under dead and live loads, and long-term deflections. Deflection limits are provided based on beam end use. For the rectangular beam, long-term deflections exceed the limit for beams supporting non-structural elements. For the T-beam, both short and long-term deflections are above this limit.
