Check List For Jacket Lift & Upending Analysis: Project Client Model File Name

This checklist provides 45 points to check when analyzing a jacket lift and upending operation using a computer model. The key points include ensuring the computer model is updated correctly, modeling the slings and lifting configuration, applying the appropriate loads, contingencies and load combinations, checking the analysis results against design criteria, and reviewing the design of any lifting aids or buoyancy equipment. The checker marks each check point as complete and the checklist helps ensure a thorough review is performed before issuing the analysis documents.

COMPUTER MODEL
It is assumed that the model is checked for dimensions, elevations, member
group and section properties in the in-service analysis and is upgraded to
suit the current analysis.
Check for LDOPT, OPTIONS, UCPART in the input file
1 Member group properties for slings: E, G and Density
(a) low value of E and (b) Zero density
2 Member properties: Kx, Ky, Lx, Ly for revised support configuration
3 Sling member end releases to have axial load only
4 Hook location above CoG and boundary conditions
(Two hook points are modeled for sling mismatch condition)
5 End releases and Offsets for Slings at Shackle/ Padeye
6 Adequate analytical springs are provided
7 Modeling of sling & hook for 75%-25% sling load distribution(sling mismatch)
8 Unity check range specified (0-0.8, 0.8-1.0, 1.0- )
Two Block Upending (In Air/ Water)
9 Minimum Sling angle=60 deg for initial Lift position (or as per BoD)
10 Location and Elevation of Hook during upending
11 Position of jacket at each upending stages (minimum 5)
12 Jacket leg considered flooded
Floatation & Controlled Flooding
13 Location and Elevation of Hook during upending
14 Position of jacket at each upending stages (check for flipover)
15 Jacket legs, appurtenances are non flooded to get maximum buoyancy
16 Modeling of Buoyancy Tank, if required (non-flooded)
17 Lift load combination including contingencies is selected w/o self weight
18 Weight of structural component contributing to buoyancy applied as weight
card in floatation input(fltinp) file. (including contingency)
19 Sea water density is maintained at its specified value
20 Joints defined for the jacket plane at water surface in fltinp file
21 Damage leg case considered and reserve buoyancy determined.
LOADS
22 Load description and calculations, Basic Load Summary, Rigging loads added
23 DAF, Skew Load factor, CoG Shift factor as per BoD
24 Load contingencies as per BoD (Based on Design Stage)
25 Load combinations (members connected to lifting point and not connected)
26 Calculations for COG shift (couples applied)
27 Load summations for combinations and comparison to WCR.
ANALYSIS RESULTS
28 Sea-state summary enclosed (Check against load summation)
29 Member check summary enclosed : review for overstressed members
30 Joint check summary enclosed : review overstressed joints
