DRCS Assignment

The document describes the design of a doubly reinforced concrete beam subjected to bending. Key details include: - The beam has dimensions of 300mm width and 500mm effective depth. - It is subjected to a total load of 67.75 kN/m which causes a maximum bending moment of 317.58 kN-m. - The beam is designed as doubly reinforced concrete with a compressive reinforcement of 4 bars of 20mm diameter and tensile reinforcement of 5 bars of 25mm diameter. - Shear reinforcement of 8mm diameter stirrups at 210mm spacing is also designed to resist the shear force of 176.69 kN.
