REFLECTION ON ACTION RESEARCH DESIGN


1. What is the attraction of action research design for classroom
teachers in general and/or you in particular?
 Action research design can be a very helpful thing for students
especially for teachers who are already in the field of teaching,
because of this design they can make further research and effective
solutions in different problems that they may encounter in teaching, this
can implicate a good result and performance in their career.

2. What problems or issues would you anticipate in using this


design?
 If I were to use this design I will focus on different issues that can be
helpful to anyone social issues, issues in our daily basis, understanding
inflation, education and government matters, everything that can help
your reader have a wider understanding of a particular issue present in
their surroundings.

 The author uses the basic guidelines in presenting an action research
such as: Abstract, Introduction, Investigation, Hypothesis and
Intervention, Evaluation and Further Intervention, Conclusion,
References, and Appendix 1 and 2.

5. Does the author(s) state the purpose of the research? Are


there research questions? Elaborate.
 yes, the author stated the purpose of the action research is to improve
the reading comprehension of college students in china, even though
that College English Teaching (CET) is said as one of the most time
consuming, Chinese students started learning English in their primary
level up to college for almost Ten years, but yet most college students
are having hard time, in speaking, writing , listening, and using the
English language, which means no matter how long they teach English it
still remain as one of the most least efficient from then on, and it shows
the students poor exam results CET4 examination which they conduct 2
times a year. The major purpose of the action research is to find out
what problems CE learners really have in CET4

6. In your opinion, is this actually an example of ARD? What


actions taken in the article communicate to you that ARD was
the model?
 Yes, it uses the basic guidelines of ARD and used them properly to
present a good action research.

7. Were you convinced? Do you accept the conclusions of the


author or authors? Elaborate.
 Yes, I’m well convince with the conclusion where it said that in their
investigation they identify the cause of the problem and laid their plans
for improvements, but then the result is not that effective though the
rate of examinee for CET4 increases and then after their evaluation they
have found out that what they’ve done was far not enough, so they
conduct a second round of action research, and they successfully a
much better result that before. The conclusion is well stated and
complete.
8. Can all or part of this paper serve as a model for your
research? How?
 Yes, I will surely use this ARD as my reference for my own research. I will
use this because I found out that I can conduct two rounds of research
in one action research, therefore it will be more useful for me and for my
readers.
