UNIT TOPIC: A. INTEGRATIVE ART AS APPLIED TO CONTEMPORARY ART
UNIT STANDARDS
It aims to provide students with an appreciation of a broad range of styles in the various
disciplines with consideration on their elements and principles, and engage them to an
integrative approach in studying arts. Through this subject, students will broaden and acquire
the necessary creative tools that open opportunities in pursuing their individual career goals
and aspirations.

1. Identifies various contemporary art forms and their practices from the various regions.
2. Classifies various art forms found in the Philippines
3. Analyze the combination of different art forms seen in Modern Times.

Instructions:
The teacher will post/draw three columns on the board with labels: KNOW, WHAT, LEARN
Students will be given post-it notes to write down what they know and what they want to
know about the Contemporary Art Forms and their practices from various regions.
After writing, students will post these notes on to corresponding columns.

Activity 3: Concept Mapping
Instructions:
Students will be grouped into five and will be given one contemporary art form seen in
modern times to focus on.
In Students will web definitions of the contemporary art form and their practices from
various regions.

Activity 1: Movie Application
Instructions:
The teacher will project a short video clip about the art form practices from various
Philippine regions.
After the clip, students will share their insights to the class.
Activity 3: Think-Pair-Share
Instructions:
Students will choose a partner to do the Think-Pair-Share.
Think- What is your idea of Contemporary Art Forms and their practices from various
regions?
Pair- Students will ask questions and give comments. Students will create a summary of
their sharing.
Share- Students will share their summary to class.
Activity 4: Spoken Poetry
Instructions:
Students will write a free-verse poem emphasizing the significance of arts in the lives of
people.
After writing, students will be given time to prepare in reciting it in class.
TRANSFER
Activity1: Reflection Writing
Instructions:
Students will write a reflection of the lesson regarding various contemporary art forms and
their practices from the various regions.
After writing, the students will read their reflection to the class.

Activity 4: Group Simulation
Instructions:
Students will be grouped into six representing the different contemporary art forms:
Choreography, Musical Instruments, Literary and Musical Compositions, Visual Design,
Theatrical Performance and Cinema.
Each group will perform a three (3) to five (5) minute presentation of the art form assigned
to their group.

Students will be grouped into four and will be given a topic to report in class.
Students will assign and discuss first their topic with their group mates.

Instructions:
Student will be grouped into six (6).
Students will choose an art form from a region.
Perform in class the importance of the art form.

Instructions:
Students will be tasked to create an infomercial promoting the art forms from various
regions.
The infomercial will then be uploaded on social media to raise awareness.
