It aims to provide students with an appreciation of a broad range of styles in the various
disciplines with consideration on their elements and principles, and engage them to an
integrative approach in studying arts. Through this subject, students will broaden and acquire
the necessary creative tools that open opportunities in pursuing their individual career goals
and aspirations.

Activity 1: K-W-L
Instructions:
 The teacher will post/draw three columns on the board with labels: KNOW, WHAT, LEARN
 Students will be given post-it notes to write down what they know and what they want to
know about the Contemporary Art Forms and their practices from various regions.
 After writing, students will post these notes on to corresponding columns.

Instructions:
 The teacher will project a video clip of contemporary art forms for students to watch.
 Student shall derive insights from the video clip and share their insights to the class.

Activity 1: Think, Pair and Share
Instructions:
 Students will choose a partner to discuss and share with their ideas and thoughts about the
various art forms from various regions.
 After sharing, students will recite to class what they have learned from their discussion with
their partner.

Activity 2: Focused Listing


Instructions:
 On a ¼ piece of paper, students will list down the different Combinations of Art Forms in
Modern Times within `five minutes.
 Afterwards, students will share to class what they have listed and check if they have similar
results written down on their paper.

Activity 3: What Is Your Idea


Instructions:
 The teacher will post/draw a diagram on the board and will ask the students to come to the
board and fill in the board of their ideas about the Significance of Different Art Forms and
their practices from various regions.

Instructions:
 The teacher will project/post a picture of Joey Herrera’s Fiesta, 2004 (Oil on Canvas, 60x96)
on the board. The students will observe and analyze the painting.
 The students will have to identify the subject matter and its form.
 The students will determine the message of the painting, the medium and the technique
used by the artist.

Instructions:
 The teacher will project a short video clip about the art form practices from various
Philippine regions.
 After the clip, students will share their insights to the class.

Activity 2: Situation Analysis


Instructions:
 The students will be grouped into six and each group will be given a situation to ponder.
 Students will have to analyze the context of the situation.
 After the analysis, the students will share their thoughts and ideas to the class.

Activity 3: Think-Pair-Share
Instructions:
 Students will choose a partner to do the Think-Pair-Share.
Think- What is your idea of Contemporary Art Forms and their practices from various
regions?
Pair- Students will ask questions and give comments. Students will create a summary of
their sharing.
Share- Students will share their summary to class.
Activity 4: Spoken Poetry
Instructions:
 Students will write a free-verse poem emphasizing the significance of arts in the lives of
people.
 After writing, students will be given time to prepare in reciting it in class.

Activity1: Reflection Writing
Instructions:
 Students will write a reflection of the lesson regarding various contemporary art forms and
their practices from the various regions.
 After writing, the students will read their reflection to the class.

Activity 2: A Work of Art


Instructions:
 The students will choose a partner and will have to compose a four-verse poem or song.
Students will have to apply all the elements that they have learned from the lesson.
 Students may write in whichever language they prefer and will share their composition in
class.

Activity 3: Film Production


Instructions:
 The students will create a two-minute video presentation promoting their region’s
traditional and contemporary art.

Instructions:
 Students will be grouped into six representing the different contemporary art forms:

 Each group will perform a three (3) to five (5) minute presentation of the art form assigned
to their group.

Instruction:
 Students will be grouped into four. Each group will be given an article to analyze.
 Each member shall contribute their own thoughts and ideas.
 After the group discussion, students will share to class their analysis.

Activity 2: Data Analysis


Instructions:
 The students will be grouped into four and each group will be given a hand-out of an article.
 Students will discuss and analyze the data. After the group discussion, students will share to
the class their analysis.

Activity 3: Picture Analysis


Instructions:
 The teacher will project a slide of images of Filipino national artists.
 Students will have to identify the name of the artist and their form of art.
 Students will also analyze their significant contribution to the country.

Activity 4: Word Puzzle


Instructions:
 Students will be grouped into four and will be given letters of a word.
 Students will have to figure out the word and create their definition of it.

Activity 5. Jigsaw Puzzle


Instructions:
 Students will be grouped into four, and each member will be given the numbers 1, 2, 3 and
4. All group members will meet all members with the same number and brainstorm with
the given topic.
 After the brainstorming, all members will go back to their respective groups and share what
they have discussed.
 After sharing, they will present in class the summary of their learning.

Activity 6: Picture Analysis


Instructions:
 The teacher will post/project an image of an art form on the board.
 Students will have to draw out ideas from the picture.
 Students will share to the class what they think of the projected image.

Activity 7: Simulation (Advertisement)


Instructions:
 Students will be grouped into four.
 Each group will choose an art form from a specific region to promote.
 Members of the group will create a simulated advertisement.
 Each group will perform their act in advertising an art form from a certain region.

 Students will choose an art form from a region.
 Perform in class the importance of the art form.

Activity 5: Street Dance


Instructions:
 Students will be grouped into six (6).
 Each group will choose a type of street dance from grand festivals from their respective
regions.
 Each group will prepare a three (3) to five (5) minute street dance.
 Students should be able to improvise materials as props and costumes.

Activity 6: Poster Making


Instructions:
 On a 1/8 illustration board, students will draw a poster that will promote the beauty of the
art forms of their respective regions.
 Students may use any colouring materials to complete their art.

Instructions:
 Students will be tasked to create an infomercial promoting the art forms from various
