The one that got away

Katty Perry
Summer after high school when we first met
We made out in your Mustang to Radiohead
And on my 18th birthday we got matching tattoos
Used to steal your parents' liquor and climb to the roof
Talk about our future like we had a clue
Never planned that one day I'd be losing you

In another life I would be your girl

We'd keep all our promises, be us against the world
And in another life I would make you stay
So I don't have to say you were the one that got away
The one that got away

I was June and you were my Johnny Cash

Never one without the other, we made a pact
Sometimes when I miss you, I put those records on, whoa
Someone said that you had your tattoo removed
Saw you downtown singing the blues
It's time to face the music, I'm no longer your muse

In another life I would be your girl

We'd keep all our promises, be us against the world
And in another life, I would make you stay
So I don't have to say you were the one that got away
The one that got away

The one, the one, the one

The one that got away

All this money can't buy me a time machine, no

Can't replace you with a million rings, no
I should've told you what you meant to me, whoa
'Cause now I pay the price
In another life I would be your girl
We'd keep all our promises, be us against the world
And in another life, I would make you stay
So I don't have to say you were the one that got away
The one that got away

The one, the one, the one, the one

And in another life I would make you stay

So I don't have to say you were the one that got away
The one that got away

The one that got the way is the best song I have ever listened in my childhood. I
first heard it through a romantic film named “ Love, Rosie”. The song’s meaning
also related to this film’s plot that is about the story of Rosie and her best friend,
Alex who is always next to her when they were children. Some invisible barriers
and misunderstandings tear them apart and miss each other so many years before
they find themself. The song is like a love letter that written by Rosie to Alex. She
showed him her love and her regret that she didn’t make him stay. She promised in
another life she would be his girl like they had a clue. Their story was so beautiful
because they silently sacrificed for each other and never stopped finding the true
love even how much time they waited. The song with the passionate melody
makes listeners feel as their own story. I think each one always has a muse who
make them believe in love and sometimes we have to accept that we will lose them
one day. In other words, Don’t be so shy to show your love to anyone , don’t feel
pity to what you give for someone like Rosie said “ I should've told you what you
meant to me”.
