The observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day on 31't October
serves to reinforce our commitment to strengthen the security, unity and integrity of our
country. It not only commemorates the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the
architect of national integration of independent India, but also re-affirms the inherent strenglh
and resilience of our people to withstand threats to the security, unity and integrity of the
country.

2. In view of above, you are requested to issue appropriate directions to all the schools to
observe Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 3l't October, 2019 taking up following activities:
i. A Pledge taking ceremony to mark the occasion (Pledge is enclosed).
ii. A "Run for Unity" may be organized to promote the message of national unity.
iii. Essay, Debate, Quiz competitions on the theme of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
iv. Prabhat Pheri by students and teachers.

3. Wide participation of students and teachers of all schools and social media coverage
may be ensured. The action taken report in the subject matter may be furnished to the
Department on email id [email protected].
