Activity Design
I. Title:
“Skills Enhancement Training for Child Development Workers”

II. Date and Venue:

October 24-25, Maribert Inland Resort, Lantangan, Pontevedra, Capiz

III. Rationale:

As mandated by the law, it is the right of the children to survival, development,


participation and social protection. As the first crucial stage of educational
development of children and to properly support parents on their roles as primary
caregivers and children’s first teachers, there is a need for continuous education and
development of Child Development Workers.

This activity aims to capacitate, enable and enhance the CDW’s for their further
growth as educators, second parents, and role models of the children. This is parallel
with the ongoing efforts of the Department of Social Welfare and Development
Office and Local Government Unit to automate and maximize its frontline services.

IV. Objectives:

In the end of the two-day activity, the participants would be able to:
a. Gain adequate knowledge on Republic Act 10410 or also known as Early
Years Act of 2013.
b. Learn necessary information for appropriate implementation of the New
Guidelines of Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP).
c. Equipped with new leanings on the New Early Learning Curriculum (NELC)
for Pre-K1 (3-3.11 years old) and Pre-K1 (4-4.11 years old)
