Section of Solid and Development of Surfaces
1. A pentagonal pyramid of base 30 mm and axis 70 mm rest on its base on HP with base side parallel to HP. It is cut by
a section plane 450 to HP and passing through the point on axis 30 mm above the base. Draw the projections of
sectioned object and TS of section.
2. A pentagonal prism with 30 mm base side and 60 mm height is resting on its base edge such that its axis makes 45 0
to HRP and parallel to FRP. It is cut by sectional plane parallel to HRP and perpendicular to FRP passing through
edge of top face, which is parallel to HRP. Draw FV and sectional TV.
3. A cylinder of base diameter 50 mm and height 70 mm is resting on HP. It is cut by a section plane perpendicular to
VP, inclined at 450 to HP and passing through the point on the axis 10 mm below the circular top. Draw the sectional
FV, TV and TS of the section.
4. A hexagonal pyramid with side of base 30 mm and axis 60 mm long is resting on its base edge on HRP, having an
edge of base parallel to FRP. It is cut by a section plane which is perpendicular to FRP and inclined 45 0 to HRP and
passing through a point on the axis, 25 mm above the base. Draw its FV, sectional TV and true shape of section.
5. A pentagonal pyramid with base side 30 mm and axis 50 mm long is resting on its base in HP having an edge of base
perpendicular to HP. It is cut by AIP so that true shape of section is an isosceles triangle having 40 mm base.
Complete FV, TV and TS of section.
6. A hexagonal pyramid of base side 40 mm and axis 70 mm stands on HP with two sides parallel to VP. It is cut by
sectional plane 450 to VP and passing 12 mm away from axis. Draw SFV, TV and true shape of section.

Development of Surfaces
1. A pentagonal base pyramid with base side 30 mm and axis 60 mm long is resting on its base on HP, having an edge
of base parallel to VP. It is cut by a section plane inclined at 450 to HP, perpendicular to VP and passing through a
point on the axis 25 mm from the base. Draw development of lateral surface of remaining portion of pyramid.
2. A pentagonal base prism with 30 mm base and 50 mm height is resting on HP with one of its base edge normal to
VP. It is cut by a sectional plane inclined at 300 to HP, perpendicular to VP and passing through a point on the axis
20 mm below the apex. Draw development of lateral surface.
3. A pentagonal base prism with base side 40 mm and one side parallel to VP stands on HP. It carries a hole of 40 mm
diameter at the center of 80 mm axis of prism, such that axis of hole is perpendicular to VP. Complete the
development of lateral surfaces of the prism.
4. A circular cylinder with base diameter of 50 mm is resting on its base on HP. It is cut by square hole side 30 mm, its
sides equally inclined to HP and axis perpendicular to VP at center of 70 mm axis of cylinder. Complete the
development of lateral surfaces of cylinder.
Complete the development of lateral surfaces of
pyramid.
