book.
CONCEPT OR Heat transfer takes place from one object to another when there is a
PRINCIPLE temperature difference between them. Thermal energy can be
transferred from one point to another by either one or more of the
following three methods:
Conduction - a medium is required.
Convection - a medium is required
Radiation - no medium is required. Energy can be transferred in a
vacuum.
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, student will be able to:
• Describe the mechanism of thermal conduction.
Understanding
Applying
Solve problems in one-dimensional heat flow.
Use the concept of equivalent conductor to solve numerical problems involving composite conductors.
Outline principles involved in the experimental determination of thermal conductivity of good and bad
conductors.
Applying
Evaluating
PROCESS SKILLS
During this lesson, student will be engaged in:
Identifying/formulating a problem El
Designing and Planning an experimental procedure □
Setting-up and executing experimental work □
Observing and measuring □
