We wish to express our gratitude to several teachers and ministers whose ministries have
been a great blessing to us. This manual includes lessons learned during years of hands-
on practical ministry and through exposure to the teachings of John and Paula Sandford,
Derek Prince, Neil Anderson, Henry Malone and Jimmy Evans. Without the benefit of
their collective understanding and the weaving together of their teachings with our own
ministry experiences, this manual would not have been possible

Introduction
W hen Jesus came to earth, He both! re~ and demonstrate the gospel of the
Kingdom of God. The Kingdom ofUod is the c'omirrg ofHi~ rule and reign into
eve!y~area.oflife. God's Kingdom brings freedom, order, peace and love to lost .
humanity. We believe that Jesus came to "setthe captives free, " according to Luke 4: 18,
19, and that same ministry is still available for us today by the Holy Spirit.
Luke 4: 17 tells us that Jesus went into the synagogue and read the following passage
from Isaiah's prophecy:
The Spirit of the Lord is u on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to
the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim
the acceptable year of the Lord.
LUKE4: 18, 19
We believe Luke 4: 18, 19 are Jesus' job description. The remaining verses in Luke 4 and
following indicate that Jesus then went out preaching the gospel ofthe Kingdom and
demonstrating the gospel by casting out demons and healing the sick. Since "Jesus Christ
is the same yesterday, today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8), we believe that He is still
ministering Luke 4: 18, 19 by the power of His Spirit. As His disciples, thi~job..
description is our ministry also.
This manual is designed to help you discover and understand the freedom Jesus paid for
at the Cross so that you can experience His freedom and be a disciple who helps others
experience it too. The information in the following pages has been tested and tried. These
truths will make you free if you are willing to receive them and take personal
responsibility to walk in them. Once you are free, you can minister that same healing and
freedom from the Lord to those around you.
We want to set the captives free, and in order to do so, we must understand how people
have become enslaved to specific bondages and how to effectively help them find
freedom and wholeness.
Peo le in bpndag~re people in pain, and pain indicates that s01l!ethiIlgis wrong. God
wants us to be free, and Jesus paicfror our freedom at the Cross. But His goal is not just
to relieve our pain; His goal is to conform us to His image (see Romans 8:29). Therefore,
we want to look for the (oots (the events that really caused the pain); and not focus only
on theM[uits/(the wrong thoughts or behaviors that result from the pain) that we see.
5
Jesus promised us freedom in John 8:31, 32:
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, ''If you abide in My word, you are My
disciples indeed And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. "
The truth is not a set of rules or principles; it is Jesus, the living Word. As we know Him,
know His Word, choose to put our faith in Him and fully embrace the Holy Spirit who
leads us into truth, we will be set free.
To Receive Ministrv .
1.Receive the complete acceptance and love of the Father and discover your new identity
as a son or daughter of God.
2. Receive and fully embrace the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one who leads us into
truth and heals us of the hurts and pains that we have experienced in this life. He, the
Holy Spirit, makes the truth real in our lives (see John 16: 13).
3. Give your whole heart to God and take personal responsibility for your actions.
4. Inorder to walk in these truths, you must deal with wrong responses to situations in
your life and close the doors that are legally open to the enemy so that you can get free
and stay free. (For more information on open doors, see page 25).
5. Then, you must reckon your old man dead to sin and alive to God (see Romans 6: 11).
If you belong to Christ, then you are baptized into His death; and because He is raised
from the dead you are raised to walk in new life with Him (see Romans 6:4).
6. Lastly, you must pull down the strongholds in your mind (see 2 Corinthians 10:4).
Wrong thought patterns will keep you in bondage, but "the truth shall make you free"
(John 8:32).
We pray that each person who reads this manual would discover
the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit ...

W e believe that this passage speaks of three things that are extremely important: love,
identity and purpose. Genesis 1:26 clearly shows that we were created in God's
image, which speaks of His love for us. It also says that God created us in His likeness,
which gives us our identity. We also believe that Genesis 1:28 defines our purpose, which
is to advance the Kingdom of God.
We do not believe that God has changed His mind since the beginning of time. Though
we lost our position through the fall in the garden (see Genesis 3), Jesus made a way
through the Cross for us to be restored, to know His love, to discover our identity as sons
and daughters of God and to fulfill our purpose of advancing His Kingdom.
-~~~~
The love of Ihe Father
We believe that the love ofthe Father is the primary area in our lives that the devil
attacks with lies and deception. The devil wants us to believe that God is angry with us,
when in fact, God loves us so much that He gave us His only Son to die for us (see John
3: 16). The following verses speak of the truth of God's love.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in
Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
JOHN3:16
But God demonstrates His own love toward 'Us,in that while we were still sinners, Christ
died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved
from wrath through Him. For ifwhen we were enemies we were reconciled to God
through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by
His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
ROMANS 5:8-11
Receiving the love of the Father is the most important life-changing thing that can happen
to anyone. His love establishes a foundation in our lives that neither the enemy nor man
7
can shake. Knowing His love is not just gaining information, which is important, but
having the Holy Spirit to make the knowledge of God real in our lives. Ifwe ask, He will
reveal His love to us.
In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten
Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved
God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 JOHN 4:9, 10
.
He who did not spare His own son, but delive.redHim up for us all, how shallHe not with
'Him also freely give us all things? --
- ROMANS 8:32 .
The love of the Father brings us into complete acceptance and forgiveness of sin. It
causes us to enter into His presence and experience an intimacy with Him that is beyond
anything we have ever encountered.
IdentilV
After discovering His awesome love, we must realize that we are not simply loved and
forgiven, but "accepted in the Beloved" as sons and daughters of God (see Ephesians
1:6). We are actually in a place offavor with God, literally, "friends" of God (see John
15: 12-15). Our true identity is "in Him" and He is "in us" (see Colossians 1:27) and we
are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5: 17). Appendix C further explains who we are in
Christ, but the verses below are also helpful.
To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery
among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
COLOSSIANS 1:27
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away;
behold, all things have become new.
2 CORINTIIIANS 5: 17
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every
spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us jJJ Him before the
foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,
having'predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the
good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us
.* accepted in the Beloved.
EpHESIANS 1:3-6
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were
baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither
slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And
if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham 's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
GALATIANS 3:26-29
8
But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman,
born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the
adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into
your hearts, crying out, ''Abba, Father!" Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son,
and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
GALATIANS 4:4-7
Purpose - ~.;" ~ 5
Along with a revelation of the Father's awesome love and our identity "in Him," we must
fmd God's purpose and destiny for our lives, which is to be joint heirs with Jesus (see
+-» ,,-
Romans 8: 16, 17), advancing His Kingdom and joining Him in His ministry of setting the
captivesfree. Genesis 1:28 describes the ministry of advancing the Kingdom of God: "Be
fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the
sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
God has a specific plan for everyone, but the verse below gives us insight into our
corporate purpose and position as children of God.
For you did not receive the spirit of ~;in to fear, but you received the Spirit of
adoption by whom we cry out, ''Abba, Father." The Spirit Himself bears witness with our
spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs-heirs of God and joint
heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
ROMANS 8:15-17
God gave us the "Spirit of adoption," which brings us into intimacy with Him and reveals
His awesome love to us. He wants us to know and experience His love.
The Holy Spirit also reveals that we are children of God. This establishes our true
identity, and allows us to say with complete confidence, "I am now accepted in the
family of God as His beloved child." In addition to receiving His love and discovering
our identity as sons and daughters of God, we are now joint heirs with Jesus, doing the
same work.He did when He was on the earth. In order for this to become real in our lives,
we must completely receive and embrace the Holy Spirit. Let's pray for this revelation to
become real to each of us.
Praver
Father, I come in the name of Jesus and ask You to give me the Spirit of adoption, so that
I might know Your love. I also ask You to give me revelation of my position as a child of
God and a joint heir with Jesus. Help me to fully experience Your love and acceptance.
Lord, thank you for such a great salvation that You paid for at the Cross. Help me to
walk in all that You paidfor. Now give me strength to join You in Your ministry of setting
the captives free, advancing Your Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.
In Jesus' name, amen.

Experiencing and Embracing
the Holv Spirit
J esus promised His disciples before the crucifixion that the Holy Spirit, who would be
just like He was, would come to them. The Holy Spirit did come at Pentecost, and He is
still our Helper, Comforter, Counselor, Strengthener and Standby. In order to grow in
God, we need to understand who the Holy Spirit is and what He does in our lives. Ifwe
do not develop our own personal intimacy with the Holy Spirit=allowing Him to reveal
Jesus to us, and really listening to what He says--we will never have true relationship
with the Lord; we will only have religion.
We need the power of the Holy Spirit and His manifestations if we are going to be the
army of God and be disciples who minister Luke 4: 18, 19. God is operating by His Spirit
in the earth today and we must fully embrace the Holy Spirit if we are going to be
disciples who make a difference for the Kingdom of God.
1. He is the Spirit of God; therefore, He is God. He is from God, and He glorifies God.
2. He is our Helper.
3. He is our Teacher.
4. He is the Spirit of truth.
5. He is the Spirit of adoption.
- tHe is GOd.
God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
JOHN 4:24
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2 CORINTHIANS 3: 17
But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth
who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
JOHN 15:26
.,
11
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to departfrom
Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which," He said, ''you have heard
from Me;"
ACTS 1:4
2. He is our Helper.
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with
you forever--the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees
Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
JOHN14: 16, 17
Jesus said that the Father would send another Helper who would abide with us forever.
This Helper is the Holy Spirit. The word another means that He is just like Jesus is. He is
our Helper, Comforter, and Strengthener, and He is "the Spirit oftruth." He promises that
we will know Him, "for He dwells with [us] and will be in [us]" (John 14: 17). In fact,
Jesus told His disciples that His going away was actually good for them so that they
could experience the Holy Spirit.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go
away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
JOHN16:7
3. He is our Teacher.
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you
all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
JOHN14:26
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we
might know the things that have been freely given to us by God These things we also
speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches,
comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things
of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they
are spiritually discerned
1 CORINTIllANS2: 12-14
It is the Holy Spirit who makes known to us the things that Jesus has freely given to us.
He makes these things known through the truth of the Word. He takes the Word, which is
truth, and makes it real to us.
But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need
that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teahces you concerning all things, and
is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
1 JOHN2:27
12
4. He is the Spirit 01truth.
And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of
judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go My to
Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world isjudged I
still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He,
the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His
own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that
the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.
J011N 16:8-15
He is the Spirit of truth and He leads us into truth. He reveals to us the truth that makes us
free. He will speak to us and tell us things to come, and will glorify Jesus by taking what
belongs to Him and declaring it to us.
But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of
man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." But God has revealed
them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of
God For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in
him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God Now we have
received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who isfrom God, that we might know
the things that have been freely given to us by God
1 CORINTIllANS 2:9-12
The Holy Spirit is "the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out' Abba, Father. '" This
allows us to experience one of the most awesome aspects of the Christian life-truly,
deeply, personally receiving the love of the Father.
What wonderful things the Holy Spirit will do! Ifwe are going to become disciples who
make a difference, we must drop all reservations about the Holy Spirit and His
manifestations and fully receive Him into our lives.
l3
Receiving the Holv Spirit
Before His crucifixion, Jesus told His disciples that it was to their advantage for Him to
go away (see John 16:7). Only after that 'could the Holy Spirit come. What an awesome
statement He made. He later told these same disciples to not leave Jerusalem (to go and
make disciples of all nations), until they were endued with the power of the Holy Spirit,
even though in John 20:23, He had breathed on them to receive the Holy Spirit (see also
Luke 24:49).'
We, too, must receive the Holy Spirit and His power if we are going to be effective
disciples who make a difference and advance the Kingdom of God on earth. We believe
that embracing Him as Spirit is the only way to have a deep and intimate relationship
with the Lord and hear His voice clearly, which is the basis from which we influence the
world around us in godly ways. We must fully, without reservation, receive and embrace
the Holy Spirit and all of His manifestations. How do we do this?
John the Baptist told us "He (Jesus) is the one who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit
and fire" (Matthew 3: 11). Though some theological persuasions would not agree, it is
clear that Jesus felt it was necessary for His disciples to be endued with the power of the
Holy Spirit before they entered the next phase of ministry (see Acts 1:4-8). In fact, Jesus
did not begin His ministry until He had received the Holy Spirit in a way that was visible'
to others (see Luke 3:22; Luke 4:19).
Jesus Himself received the Holy Spirit, was anointed by the Holy Spirit and ministered
by the power of the Holy Spirit, as we can see from the Scriptures below.
And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came
from heaven which said, "You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased"
LUKE 3:22
The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to
the poor; he has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed;
LUKE 4: 18
God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about
H •••
doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
ACTS 10:38
Jesus promised that God would give us the Holy Spirit ifwe ask. The prayer at the end of
this chapter is designed to help you ask for the Holy Spirit in all of His fullness and to
help you ask Him to release His gifts in you so that you can be fully equipped for the
ministry of setting the captives free.

The Baptism of the HOly Spirit
Fromthe beginning of the church, throughout history, the baptism of the Holy Spirit has
been an integral and crucial aspect of the lives of God's people. This baptism has been
experienced by millions of people worldwide for hundreds of years, and it is for us today.
We believe that the baptism with the Holy Spirit is extremely important if we are going to
advance the Kingdom of God on earth.
Now let's look at what Scripture has to say about being baptized with the Holy Spirit.
... to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs,
being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the
kingdom of God. And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to
depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which," He said, "you
have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with
the Holy Spirit not many days from now. " Therefore, when they had come together, they
asked Him, saying, "Lord, Will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?" And He
said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in his
own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and
you shall be witnesses to Me in Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
ACTS 1:3-8
Yes, there are usually some outward manifestations of receiving the Holy Spirit, one of
which is speaking in unknown tongues. The experience of speaking in another tongue
was normal in the experience of the first-century Christian. But, tonguesis not the real
issue. The real issue is receiving power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you (see
Acts 1:8). Speaking in tongues is a benefit for the believer, but receiving Him is most
important.
The enemy fights our receiving the Holy Spirit with everything he has, He does not want
Christians to be empowered to do anything, Therefore, he tries to draw our attention to
tongues or some other manifestation, so we will miss truly receiving Him.
15
Have You Received the Holv Spirit;»
Have you received the Holy Spirit? We must receive Him and allow Him to empowerus
to do the work of ministry He has called us to do. Ifwe are going to minister the truth of
God's freedom, we must be baptized with the Holy Spirit (sometimes called "baptized in
the Holy Spirit"). A person who is baptized with the Holy Spirit is literally "immersed" in
the Holy Spirit. Consider the following Scriptures about this baptism.
John answered, saying to all, ''I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is
coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with
the Holy Spirit andfire.
LUKE 3:16
Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem
until you are endued with power from on high.
LUKE 24:49
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be
witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
ACTS 1:8
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and itfilled
the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as
of fire, and one sat on each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and
. began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
ACTS 2:1-4
And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the
upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples he said to them, ''Did you
receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" So they said to him, ''We have not so much as
heard whether there is a Holy Spirit. And he said to them, ''Into what then were you
JJ
baptized?" So they said, ''Into John's baptism. Then Paul said, ''John indeed baptized
JJ
with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who
would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized
in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit
came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied
ACTS 19:1-6
So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will
be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeksfinds, and to him
who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he
give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or
if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to
give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy
Spirit to those who ask Him!
LUKE 11:9-13
16
..
•
As Paul asked some disciples in Acts 19:2, have you received the Holy Spirit since you
believed? Now is the time to fully receive the Holy Spirit and be baptized with Him so
you can receive all the benefits He has for you.
Summary
The Holy Spirit is God. He is our Helper, our Teacher, our Comforter and our friend. He
is the Spirit of truth, and is the only one who reveals the Word to us and leads us into
truth. He is the Spirit of adoption, and reveals the love of the Father to us. He speaks to us
what He hears from heaven and reveals the things that have been freely given to us. We
must fully embrace the Holy Spirit, for He is the key to every aspect of an intimate,
vibrant, fulfilling relationship with God.
17
The following heart attitudes are important preparation for receiving ministry.
Now the Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name
of the Lord. And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God,
merciful and gracious, longsujfering, and abounding in goodness and truth ... "
EXODUS 34:5,6
We must seek Him, not just His hand (the things He will give us). He is a jealous God
and He zealously wants all of our affection and attention. Making anything or anyone
more important to us than God is idolatry. When the Israelites turned their hearts from
God, that idolatry led to their downfall. God has not changed. He still wants our whole
heart. Jesus said that God's greatest commandment is to love Him ''with all your heart"
(see Matthew 22:37). He wants us to love Him with all of our hearts, not just to seek Him
for relief from our pain. Ifwe seek Him with our whole heart, we will find Him (see
Jeremiah 29: 13); and when we find Him, we discover everything we need.
1if, and it will be given to you; s.!!,!.k,and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to
you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeksfinds, and to him who knocks it
will be opened. ...If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those
who ask Him!
MATTIIEW 7:7-11

L
2. Humble vourself under the mightY hand of GOd.
When we humble ourselves, we are acknowledging that we need the Lord not only for
help, but for life itself If we humble ourselves, then the Lord can release grace in our -
lives. A lack of humility before the Lord is one of the biggest obstacles to receiving from
Him. Ifwe do not humble ourselves, God's grace will not be released. Humility is not
just acting in a certain self-effacing way, but a heart attitude of being totally dependent
upon God. We must have God's grace, His unmerited favor, in our lives. In order to
receive it, we must humble ourselves before Him.
{iiumble yoursel~in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
JAMEs4:10
Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be
submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility for God resists the proud, but
gives grace to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God,
that He may exalt you in due time.
1 PETER5:5,6
Thus says the Lord: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength,
whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall
not see when good comes, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt
land which is not inhabited. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope
is in the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its
roots by the river and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will
not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.
JEREMIAH17:5-8
Praver
Father, please forgive me for seeking Your hand and not Your face. Forgive me for
idolatry, for not loving You first with all of my heart. I repent of all pride and I humble
myself under Your mighty hand. I ask You to release Your grace in my life as You
" conform me to Your image. In Jesus' name, amen.
20
3. Accept responsibililV for vour actions and responses.
We must call sin what God calls sin and repent. Our problems do not arise from what was
done to us, but from our negative responses to those things. When the fall took place 'in
the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve both blamed someone else for their actions (see
Genesis 3: 11-13). This is often our attitude. We want to blame others and not take
personal responsibility for our thoughts and behaviors; but we must take personal
responsibility for our actions and attitudes.
Remember, "the wages of sin is death," separation from God (Romans 6:23). Jesus came
to forgive our sins and, through the power of the Cross-the power of His death and
resurrection. At the Cross, He rendered sin powerless in our lives. We are no longer held
captive to sin, but we must turn from all sin (repent), agreeing with God that sin is so
horrible that it cost Jesus His life.
Do you see your actions, thoughts, and attitudes as sin and worthy of Jesus' death? If you
do, and accept personal responsibility for them, confess them and truly turn from them.
Not only will you be forgiven and cleansed, but you will be given the power to overcome.
Repentance is crucial because it releases the power of God in our lives.
1. By denying that their actions, attitudes and responses are sin by calling them
"problems. "
2. By blaming someone else. ,..
3. By calling sin what God calls sin.
Which one of these three ways do you handle your sin? It is so important to agree with
= God and call any actions, attitudes and responses that do not line up with Scripture, sin.
There are two ways to respond biblically to sin, and we must do both:
1. Confess (agree with God). Be honest as you tell Rim how you have sinned.
2.Repent (change the way you think, act and respond). The Bible places major emphasis
on repentance. We believe that the degree of repentance a person genuinely expresses
determines the degree of the freedom he or she experiences.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness.
1 JOHN 1:9
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be
healed The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
JAJ\.1ES5: 16
He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them
will have mercy.

We Are at War
So the Lord God said to the serpent: "Because you have done this, you are cursed more
than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; on your belly you shall go, and you
shall eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise His heel. "
GENESIS 3: 14, 15
A war is raging between God's children and the forces of darkness. It is led by the
devil, and earth is the battlefield. The devil has been kicked out of heaven (see
Revelation 12:4, 7-9) and will ultimately be cast into the lake offire, along with his
demons, when Jesus returns at the end oftime (see Revelation 20: 10). Until then, the
Kingdom of God is in conflict with the kingdom of darkness (see Matthew 13:36-43).
In this war, we do not battle against other people, but against the forces of darkness. We
must fight. There is no way to stay out of the conflict. The Bible gives us the following
instructions so that we can fight well, and it defines our enemies for us.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the
whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness
in the heavenly places.
EpHESIANS 6: 10-12
Jesus dealt with the devil in the wilderness (see Luke 4: 1-11), and continued to cast out
demons when He encountered them. We battle not only against the devil (who is not
everywhere, but is a single being), but also against his demonic hosts, who fell from
heaven with him. There are ranks of demonic spirits (demons).
The devil, our enemy, is a created being and has always been under God's dominion.
From the beginning of time, we see him trying to gain authority through lies and deceit.
He is still doing that today. Jesus, when He came to earth, completely defeated the devil.
The following Scriptures assure us of Jesus' victory.
23
Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them,
triumphing over them in it.
COLOSSIANS 2: 15
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose
the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
1 JOHN 3:8
and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to
the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from
the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all
principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only
in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and
gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him
who fills all in all.
EpHESIANS 1: 19-23
OurAUlhority in Chrisl
All authority is in Jesus, and He has given us authority over the evil one. Because we are
"in Christ," we have the same authority that Jesus has. Therefore, we fight from the
position of victory, the victory that Jesus paid for with His life. His victory is our victory.
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven
and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all
things that I have commanded you; and 10, I am with you always, even to the end of the
age. "A men.
MATTIIEW 28: 18-20
Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in
Your name." And He said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightningfrom heaven. Behold, I
give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the
enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that
the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names
are written in heaven. "
LUKE 10: 17-20
Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, ''Now salvation, and strength, and the
kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our
brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And
they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they
did not love their lives to the death.
REVELATION 12: 10-11
But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God
has come upon you.

The Devil's Access
10 Our lives
A s important as it is to cast out demons, casting out demons is not the most important
issue. What is most important is being sure the demons do not have access to you.
The devil can gain access to our lives in two ways:
1. Intrusion
2. Legal Ground
Intrusion
Intrusion happens when the devil trespasses and tries to get us to believe a lie, thereby
deceiving us in some way. Demons are looking for an opportunity to harass and afflict
people and if we do not resist the devil and his demons, they will do exactly that.
We do not believe that Christians can be possessed, but we can certainly be oppressed
and afflicted by evil spirits if we do not understand Jesus' victory and our position of
victory in Him. Even if we do understand this, the enemy can still try to afflict us. We
must stand against him because he roams about "seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter
5:8).
,...
One way the devil intrudes is by constantly bombarding us with lies and improper
thoughts. These are the "fiery darts" that our shield offaith can deflect (see Ephesians
6: 16). Are you aware that every thought you have may not originate in your own mind?
~ That is why we must take every thought captive to the obedience of God (see 2
Corinthians 10:3-5).
If the devil cannot defeat you, he will then try to defeat someone close to you in order to
get to you. Remember, we do not fight against flesh and blood.
legal Ground
Legal ground is exactly what you might think it is. When we sin, we actually open the
door of our lives to the devil and his demons. When we allow them to come in, we have
given them legal access to us. Paul explained this in the verse below.
Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's
slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death,
or of obedience leading to righteousness?
ROMANS 6:16
25
All disobedience to God is sin and all sin is an open door to the devil and his demons.
They will come in if we allow them to. Therefore, it is imperative that we close all open
doors to the enemy.
Galatians 5: 19-21 lists many deeds of the flesh. We are told that those who practice such
things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish
ambitions, dissensions, heresies, enry, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of
which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice
such things will not inherit the kingdom of God
GALATIANS 5: 19-21
If you open the door to these areas of the flesh, you will soon find a demon working to
stimulate that particular area of the flesh. He (the demon) will then bring along other
spirits to try to get you into even more bondage.
The real issue is not casting out demons or even taking authority over them. What is most
important is that we make sure that all open doors are shut, that we are filled with the
Spirit and clothed in the armor of God (see Ephesians 6:11-17).
Praver
Father, please show me every open door in my life
that has allowed the enemy to have access to me.
Help me to turn to You in humility and repentance,
and close those doors so that I can be free.
In Jesus' name, amen.

Disbonor and Rebellion
D ishonoring your parents and rebellion in your life are two ways the devil can gain
legal access to you, and they are often intertwined. The first commandment in the
Bible that has a promise attached to it deals with honoring your parents.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father
and mother, " which is the first commandment with promise:
"that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth. "
EpHESIANS 6: 1-3
Scripture affirms that not honoring our parents will cause problems for us. Honoring or
not honoring our parents really sets the stage for the rest of our lives. If we have problems
with our parents, we open the door to rebellion and this rebellion opens the door for us to
reject other forms of authority in our lives. The Bible is very clear about rebellion.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you
from being king.
1 SAMUEL 15:23
Rebellion is sin and we must root it out of our liveCIf rebellion is allowed to work in us,
"If( we usually reject authority in our lives.
Understanding Authoritv
Our response to authority (God's delegated authority, which begins in the home and
applies also to church and work) is an attitude of the heart. God has ordained authority as If
a place of safety. If we are not under authority (again, God's delegated authority: parents,
employers, church leaders, etc.) we are in rebellion. This opens the door to the enemy and
= keeps us from having any authority over him. Our authority is "in Christ" and not in
ourselves. As we stay in relationship with Him we have authority. Simply put, our
authority comes from being submitted to the Lord and His delegated authority.
=
Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him,
saying, ''Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented." And Jesus
said to him, "1will come and heal him. " The centurion answered and said, ''Lord, I am
not worthy that You should come under my roof But only speak a word, and my servant
will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say
to this one, 'Go' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant,
'Do this, ' and he does it." When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who
followed, "Assuredly, I say to you, I have not foundsuch great faith, not even in Israel!
MATIHEW 8:5-10
=-
27
The centurion understood the power of being under authority. He knew about it because
he held a position of authority and had soldiers under him, submitted to his leadership.
They obeyed him because he, as a military official, was under the authority of an even-
higher military official.
Matthew's account does not say whether or not the centurion knew whose authority Jesus
was under, but he must have seen or heard how demons obeyed Jesus and sicknesses left
when Jesus spoke the word. He recognized this and said, "only speak a word, and my
servant will be healed" (Matthew 5:8). '
The devil does not want us to understand authority, and he certainly does not want us to
be under proper spiritual authority. Proper relationship to authority really is an important
issue and we must allow the Holy Spirit to deal with us in this area. We must allow Him
to show us if we have dishonored our parents or rebelled, and to reveal whether or not we
are properly submitted to authority, especially spiritual authority.
Praver
Father, I repent for dishonoring my parents and ask You to forgive me for not honoring
them. That dishonor was and is rebellion, and I repent for it. I have sinn:t/jJ3ainst You
and I ask You to forgive me and cancel, by the shed blood of Jesus, any gr'1JUiidthat the
enemy has gained through this rebellion. Lord, help me gain a heart of submission,
and please reveal all rebellion that is in my life.
Please show me where I have dishonored any authority, especially spiritual authority.
I repent of all rebellion that has caused me to reject authority in my life.
Please forgive me for rejecting authority.
In Jesus' name, amen.

Anger and Unlorgivenes
A nger and unforgiveness are two more open doors for the devil and both will give him
legal access to our lives. .
"Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath,
nor give place to the devil.
EpHESIANS 4:26, 27
The Greek word for place used in the verse above is a legal term that means "to give
legal ground." When we get angry and do not resolve our emotions properly (which is to
forgive and let go) we open the door for the enemy to have legal access to us.
Anger often begins in the home when we have problems with our parents. Regardless of
what our parents did or said, it is our wrong response to their words or actions that opens
the door to the enemy in our lives.
Many times anger leads to unforgiveness, which will quickly put us in bondage.
Forgiveness (extending love and mercy to those who hurt you) is a major key to freedom.
The following Scriptures give us insight into Jesus' thoughts about the importance of
forgiveness.
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if
you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
MATfHEW 6: 14, 15
Then Peter came to Him and said, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and
I forgive him? Up to seven times?" Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven
times, but up to seventy times seven. Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain
king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. And when he had begun to settle
accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. But as he was not
able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all
29
that he had, and that payment be made. The servant therefore fell down before him,
saying, 'Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all." Then the master of that
servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt. But that
servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii;
and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, 'Pay me what you owe!' So
his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, 'Have patience with me,
and I will pay you all '." And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he
should pay the debt. So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were
very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done. Then his master,
after he had called him, said to him, 'You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt
because you begged me. Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow
servant, just as I had pity on you?' And his master was angry, and delivered him to the
torturers until he should pay all that was due to him. So My heavenly Father also will do
to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses. "
MA1TIIEW 18:21-35
Getting angry and harboring unforgiveness will throw open the door to demonic activity
in your life. You close that door by extending forgiveness from the heart. The reason this
is so important is that Jesus forgave us a debt we could not pay. Therefore, we must
forgive those who have hurt us. Forgiveness is one of the greatest manifestations oflove.
It is the law of the Spirit in Christ Jesus that frees us from the law of sin and death (see
Romans 8:2). Remember, "Love never fails" (1 Corinthians 13:8).
You can forgive, because Christ has already forgiven you, and He forgave first (see 1
John 4: 10). By His Spirit, He gives you the power to forgive. In order for your
forgiveness to be real and from the heart, you may have to deal with your feelings, but
the freedom that will come from forgiving will be worth the struggle of confronting,
confessing and releasing your feelings.
Something to Consider
You cannot change what happened to you, but you can determine how it affects you. You
can forgive the person( s) who hurt you, receive healing and experience real freedom; or
you can hold on to unforgiveness and allow bitterness to keep you in bondage. The
choice is yours. This does not sound fair, but these intentional acts of your will are part of
growing in spiritual maturity.
30
Praver
Father, in the name of Jesus,
I thank You for extending grace, mercy and forgiveness to me.
I confess and repent for not extending the same to others
who have hurt and rejected me. Lord, I choose, in obedience to Your Word, to forgive
and forever release (name or names) fromC the offenses).
In Jesus' name, amen.
Continue to name each person who has caused you pain, pray and release each one until
you have forgiven every person the Holy Spirit shows you. Feelings will come later.
Also, remember to cast down the thoughts that the enemy will bring to you as he tries to
wound you again with the pain of the past.
To make this process of freedom complete, you need to pray for and bless those who
have hurt you. You can do this by the power of God. Jesus said:
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate
you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
MATI1ffiw 5:44
To complete the process offorgiveness, you will need to do all of the above. It may be
hard at first, but you must continue until the pain is gone and you can do so with joy. This
is one way we really do love one another as Christ has loved us (see John 13:34).
Remember, we do not battle against flesh and blood (people), but against the demonic
forces of the devil that are always trying to make us angry and unforgiving so they will
have legal access to us.
If you are ministering to someone who has been abused and violated by a parent, a
relative or anyone else, you may need to lead that person in prayer. Help them to choose
to forgive as an act of their will, name their offenders and release each one. Then help
them to pray for and bless those who have caused pain.
The people who hurt us are usually people who are experiencing their own personal pain.
The ability to see and understand that hurting people hurt people can help you forgive
them.

BiDer-Root Judgments
and Inner Vows
D nforgiveness is usually accompanied by bitter-root judgments and inner vows. Bitter-
root judgments are judgments we make against someone or some institution, and
those judgments lock us into negative patterns that are contrary to God. Inner vows are
simply judgments that we pronounce upon ourselves. This toxic combination will open
the door of our lives to the enemy and lock us into patterns and habits that can ruin us.
Bitter-root judgments, along with unforgiveness, can devastate our lives and
relationships. The Scriptures encourage us to:
Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:
looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness
springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled
HEBREWS 12:14, 15
God's grace is the power of love that goes to work when we forgive someone, extending
grace and mercy to that person. Not until we choose, as an act of the will, to be obedient
to God's Word and God's ways, does His grace begin to work on our behalf Hebrews
12: 15 says that there is grace to be obedient and warns us not to fall short of that grace.
Judge not, that you be not judged For with what judgment you judge, you will be
judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
MATTIffiw 7: 1,2
Therefore you are inexcusable, 0 man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you
judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. But we
know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such
things. And do you think this, 0 man, you who judge those practicing such things, and
doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?
ROMANS 2: 1-3
But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For
we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written: ''As I live, says the
Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God" So then each
of us shall give account of himself to God Therefore let us not judge one another
anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall
in our brother's way.
ROMANS 14:10-13
33
For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy.
Mercy triumphs over judgment.
JAMES 2:13
But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward
will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and
evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and you
shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you
will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken
together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that
you use, it will be measured back to you.
LUKE6:35-38
Spiritual Principles
1. The Law of Sowing and Reaping (see Galatians 6:7)
2. The Law of Multiplication (see Luke 6:38)
3. Seeds germinate at different times, depending on the conditions around them.
4. Good trees bear good fiuit, a bad tree does not bear good fruit (see Luke 6:43, 44)
Do you ever find yourself acting in ways you hated when one (or both) of your parents
acted when you were young? If so, you probably have a bitter-root judgment. Remember,
judging someone else actually locks us into performing that same action or being on the
receiving end of that action in our lives.
For example, if your father was abused your mother in words and/or actions, and you
judged him (held unforgiveness against him for that abuse), you could have a bitter-root
judgment. Even if you love your father, because of this bitter-root judgment you may get
married and find your spouse abusing you. Or, your father may have abused you as a
child. Though you hate what he did to you, you may find yourself being abusive to your
children years later. When you find yourself doing or receiving the very thing you hated,
you are seeing the result of judging wrongly and reaping the effects of that judgment in
your life.
You can gain freedom by releasing forgiveness to the offenders and then repenting of
judgment against them. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the bitter-root judgments that are
working in your life and then pray through each one, asking Him to forgive you and
release you from the penalty of those judgments.
Praver
Father, forgive me for every judgment that has caused a bitter-root to spring up in 11?e.
I repent and call (the judgments) sin. I release (name) from my judgment and ask You to
forgive me and cleanse me from this sin. I ask You to cancel and remove every judgment
and the penalties of those judgments from me.
In Jesus' name, amen.
34
Inner Vows
As mentioned earlier, inner vows are simply judgments that we pronounce against
ourselves. Many times we even speak these vows, and they later bind us to patterns of
behavior we actually hate. We may have said things when we were young and then
having forgotten about them, wonder why they come back on us later.
Examples
"I will never be like my parents."
"I will never treat my children the way my parents treated me."
"I will never trust anyone ever again."
"I will never be poor."
"I will never drink or smoke like my parents did."
These are just some examples of what a person might say when making an inner vow.
One clue to inner vows is that they often begin with the words, "I will never ... "
At this time, ask the Father to reveal any inner vows you could have made in your life.
Look at thought patterns and behaviors you see in your own life (that you really hate) and
see if any of them could be the result of an inner vow.
Praver
Father, please forgive me for making inner vows that are contrary to You and Your
Word. Please show me any and all of inner vows, which are judgments that I have made
against myself and help me break them.
In Jesus' name, amen.
Take some time now to allow the Holy Spirit to show you ifthere are additional inner
vows working in your life. Allow Him to reveal things that you havesaid, and may be
still saying, about yourself that have actually been judgments that have locked you into
destructive patterns of behavior,

Curses
And God spoke all these words, saying: HI am the Lord your God, who brought you out
of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before
Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image-any likeness of anything that is in
heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you
shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of
those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me
. and keep My commandments.
EXODUS 20: 1-6
A ncestral curses (also called generational or bloodline curses) are passed to us through
our families because of iniquity in their lives. We could think of them as curses that
we "inherit." The Hebrew word for iniquity means "a bent toward rebellion, perversity,
moral evil." Iniquity is more than one act of sin or missing the mark. It is a system of
sinful behavior, a way oflife.
Indications of a Curse
If there is a pattern of recurring sin or repeated problems in your life or in your family's
life, then a curse could be operating (see Deuteronomy 28: 15-68). The following seven
problems or tendencies could indicate that a curse is working in your life or in your
family.
37
5. Illicit sex, adultery, fornication, premarital sex, homosexuality (see Deuteronomy
27:20-23)
6. Abortion/murder (see Exodus 20: 13)
1. Illegitimate birth (see Deuteronomy 23:2,3)
8. Trusting in man (see Jeremiah 17:5-8)
9. Stealing and lying (see Zechariah 5: 1-4)
10. Self-imposed curses. Word curses and inner vows (see Matthew 12:36-37)
11. Word curses, which are curses spoken upon you by others, family, mends and/or
enemies (see Numbers 22:6)
12. Curses from unscriptural covenants-Lodge or Masonic involvement, membership in
fraternal organizations, etc. (see Exodus 23:32; 2 Corinthians 6: 14-18)
13. Legalism (see Galatians 3: 10-14)
14. Rebelling against authority (see Romans 13:1; Hebrews 13: 17)
15. Not tithing (see Malachi 3:8-10)
16. Anti-Semitism (see Genesis 12:2, 3)
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is
written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree ''), that the blessing of Abraham might
come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit
through faith.
GALATIANS 3:13, 14
Praver
Be sure to break all generational and bloodline curses back to the 10th generation:
Father God, I repent of the sins of my ancestors and of my sins in the area(s) of
Oistsins) . I ask Your forgiveness for all of these things. I renounce, rebuke,
nullify and cancel the curse of (specify curse) . I declare that the curse, the
assignment of the curse and its effect is broken and canceled in my life from this day
forward, in Jesus' name. Iovercome, by the blood of the Lamb, the word of my testimony
and I love not my life unto death. I believe by faith that Jesus took my curses upon Him
and now I ask You, Holy Spirit, to bring a release andfreedom to me in my inner man.
Now, Satan, you no longer have access to me by these curses.
Thank you, Jesus, amen.

The Occult
Please read Deuteronomy 18:9-14 and Revelation 21:8,22:15
O ccultism is strictly forbidden in Scripture. Any time a person tries to gain entrance
into the supernatural, spiritual realm through illegitimate means, he or she is
practicing occult activity. People involved in occultism attempt to access the spirit realm
through the devil and his counterfeit means instead of going to God and seeking
knowledge, truth and the supernatural through His Holy Spirit.
If you have been involved in any form of fortune telling, tarot cards, palm reading, Ouija
boards, astrology, seances, or anything that involves seeking to know the future from any
source other than God, then you have been or are now involved in the occult. If you have
participated in "anyform of witchcraft, (casting spells, blood pacts, black or white magic,
mind games, etc.), you have been involved in the occult and have given the enemy legal
access to you.
Also, any involvement in cults or false religions opens the door for the enemy to attack
you and bring a curse into your life. Involvement in cults and false religions needs to be
renounced and repentance needs to take place for all participation in activities related to
groups such as these: Christian Science, Unitarianism, Buddhism, Islam, Hare Krishna,
Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, New Age, Hinduism, Freemasonry and other fraternal
organizations, and others.
You need to realize that the enemy is trying to draw you deeper into' the occult if you
have done (or are doing) any of the following:
• participating in any counterfeit religion
• allowing yourself to be hypnotized
• consulting mediums, spiritual guides or channelers
• using mind-altering drugs
• being drawn to any occult phenomena
• obsessively wearing black or gothic attire
• being overly intrigued by death
• thinking about suicide
• religiously listening to heavy metal rock music
Spiritual Housecleaning
Unfortunately, many things we have in our homes can have demonic origin: music, relics
offalse religions, books, magazines, videos, jewelry, seemingly innocent paintings,
statues, sculptures, decorations or other works of art, objects of witchcraft (particularly
from other countries), etc. Ask the Holy Sprit to show You everything that is demonic in
origin or that represents the demonic, the occult, or false religion; and then rid your home
39
of those items. The Scriptures below give biblical precedent for removing such objects
from your possession or from your home.
And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. Also, many of those
who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of
all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver.
So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed
ACTS 19: 18-20
You shall utterly destroy all the places where the nations which you shall dispossess
served their gods, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree.
And you shall destroy their altars, break their sacred pillars, and burn their wooden
images with fire; you shall cut down the carved images of their gods and destroy their
names from that place. You shall not worship the Lord your God with such things.
DEUTERO OMY 12:2-4
You must repent and renounce all of your participation in the occult and ask God to
forgive you for your involvement. Give the Holy Spirit the liberty to convict you and
show you all the areas in your life where you could be open to or actively involved :inthe
occult. He will reveal to you the source, whether it is from God or the devil.
Praver
Father, in the name of Jesus, I turn from and renounce all false religion and all occult
activity I have ever participated in, and I choose to turn to You. Please forgive me jor all
involvement, deliberately or innocently, in false religion, the occult, witchcraft or any
activity or belief that is contrary to You and Your Word I ask You, Holy Spirit, to cut off
all past illegal activity by the blood of Jesus and to cut off all callings, interferences, and
harassment that have come from this involvement. I repent and ask Your forgiveness for
being involved in these activities that are contrary to You and Your Word Lord, I want to
know You and be conformed to Your image. I acknowledge that I need You and I humble
myself before Your mighty hand and ask You to release Your grace in my life.
Thank you, Lord Jesus, amen.

Trauma, Inner Healing
and Soul Ties
Trauma
T rauma is a wound inflicted by sudden physical injury or emotional shock that causes
long-term damage to our spirit, soul and/or body. The enemy is always trying to take
advantage of us, and trauma is an open door through which he gains access to us.
One of the enemy's main tactics is fear, which is always associated with trauma. He uses
trauma in our lives to open a door to the spirit of fear. The enemy tries to make us afraid
not only of him, but of many other things. The spirit of fear brings all sorts of other spirits
with it to afflict us.
Fear is the opposite of faith, which is what connects us to God and His promises. Faith is
the "currency" of the Kingdom of God. Our use of it helps us to receive from the Lord.
Likewise, the enemy uses fear. It appears that fear motivates and stimulates the kingdom
of darkness, and is the currency of that kingdom. Therefore, the enemy tries to get us to
be afraid and frightened, which opens the door for him to attack us.
41
Inner Healing
The enemy deals many blows to God's people and then blames God for them. Many of
these attacks come through people who are, or should be, very close to us. God has
provided physical, emotional, and spiritual healing for us through Jesus and His ministry,
by the power of the Holy Spirit and the work of the Cross.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to
the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim
the acceptable year of the Lord
LlJKE4:18 19
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of eneeance of our God; to
comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion; to eive them beauty for
ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit 0 heaviness; that
they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be
glorified
ISAIAH 61 :2,3
Right now, please review the chapter entitled ''Love, Identity and Purpose." After you
have reviewed that chapter, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal where you have been hurt,
wounded, abused or terribly disappointed in the past. You will probably need to write
down these areas of pain. Often, unresolved feelings from the past (particularly from
childhood and adolescence) open the door for these hurts. If you were abused or violated
as a young person, the Holy Spirit is the only one who can truly heal you. Whatever the
case, you must release the hurts, pains and unresolved feelings to the Lord.
Only the Holy Spirit can heal the wounds of the past. We need to ask the Holy Spirit to
remove the pain of past memories as we repent of all judgment and all unforgiveness. Do
not ask the Holy Spirit to remove the memories of what happened, but to take away the
hurt and pain. Many times the Holy Spirit, by the gifts of the Spirit, will give you
assurance that He knows your specific situation(s) and is able to cover and remove your
hurt. He is not restrained by time and space because He is Spirit; and by His power, He
can truly heal the wounds. Trust in His power to bring healing to the past and let Him
remove all your hurts and pain.
Praver
Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You to reveal all trauma in my life that has
opened a door for the enemy. By the power of the Holy Spirit, please heal the hurt
and pain inflicted in me by Oist every occurrence of trauma). Lord, I ask You to bind
up my broken heart and bring true healing to my soul. Set me free from the hurt and
pain of past disappointments. Now, Lord, take all the hurt and redeem it for good
In Jesus' name, amen.
If you have been a victim of abuse, you may need additional ministry to free you from
your pain and hurt. The good news is that healing is available to you through the Holy
Spirit as He ministers the freedom that Jesus paid for with His own life and blood.

Soul Ties
A soul tie is formed when your soul (mind, will or emotions) becomes connected to or
someone else in an unhealthy way. This can easily happen in family relationships
between family members. A soul tie can also be formed in a dating relationship or in a
platonic friendship. One prime example of a soul tie is codependency. .
One of the primary ways soul ties are formed is through unlawful sexual relations with
someone who is not your spouse.
Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power. Do you not
know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ
and make them members of a harlot? Certainly notf Or do you not know that he who is
joined to a harlot is one body with her? For "the two, " He says, "shall become one flesh. "
But he who isjoined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin
. that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against
his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is
in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a
price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
1 CORJNTHIANS 6: 13-20 .
We need to let the Holy Spirit show us if we have any unhealthy soul ties to anyone.
Then, we need to repent of every way we have contributed to or participated in that soul
tie, particularly in any sexual relations outside of marriage.
Praver
Father, in the name of Jesus, please show me every soul tie that I may have in my life.
Holy Spirit, reveal any soul tie that may have me bound to any person or any institution
or anything that is not of you. I repent of all sexual relations outside of marriage, which
have opened the door for the enemy to have to access to me. Now, in the name of Jesus
please sever any and all soul ties forever, canceling their power in my life.
In Jesus' name, amen.
Now take some time and let the Holy Spirit reveal any additional soul tie or any other
connection or relationship that is ungodly. Repent of each thing the Lord shows you and
ask for forgiveness. If you have been violated in any way, forgive the person who
violated you and ask God to break any soul tie that may be a result of that violation.

Freedom trom the Flesh
I we
f allow the deeds of the flesh to work in our lives we will continue to open the door
to the enemy. Therefore, we must put to death the deeds of the flesh and choose to put
on the new-the image of Jesus.
Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness,
passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the
wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once
.walked when you lived in them. But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger,
wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another,
since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is
renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
COLOSSIANS 3: 5-1 0
At the Cross, the power of sin was canceled in our lives. God causes us to "live and
reign" in Him as we appropriate the truth ofthe Cross and the resurrection in our lives
(see Romans 5: 17, 21).
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly notf
How shall we who died to sin live any longer in ti? Or do you not know that as many of
us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were
buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead
by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have
been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness
of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body
of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who
has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall
also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more.
Deaht no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once
for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
ROMANS 6:1-10
Romans 6: 1-10 helps us understand that we were baptized into Christ's death. Since
Jesus is no longer dead, but risen in victory, we are also risen from death into life with
Him. Since we were united (joined together) with Him in His death, we are united with
Him in His life. Therefore, we should live like we are joined to Him and walking in
victory with Him. The devil does not want us to know this truth or to walk in it.
...knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be
done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
ROMANS 6:6
45
Our body of sin (the old man, our carnal nature, the flesh) was literally rendered
inoperative. Why do we continue to yield to it?
Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ
Jesus our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body,
that you should obey it in its lusts.
ROMANS 6: 11, 12
And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present
yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of
righteousness to God
ROMAN 6:13
We must present ourselves (our members) to God as alive fro e . ) and our
members (tongue, mind, body, eyes, ears, etc.) as instruments ( eapo ) 0:
righteousness.
You may be saying, "I don't know if! can really do this." Sure you can. It has notbrcg
do with your power or ability. We have failed in the past for two reasons:
1. We did not reckon ourselves dead to sin because we did not understand that we had
died to it in Christ.
2. We tried in our own power and ability to resist sin, but still found ourselves consumed
by it (see Romans 7:14-24).
After reckoning ourselves dead to sin and alive to God, we now present ourselves to God
as slaves of righteousness.
And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
ROMANS 6:18
After understanding that we were buried with Christ, the key to being "slaves of
righteousness" is the understanding that the Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead and
that the same Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in us.
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised
Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who
dwells in you.
ROMANS 8:11
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and
the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and
gave Himself for me.
GALATIANS 2:20
...and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to
the working of His mighty power ...
EpHESIANS 1: 19
46
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that works in us ...
EpHESIANS 3:20
The "exceeding greatness of His power toward us," is in us--the Holy Spirit!
Our weapons are not in the flesh (in our natural ability or power), but are mighty in God
(see 2 Corinthians 10:3-5). They are mighty because they are empowered by God and
administered by the Holy Spirit, who lives in us.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are
Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. lfwe live in the Spirit,
let us also walk in the Spirit.
GALATIANS 5:22-25

Pulling Down Strongholds
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons
of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting
down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
2 CORINTHIANS 10:3-5
• stronghold is a thought pattern that is contrary to the Word of God, and it brings us
llinto defeat. We must pull down the strongholds that are in our minds. Any mindset or
way of thinking that causes us to feel hopeless is a stronghold and must be brought down.
Not only must we pull down strongholds, we must also cast down all arguments and
everything that comes against God and His Word. This passage makes it clear that a war
is raging over who and what we believe, and that the primary battleground is in our
minds.
The enemy bombards us with thoughts of defeat and destruction. He continually lies to us
and reminds us of our past failures. This is the reason that we must bring "every thought
into captivity to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5). We must take all thoughts
captive and make sure that all of the thoughts that go through our mind line up with the
God's Word. '
In God, we have mighty weapons with which to pull down strongholds and to cast down
arguments and everything else that exalts itself against God. In order to be victorious, we
need to learn how to use these weapons. Our primary weapon is the Word of God. As we
discover the truth of God's Word and appropriate it by faith into our lives, we are able to
recognize the lies and reject them.
The lies of the enemy come against us in our minds. In order for us to get free, we must
understand how the enemy works and what the war is like on the battlefield of the mind.
The enemy attacks us through thoughts of accusation and condemnation, continually
harassing us trying to get our minds off of God's truth and onto his lies.
The mind focused on the flesh leads to death. This happens when we concentrate on our
circumstances and problems instead of on God and the truth of His Word. We must
49
intentionally and actively set our minds on the Spirit and on the things above (see
Colossians 3:2). As we confess the Word, pray, praise, worship, give thanks, bless, and
honor the Lord in other ways, we find the freedom that is in Christ.
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is,
sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the
earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our
life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
COLOSSIANS 3: 1-4
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things
are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of
good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on
these things.
PIDLIPPIANS 4: 8
You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You,
because he trusts in You.
ISAIAH 26:3
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
ROMANS 12:2

Walking in Freedom
1.Know God through His Word. Let His Word "become flesh," or become living and
real, in your heart (see John 1:14). Discover the awesome love of the Father. Find out and
believe who you are "in Christ."
2. Set your mind on things above (see Colossians 3:2). Your mindset will probably have
to change. Watch negative thoughts. Watch for condemnation and accusations toward
yourself and toward God. These come from the enemy.
3. Embrace the Holy Spirit and trust Him to speak to you. He will never say anything
contrary to God's Word. He does not condemn you. He will convict you of sin, but He
never calls you a sinner.
4. Remove anything that is part of the kingdom of darkness from your possession or from
your home.
5. Treat all sin and disobedience as poison.
6. Be quick to forgive when you fail or sin. Confess your sin, receive forgiveness and be
cleansed. 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
1.Recognize the real enemy, which is not flesh and blood (people). We are in a war. It is
not against people, but against the forces of the devil (see Ephesians 6: 12).
Submit to God (see James 4:7).
Resist the devil. (see 1 Peter 5:S, 9).
Put on the armor of God and enter into spiritual warfare (see Ephesians 6: 10-IS).
Take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (see 2 Corinthians 10:3-6).
With the authority of Jesus and in His name, stand against and resist, any demonic
spirit that is harassing or afflicting you.
Begin to walk in the Spirit, realizing that the flesh wars against the Spirit (see
Galatians 5: 16, 17).
8. Be involved in a local church that understands and preaches the full counsel of God.
You need to be:
Submitted to the leadership that so you can be properly under authority
Attending the local functions on a regular basis
Reading and studying the Bible
Learning to pray and growing in your prayer life
Accountable to someone or a small 'group who can help you in time of need.
Some people will need mature believers to love them or "father" them back to life.
9. Now, start thanking the Lord for victory (see 2 Corinthians 2: 14).
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of
God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test
all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
1THESSALONIANS 5: 16-22
51
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit
of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
HEBREws 13: 15
Choosing lile
Ifwe do not choose life, we automatically choose death. Jesus came that we might have
life and that we might have it abundantly (see John 10:10), but we must make deliberate
choices that lead to life.
See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you
today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments,
His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God
will bless you in the land which you go to possess. But if your heart turns away so that
you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, I
announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in
the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. I call heaven and earth as
witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and
cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may
love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for
He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the
Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.
DEUTERONOMY 30: 15-20
Remember: there are no instant cures, only God's steady process of maturity and
sanctification. This is a process that will continue as you grow in the Lord.

Dealing with Demons
D emons (or fallen spirits) are still around today and they are looking for vessels to
occupy and torment. These vessels are often people. Usually, much demonic
influence is broken when a person comes to know Jesus, receives the Holy Spirit and
begins to walk according to God's Word. But in some situations the demon(s) must be
confronted, taken authority over and cast out.
We do not believe that Christians can be possessed by demons, but that we can be
harassed, influenced and even sometimes controlled by them. Although much
controversy surrounds this aspect of ministry, we do know that Jesus confronted demons
and commanded His disciples to confront them. Therefore, we will confront them also.
Because so many people are in bondage to demons and/or demonic influence, dealing
with demons is often essential in setting the captives free. Casting out demons is
important, but the real issue is making sure that all the open doors are closed so that the
demons are denied access to a person's life. Demonic influence will continue if the open
doors are not closed.
The following information is designed to help you when you do encounter demons as you
minister to others. If you find yourself in a situation in which demons need to be cast out
and have not had experience in this area, ask someone who is experienced to help you.
Fear Hot
One of the first things to remember when you encounter demonic activity is to refuse
fear. Whatever you do, do not be afraid.
..and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof a/perdition,
but to you a/salvation, and that from God..
PHILIPPIANS 1:28
You are a/God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is
greater that he who is in the world. .
1 JOHN 4:4
Stand in VictOry
Stand confident that your victory is in Jesus, and that He has already defeated the enemy
completely. You are dealing with an enemy who cannot win because the contest is over.
53
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose
the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
. 1 JOHN 3:8
Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in
Your name." And He said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lighting from heaven.
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the
power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not
rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you but rather rejoice because your names
are written in heaven. "
LUKE 10:17-20
Not only does Jesus have all authority because of what He did while He wason earth, but
the whole of Scripture affirms that God has always been completely in contro1. Jesus did
not come to earth so that He could gain authority, because the Father has already given
Him all authority (see Matthew 28: 18). He came to earth so that we would have the
authority over the evil one. Jesus overcame the evil one by living as a man, but living
without sin. By His resurrection, He broke the power of sin and death and now has all
authority in heaven and on earth. As believers, we can use the unlimited authority that He
has and be confident of victory over the evil one.
We also need power. Power comes from the Holy Spirit. We must have the power of the
Holy Spirit and trust Him to manifest that power when we encounter demons. We have
authority in and through the name of Jesus; and we have power by and through the Holy
Spirit.
54
Casting Out Demons
If demons manifest and cause trouble, they are trying to frighten you. Do not be afraid!
Though there is no rigid formula for dealing with every demonic situation every time a-
demon manifests, the steps below have proven effective when encountering a demonic
manifestation.
Demons will often leave a person through the eyes or mouth. You must trust the spiritual
gift of discerning of spirits to know whether the demon( s) are gone. Many times the
primary or dominant demon will lay low and allow the junior demons to be cast out. By
keeping silent, that demon can stay. Ifthe roots of demonic oppression are cut and the
person begins to really walk with the Lord, then that dominant demon will ultimately
have to leave also. Sometimes deliverance happens immediately and sometimes it takes
place over a period of time.
If the demon(s) do not come out rather quickly, try to determine if:
• The person is harboring unconfessed sin, especially unforgiveness and/or anger
• The person has been or is involved in occult activity
• The person is just not ready yet
Remember to assure the person that God is in control. If the enemy had enough power to
kill him or her, he would have already done so.
Remember 1 John 4:4: "Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world" (KN).
55
Appendix A:
Root Spirits
• root spirit is the ultimate cause of a variety of symptoms or manifestations in our
lIIives. These manifestations are also called "fruits" because they are the visible
evidence of a root spirit that mayor may not be visible. The chart on the next page shows
the connection between several root spirits and their fruits, but it is not comprehensive.
Notice that the same fruit can be traced to different roots.
Please take a moment to look over the chart and check which attitudes, tendencies,
behaviors are or have been part of your life or your family's life. Please check also
anything that has happened to you or that has happened in your family.
Then, record in writing any information or experience in your life that pertains to the
following eight areas.
2. Dishonor / Rebellion: List any instances of dishonoring your parents and any problems
you have had with anyone in authority.
4. Judgments / Inner Vows: List any judgments or inner vows you may have made.
5. Curses: List all the areas in which curses appear to be working in your life and in the
history of your family.
6. The Occult: List all involvement in the occult or false religions. Include your own
participation and the involvement of anyone in your family.
8. Soul Ties: List people and institutions (past or present) with whom you may have a
soul tie.

Declaration 01Faith
In the name of Jesus, this is my confession. Ibelieve that:
• Jesus Christ is the virgin-born Son of God.
• He died on the Cross for my sins.
• He arose from death on the third day with victory over death, hell and the grave.
• He ascended later into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father.
• from His glorified position He sent His Holy Spirit to earth.
•. at this moment He is interceding for me and for all the redeemed of the earth.
