TOPIC 1

ASSESSMENT TOOLS IN THE LEARNING

ENVIRONMENT

1.
I. Class observation

Sordonyx

(G–7)

As I observed at Grade – 7 sordonyx at different time and days ,

From Monday to Friday. On the first day of our observation I suppostedly shock because. I

don’t think if the students are really want to listen and cooperate to the topoic that Ms.

Evelyn Sarmiento thought, as welI as to the activity that they do .I saw different kind of

attitudes and characterestics that the boys had and even the girls, but I guest that it is

normally happen inside the classroom. At the same time, I wont say that grade 7 sordonyx

are the naughty class.

When the class start, I saw a little bit of changes, they are all responding

to the question, that there teacher ask and continuously until the performace taskof their

own group. They divided the class into four groups. So far they all perform their task,

although its not perfect and wrong timing ,but at the same time they are all doing good. I

can say that differnces is not obstacle in goal in life , moreover it give us strength to pursue

our dreams even if it is so very hard. Even if the students have a differnces in all, don’t let

our students go.2.

2.
Pearl

( G -7 )

9:00 – 10:00 am

As I observed at Grade – 7 sornyx at different time and

days ,based on my observation during the class, It was so good and nice classes that I

suppostedly observed, because the whole class of Grade 7 Pearl are really ready to

listen. The learner’s participation are very action in a way that they really showed their

interest and willingness to leran. They really tried their best to answer the question that

their teacher given to them. Each participate in the lesson.I can say that Ms. Evelyn

Sarmiento are effective teacher in grade 7 – pear. They influence one another so that

they are attaining the so called Learning.

Based on classroom management It help each student to easily

adapt the lesson so that they learn a lot of things on which they help to developed their

own knowledge, skills and abili

3.
Amber

(G–7)

As I observed at Grade – 7 sornyx at different time and day,

I exactly ad actually see the activities that they do. Which is singing, through singing, how

will they showed the love and support to our country, in what way will they help our

country.During performance tasks I see that each group show their cooperation to their

assigning group. But then I see a litte bit of noise while doing their activity, but its not

obstacle to them to complete and easily done there work. They shoe their fashion and

interest in learning.Respect each other point of view on how they, communicate, participate

and give importance of other’s opinion.

Based on classroom management It help each student to easily

adapt the lesson so that they leran a lot of things, that lead them to their dream succes

in life.

III. Reflection

Based on my overall observation which I conduct during the class of

Mrs. ROSITA JOYAG, a social studies teacher at INOSLUBAN INTEGRATED

NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL. I found out that assessment is very important in teaching
learning process. As I conducting observation with my cooperating teacher, I have noticed
that assessment gives opportunities to the students to show what they have learned rather
than catching them out or to show what they have not learned.

Assessment of an individual student’s progress or achievement is an important

component of evaluation; it is that part of evaluation that includes the measurement and
analysis of information about students learning

Assessing what a students knows and how he learned provides variable information
to both teacher and students in setting achievements goals. As a teacher we carefully
design assessments to play a vital role in determining future strategies in teaching and
learning.

III. Reflection

My thoughts and feelings base on the implementation of the

Assessment Tools use in the Classroom that will facilitate by the teachers / Ms. Evelyn

Sarmiento are so very well sense of using this kind of assessment to each of the students

,because each categories under the different topics such as, knowledge, skills and

understandings are established. Through of this the teacher can easily measure each

student’s skills and abilities, base on the activities and task. Assessment tools can help not

only to the teachers to records the learning activities and task of their students but also it

help students to develop their own knowledge to have an improvement in all aspects of

learning. I guest this one of the key component of an effective teaching that each students

gain and learn knowledge.

I also learned that using this assessment tools is very

efficient because it is a good initiative to organize the classroom in diverse positions, with

the proposal of better interactions among students and teacher. Another important point to

consider as a future educator is the importance of using our voice during the discussion talk

laud and clearto be understamnd for everyone.

V. Reflection

My overall thoughts and feelings base on the implementation of the

Compiled Example of Test Questionnaire that will facilitate by the teachers / Ms. Evelyn

Sarmiento are so very effective of using this kind of assessment to each of the students

,because each categories of questionnaire with regards to its question under the different

understandings are established. Through of this, the teacher can easily measure each

student’s skills and abilities, base on the activities and task. Assessment tools can also help

not only to the teachers to records the learning activities and task of their students

However, it also help students to develop their own knowledge to have an improvement in

all aspects of learning. Every student’s asseement was exactly the same, and the

assessment did not contain any subjectivity. I guest this one of the key component of an

effective teaching that each students gain and learn knowledge.

I also learned and reflect that using this assessment is very

efficient because it is a good initiative to organize the classroom in diverse positions, with

the proposal of better interactions among students and teacher. Another important point to

consider as a future educator is the importance of using our voice during the discussion talk

laud and clear to be understamnd for everyone. So in that case, if the evalauation will

facilitate correctly used very well, students would want to experiment more and take

additional risk knowing that the end result a good feeling of achievement instead failure.

III. Reflective Journal

I believe that teaching is an essential and noble profession

to help students reach their potential and help them to succeed in life.Coming into

Inosluban-Marawoy Integrated National High School, I was anxious to observe students

and teachers in their natural environment. I wanted to see how teachers behave and deal

with students on a day to day basis.High school students are one of the thoughest

individuals to teach since they are in their Formative stage. I saw students who are

enthusiastic, energetic and there are also students who are timid and lacking the focus that

others have.It is admirable to see the teachers try and handle different kinds of students

and still maintain their passion and calmness inside the classroom.

Next to parents, teachers are the most important foundational

element in our society. Everything important begins in childhood and adolescence specially

knowledge, self-knowledge, resilence, and character.Proper preparation is fundamental to

living a full, rewarding life.Without self-awareness, teenagers may follow wrong paths and

end up far from their true callings; lost, sad, and unfulfilled. Without resilence, the storms

and challenges of life can turn children and adolescents from their highest path, leaving far

from who they might have been. Finally, character is the force that raises society as a

whole, minimizes shocks and collisions between people, and balances self-interest and

social good. Ideally, allof this education starts in the home but often the parents themselves
may be inadequately skilled in this regard. School is anecessary complement to and

supplement of this learning.

34.

As I began to see teenagers and education in their natural environment in

Inosluban-Marawoy Integrated National High School, a new understanding has reached

me. I understood that I had the opportunity to make atleast a few adolescents

educational experience more nurturing and productive than my own had been. The brilliant

body of work I was reading was filled with opportunities to improve the outcomes and

experiences of students today. In not much time, it became clear to me that the second half

of my life would be about children, adolescents and their education.
