It has been reported on the TV news that the cases of dengue fever in the
Philippines caused by the mosquito aedis egypti had increased. It was stated in the
Division Memorandum that all schools are enjoined to practice the “Four-o’clock
Habit” to help prevent and control the dreaded dengue hemorrhagic fever. The 4
o’clock habit is a clean-up activity every 4:00 pm to get rid the breeding places of
mosquitoes in the school and its surroundings.

The students of Moises B. Rebamontan National High School done the following
activities as part of the 4 o’clock habit and contribute on protecting themselves on the
dengue fever: pulling of grasses in the school ground and in the back of the classrooms;
cleaning their classrooms; cleaning the back area of the classrooms school and
cleaning the school ground; and areas near premises of the school. The teachers
facilitated and monitored the said activities.

Such ways would be a great help to fight the problems on dengue fever.
