 Showing Surprised in English


Surprised expression are commonly related to a situation which makes us disbelieve and
have interest expression. Most English native spreakers often use short interrogatives in
speech as a wayto express attention, interest, or surprise.

For example:
Kara: The party was terrible
Ghea: Was it?
Kara: Yes, I had a horrible time! There was no music!”

 Expressing Surprise adalah ekspresi yang dilakukan seseorang ketika mendapatkan


sebuah kejutan.

 Beberapa ungkapan Expressing Surprise & disbelief dalam bentuk formal & informal:
FORMAL
 I find that very surprising.
 I must say it surprises me.
 I find it extraordinary.
 Indeed?
 How very surprising.
INFORMAL
 That’s very surprising, really?

 That’s amazing/extraordinary.

EXPRESSING DISBELIEF
 Adalah ungkapan yang digunakan untuk menyatakan sebuah ketidak percayaan terhadap
sesuatu atau seseorang dengan atau tanpa alasan.
 Berikut beberapa contoh kaimat yang di gunakan untuk mengungkapkan ketidak
percayaan.
 Asking if you believe it or not
 Do you believe it?
 Wouldn’t believe it, do you?
 Don’t you think is odd that..?
 You don’t believe it, do you?
 Can you imagine that?
 It can’t be true
 I don’t trust you

 Responding believe it or not


 No. I don’t believe it
 Are you joking?
