A hermetically sealed compressor has all its parts assembled and enclosed in a strong steel casing made of two welded half shells. It contains an inbuilt lubrication system to lubricate and cool the piston, cylinder, and crankshaft. Hermetically sealed compressor

 All the parts of the hermetically sealed compressor are assembled and
enclosed in a strong and rigid casing made up of welded steel shell.
 The steel shell comprises of two half rounded steel bodies that are welded
together to form the casing for the hermetically sealed compressor.
 The hermetically sealed compressors have inbuilt lubrication system for
the lubrication of the piston and cylinder and crankshaft (lubricant also
acts the coolant for the piston and cylinder)
 It is normally used for domestic applications as the noise produced is
reduced considerably.
