Section – I
Note : 1. Answer all the questions in one WORD or PHRASE
2. Each Question carries ½ Mark. 12 × ½ = 6
1. What is the slope of the line passing through the points (2a, 3b) and (2b, 3a).
2. Find the distance of the point (a cos𝜃, - a sin𝜃) from the origin.
3. What is the equation of x – axis ?
4. Angle between the lines x = 2 and y = 3 is

5. Write the general form of a point lies on x – axis.
6. Choose the correct answer satisfying the following statements.

13. Find the mid – point of the line segment joining the points (2, 7) and (12, -7).
14. Find the centroid of the Triangle whose vertices are (3, -5), (-7, 4) and (10, -2)
15. Show that the slope of the line segment joining the points (-4, 2) and (-4, -2) is equal to the slope of
Y – axis.
16. If A(4, 0), B(0, y) and AB = 5, then find the possible value of ‘y’.
17. What is centroid of a triangle ?
18. If (0, 0), (2, 0), (3, 0) are the vertices of a triangle, then find its area.
19. If the slope of the line joining the points (3, -5), (K, 10) is 5, then find ‘K’.
20. Find the distance between the points (a cos𝜃, 0) and (0, asin𝜃)

21. Can you draw a triangle with vertices (1, 5), (5, 8) and (13, 14) ? Give reason.
22. Find a relation between ‘x’ and ‘y’ such that the point (x, y) is equidistant from the points (7, 1) & (3, 5)
23. Find the ratio in which the line segment joining the points (-3, 10) and (6, -8) is divided by (-1, 6).
24. Find the point on the Y – axis which is equidistant from (6, 5) and (-4, 3).
25. In the diagram on a Lunar eclipse, if the positions of Sun, Earth and Moon are shown by (-4, 6), (K, -2)
and (5, -6) respectively, then find the value of ‘K’.
26. If in ∆ABC, AD is median and A (1, 2) and D(3, 4), then find the centroid of ∆ABC.
27. Find the Coordinates of the point which divides the line segment joining the points (1, -3) and (-3, 9) in
the ratio 1 : 2 internally.
28. Find the ratio in which the x – axis divides the line segment joining the points (-2, 3) and (5, -7).

Note : 1. Answer all the Questions

29. a) Madhuri found an old map in her house that has the information about an Indian treasure. According
to the given scale in the map the treasure point and three statues which are at the points (3, 5),
(-5, -4) and (7, 10) form a parallelogram. But in the map at the treasure point was damaged. Help her
to find the treasure point ?

b) Find the coordinates of the points which divides the line segment joining A (-2, 2) and B(2, 8) into
four equal parts.
30. a) Prove that the points (-7, -3), (5, 10), (15, 8) and (3, -5) taken in order are the vertices of a
parallelogram and also find its area.

b) Find the area of the Triangle formed by the points (2, 3), (-1, 3) and (2, -1) by using Heron’s formula.
31. a) Ramu has a site in the shape of a triangle with vertices (0, -1), (2, 1) and (0, 3). He wants to construct
a swimming pool by joining the mid points of the edges of the site. How much area will the swimming
pool occupies ? Find the ratio of area of the swimming pool and the total site ?

b) If D(1, 1), E(2, -3) and F(3, 4)are the mid-point of sides ∆ABC, then find the vertices A, B, C of ABC.
32. a) Show that the points (-4, -7), (-1, 2), (8, 5) and (5, -4) taken in order are the vertices of a Rhombus.
And find it’s area.

b) Name the type of the Quadrilateral formed if any, by the following points, and give reasons for your
answer. (-1, -2), (1, 0), (-1, 2), (-3, 0)
33. a) What do you say about the points of trisection ? Find the co – ordinates of the point of trisection of
the line segment joining (-3, -5) and (-6, -8)

b) If A and B are (-2, -2) and (2, -4) respectively. Find the co – ordinates of P such that AP = 7AB and ‘P’

lies on the segment AB.
