Hearing or reciting certain Dasakams (sections) of the Narayaneeyam text is believed to provide benefits such as respect in heaven, good positions and fortune in life, wealth, long life, fame, salvation from sins, avoidance of dangers, victory over enemies, blessings of children and detachment from worldly affairs. Reciting some Dasakams is also believed to increase devotion to Vishnu and fulfillment of desires.
